Jurchen and Joseon (Korea) have similar names because they come from the same root. It means people from the ancient country jušen. When the Joseon Dynasty was founded, Jurchen helped the first king, Seong-gye Lee, and was also a founding member. Meanwhile, Korea is also a member of Mongolia. Hankook韓國(Korea) literally means "Khan State". Han is a dialect of Khan. Likewise, the Han River in Seoul is a change from the Khan River.

1. You are genetically indistinguishable from Northeastern Chinese. There is no genetic Manchu. You are as close to each other as North Koreans are to South Koreans. If you created a society filled with Manchu people, you would take in 100+ million Chinese people. 2. Koreans are genetically the most similar to Manchu besides the Northeastern Chinese. You also look like them. 3. Mongolians and Japanese have no claim to you because they genuinely have zero claim. 4. Your history skills is extremely stupid. You are heavily tied with all of East Asia. Genetically, you are closest to Northeastern Chinese.

No, we were always a loose confederation of tribes prior to unification and the Manchu of the Qing were reportedly not the same as the Jurchen / Manchu of the Jin. In reality we are an amalgamation of many East Asians but we are most definitely descended from North Eastern Russian steppe herders rather than Mongols, Koreans, or Chinese. Then again, there is talk of potential Turkic legacy too as all nomads in East Asia are loosely connected to one another. We've also interbred with Chinese A LOT historically I would not be surprised to see that most Jurchens even during Jin were not purely Jurchen rather Han and Jurchen mixes. We also intermingled with Mongols when they subjugated the Jin, but our history with para-mongolic entities is dubious and bloody at best due to our hatred for one another.
@salvatorenostrade3331
@salvatorenostrade3331 6 месяцев назад
The reason why many Koreans especially South Koreans want to claim our legacy is due to Goguryeo and the alliance they shared with our ancestors the Mohe. They've always viewed us as barbarians so I am unsure why they wish to claim Manchus as Korean. Especially when almost all modern Koreans came from the southern most Kingdom which was able to squash the others. Silla, so the only people in Korea with Manchu blood would be North Koreans ironically. Either way, we are not Korean and will never be so I find the debate pointless.
@marioplayer1410

@@salvatorenostrade3331 Again, I need sources. Maybe go to the ruins of ancient Manchu and go dig up their bodies for genetic testing. Many Manchu had their DNA tested and they found they are significantly closer to Han Chinese than Tungusic groups. Is Manchu DNA really so weak that they fizzle out in a mere hundreds years and we need a microscope to look for this Manchu DNA? Of course not! They are so hard to pin-point because they are Chinese mate! Koreans are genetically distinct from Chinese despite them directly coming from the West Liao River, but we need a microscope to locate Manchu DNA!

@@salvatorenostrade3331 I don't really care about Korean history. I only care for their genetics. Genetically speaking, based on autosomal distances, it seems that the Manchu are near indistinguishable from Northeastern Chinese. For Koreans, they are the closest to Manchu. Again, I need studies. If these results offend you, I don't really care! I despise people who talk like this. "We are originally from many confederacies." "Uh, actually we have Jomon ancestry." "We came from Goguryeo genetically with a bit of Silla DNA and tungusic." It's all meaningless. Give me a study.

I think Aisin does not mean gold but is translated from Chinese as ' Love Heart' and Gioro is actually the ancient name Goryeo aka Korea. So Aisin Gioro would mean Love Goryeo with all the heart. This makes more sense as the area the Jurchens/ Nurchens were staying was in Goryeo/ Korea. Nurchen as translated from Chinese means, Slave tribe/ people. So when the Nurchens, a derogatory term used by the Chinese, conquered China, changed the name to Manchu i.e. the tribe of Man or Man Tribe/ People.

Mongol/Persian historical texts use "Jurchia/Jurchen" as well. It's not a name given by the Chinese, but that's how the people who built the Jin (金) dynasty called themselves. 愛新 (Aisin) is a transliteration of the Manchu word meaning Gold. The name most likely derives from the Jin dynasty. And that's probably why the Jurchen/Manchus called their dynasty "Latter Jin" 後金, initially. "Jin" is the family name that many Aisin Gioro members used after the collapse of the dynasty to hide their Manchu ancestry. Gioro name comes from the clans historical location in Heilongjiang province, around Harbin city.
