Taika Waititi didn't just direct the episode... he also did the voice for IG-11!

There has actually been a running joke(pretty much a meme) since the 80s about how the storm troopers had terrible aim. Those two storm troopers missing was hilarious for fans that knew about the joke. They even made reference to it in a previous episode. In the heist, where they were freeing the brother. At the beginning one of the mercenaries played by Bill Burr was mentioned as being imperial sharp shooter or something and Mando said something snide. The merc then said, "I wasn't a storm trooper *sshole."😁 Can't wait for season 2. Great reactions.

The Mandalorians that found him were a group known as Deathwatch as signified by their blue armor. They fought against the republic during the Clone Wars.

The weapon that Gideon cut himself out of the TIE Fighter with is called the Darksaber. It's a unique kind of lightsaber that's a part of Mandalorian history. It's been in The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels before this.

I like how they kept referring to “the Creed” with Carl Weathers in several scenes during the season, considering he played Apollo Creed in the Rocky films. 🥊

The best episode in a season of many great episodes. Your reactions are so precious, love the emotion. The inserts were spot on as usual (Han Solo's head turn - a riot!); Terminator flashed in my mind when you said "get up soldier", then boom, there's the clip. Congrats on finishing just in time for season 2 - now you join the rest of us as we live in anticipation from week-to-week!

I just finished both seasons last week over a few days and love watching them again to see your reactions (my fav of the reacters/reactors/people who react to stuff that I've seen). That was pretty funny that you got your baby Yoda hat right away after the first episode! I also always appreciate people who appreciate the effects, music, production design, etc., that goes into shows. I worked in film for a while and the set and costume designers, props departments, VFX, and other crews are crucial to a project's success. They add so much extra icing to what might be a great cake, but it's even better with their work. As someone who's old af and was in the theater when the very first Star Wars film came out - before we even knew what it really was - I loved all the throwbacks to the original trilogy in this series. I'm not sure where it's going to go without Grogu (since the whole 'baby Yoda' thing really hooked a lot of people), but it was a really fun show. Some great actor cameos in the show, too. There is a nice mystery going out the first season - Where did Gideon get the Dark Saber from, it was in the hands of the current Mandalore Bo Katan Kryze, but we still don't know much about the Purge of Mandalore. The second season wil show more ... )))

It was an interesting contrast, seeing how vulnerable and scared Din looked, compared to how he usually comes across as the Mandalorian. I thought it was really sweet.

Those two Trooper Scouts hitting child are comedians: Jason Sudeikis and Adam Pally. Jason gotten a lot of heat when his identity was revealed one of those troopers hitting the child.

Binge watching these reactions after watching the series again (after watching it I don't know how many times) and gotta say, your little movie reference edits are awesome! Can't wait to see what you make of season 2!

Moff Gideon has the Darksaber it is the light saber of the first Mandalorian Jedi. It is a symbol of strength and power among the Mandalorian and Mandalorians recognize the wielder of the Darksaber as the ruler of Mandalor.

7:13 Hahaha Yes! That's exactly what I was thinking when you said "Get up" the first time! Nicely played. This is a fantastic reaction once again. I love your reaction and really love the edits. This is one of my favourite episodes of this season (along with ep7, but this one just tops it). Taika Waititi has gotten so good at running that line of serious dramatic moments that break your heart and humour that heals it. If you haven't already seen it, I'd love to see you react to Jojo Rabbit. My other fav is ep 6 where Mando joins that crew the prison ship rescue mission that goes wrong in all the right places. It's a great "monster of the week" type episode that isn't really part of the overall story but it's some fun before the big finish. I just loved seeing Din in that environment, doing what he does best, with all that betrayal going on. Plus is has Clancy Brown and Richard Ayoade in it. And you can never go wrong with adding more Richard Ayoade .

The big Easter Egg reveal in this episode is the Darksaber! The Darksaber is a unique black lightsaber introduced in the animated Clone Wars. Originally, a Mandalorian Jedi built it but it was stolen from the Jedi Temple millenia ago when the Old Republic fell during one of the Jedi-Mandalorian wars. The Mandalorians have fought with and against both the Jedi and the Sith throughout history. The Darksaber goes through several owners over the course of the Clone Wars and Rebels series but how Gideon got his hands on it is unknown. It is a treasured heirloom of the Mandalorian culture. Now you know why Mando hates droids. Droids wiped out his people! IG-11 turned it around for him, though. The opening bit with the biker scout troopers missing the stationary target so badly was an acknowledgement of the popular Star Wars inside joke that stormtroopers have terrible aim! The mysterious armorer and lore master played by Emily Swallow will return in Season 2! Most of the stormtrooper extras used in the finale were from the 501st Legion, a fan organization of Star Wars devotees who craft screen-accurate costumes and gather together for charity functions. The producers summoned them without informing them of the nature of the function for which they were to assemble and, upon arrival, they were shocked to realize they were going to be part of an actual Star Wars film production! Now that you've seen the first season, I urge you to check out the parody trailer that advertises the show as if it were a '70's Spaghetti Western if you haven't already. To the crew's surprise, that was completely Gina Carano effortlessly picking up and dragging Mando into the shelter.

Even with season 2 coming out next week, if you want more Star Wars in your life, the Clone Wars cartoon is fantastic. And the Thrawn books are also a lot of fun. (if you aren't familiar with Thrawn, he's an amazing strategist for the Empire).

More than likely its his Creed ,That doesn't allow helmets to be taken off.. Watch clone wars and rebels cartoon series real Mandalorians took their helmets off without problems. Some of the best storytelling in Star Wars are in these two cartoon series.. This is the way Kind of odd she didn't recognize a jet pack... lol
