If you flip the t-visor template upside down on the grinding shield so the top of the T is a the bottom you can avoid the stenciling all together

Nicely done. Never thought to use the welding shield material

Did you do any prepping for where the Velcro sticky goes too? Like sanding, or did the sand blasting take care of that?

You know I'm sitting here envying this man, not only has he created one of his own helmets that looks like an EXACT replica, he also doesn't have the struggle of helmet hair! for me once I put a hat/helmet or anything that goes on my head, it wont come off...…ok I will refuse to remove it.

you could also use some thick foam so it fits like a motorcycle helmet

Why do all mandalorian helmets not have the gap at the bottom why does the companies need to add visor at the very bottom where it clearly shows no visor but to bits poking out am. I the only one who cares about detail man

You ruined the visor man by placing it too low there is supposed to be an inch gap at the bottom of the helmet where the sides protrude out

why didnt you just flip your template upside down. you wouldnt have to worry about the stenciling then.

Do you not have a welding gun for your studs at your work? Sorry I don't know what it's called in English. We use those same studs and we have an Arc welding gun that holds them and when you touch it to the aluminium it arc welds them to the aluminium. Though I'm sure your studs are steal and not aluminium like ours are so that might not be a viable option. Just thought it would be better then drilling holes in your armor and press fitting them in and being able to see them in your armor.

Not really smart to put a screw inside the helmet even if it is small. Any bump on the helmet will tear the velcro and push your head against the screw. At least put a flat top on it with a larger piece of padding. Otherwise, awesome work

Why not just flip the visor over..then no text is in the template? (I assume this comment has already been made)

How much larger of a helmet would I need to accommodate the space on the inside that the pads would take up?

Are you putting Velcro on the Vizor itself or how are you getting it to stick to the Vizor to the Velcro?

I'll use some of these tips to fix up the visor on a green power ranger helmet I got online. The visor it came with is really bad.

So I need some advice I have a Mandalorian heavy infantry 3D printed helmet could you possibly give me a few steps of how to smooth it out what to use so I can paint it and make it look amazing do I use what they call final fill or what do I use on the helmet to fill in the creases and stuff from the 3D printing and sand it and smooth it out I don't really want to use Bondo or anything like that could you help me with a little advice this is my first bucket project and my first Mandalorian cosplay

How about the bolt sticking out? if someone kicks you in the head being a jerk and the bolt that is velcro inside the helmet can impale your skull? What can you do to eliminate that possibility?

U should,(or i would) have just used the original motor cycle helmet u used to start ur helmet build, remember? Not only perfect but added some kind of skull safety. Dont u think?🤙🏼

Nice. If you flipped the template you wouldn’t het any of the stencilling on it at all as the wide part would go to the bottom.

I suggest a rubber well nut to hold the harness. Also cheek pads would help stabilize the helmet even more. Regardless this is super cool though and you sharing your workflow is awesome!!

How much space do you have in there? I'm wondering how hard it would be to add a small mic, circuit board, and speaker to get that compressed voice sound he has in the show.

Thanks for the video! I actually need help with cutting my visor for my Mandalorian helmet because it has it so the visor is squeezed between 2 small edges to fit inside, how do you measure that out? I can't use posterboard to test it because it bends, I would have to keep buying these shields until I get it right. Any advice on how to find the right size that fits without wasting too much material on those shields? Thanks!

Using Velcro on visor limits your peripheral vision. Ever thought of cooling?

instead of using the sharp edges on the helmet to crease the paper for the template, i think you could also tape the paper onto the helmet and use a wide pencil or oil colour like a crayon and lightly color ontop of the edge, it should color in all areas exept the line where the edge touches the paper under neath. it works for transfering leaf paterns onto paper so i dont see why it wouldn also work for ths

such solid construction, you could add a pin camera and ear piece with mic on this easily hidden.
