7:16 this is where sojo lost He preached about 'deepening your understanding' right before this but when presented with an opportunity to do just that he chooses not to. He wavers Instead, sojo wanted to maintain his current interpretation of the blades. And that costed him Yes, cloud gauger chose him. Maybe it was because he chose slaughter. But enten chose chihiro, who did not waver And so chihiro was able to cut him down with even thicker bloodlust. Not even the raw materials that made up the blades responded to sojo anymore Unironically peak fiction tbh Tenoí
I’ve invested my stocks into Kagurabachi since the beginning, and I haven’t looked back since. Quite possibly the best set of opening chapters I’ve read
2 minutes in; you've already made a great impression on me. I love when people say "You get the chapter faster with leaks", no you don't. That's still 7 days, just on a different day. Fucking hilarious
One thing I like about the story as Chichiro understands his fathers blades more it’s a way for him to connect to his father is one way. But the way he’s connecting and learning more about his father and the philosophy, that he believed him is by becoming one with the sword that his father forged.
Incredibly happy to see that there are people willing to give some good literary analysis of a new manga series, especially one that I consider one of my top 4 currently running series. I went all in on Kagurabachi immediately and I don't regret it at all
KAGURABACHIIIIIIIIIIII. Hell yeah. Editing this when I'm done watching lol Edit: Great video! The Kagurabachi meme-ing is definitely a "You had to be there" moment for me, I did read the chapter and thought it was alright, thought it had some potential but kinda fell off 2 or 3 chapters later when the meme died down. Talk of the chapter 17 fight brought me back in and I'm happy it's been living up to the potential I thought it could have. Genuinely enjoying this manga now. I had already read and heard about your Death of the Author take on twitter and Kagurabachi N' Shill. Seeing it in this video is great too, made me enjoy what I was already enjoying more. I just hope it keeps delivering!
1:49 I really do wish that was the case all the time. I stopped reading official JJK chapters because of how awful John Werry and his localization are.
Its really cool to see something like this happen its very easy to see something as edgy power fantasy slop because as little as it seems that way that stuff is very popular especially amongst younge teens (most anime/manga target audience) and its not hard to wright. But the author likely saw the memes and wasnt disgraged and wrote/draw there vision instead of giving into the stereotype and i can respect that
Honestly, I was hooked since chapter 1. Even though it looked generic, I thought the art and presentation for the debut series of a new author were pretty incredible. So I wanted to believe But I was far from imagining the series would get as good as it did with the Sojo fight.
Man I’m so glad I finally got to see this video. When I heard you mention this getting taken down on an SNC episode I was disappointed because I was interested in what you wanted to say but I never got to watch it, glad you somehow managed to get it back. Great video!
I forgot how many hours I put into reading manga, even just in Jump when you pulled up the Graveyard and I recognized every series. Some you know won't make it, and others are just a shame that they left so soon like Phantom Seer, Tenmaku Cinema (which did great in concluding like it was meant to be a short story), or Red Hood.
This is a really good video. Im caught up on kagurabachi and i personally dont see much value in it, I thought the theme you mentioned here was shallow but you described it in an interesting way and pointed out evidence for it that i had forgotten. I would REALLY love a more dedicated video essay about kagura bachi some time.
Reread Land of Waves from Naruto and Kagurabachi genuinely makes me waver on if thats still my favorite first arc or not. Takeru Hokazono is special, let this series prosper 🙏
ngl i didn't know about the memes and just knew about the manga when it came out so i in my infinite wisdom went on viz read the two chapters that were out skip a few months and GOD this wasn't just a meme this is a good manga
