I am a 75 yr old white man and grew up during the civil rights awakening. This music transcended all races and helped people to understand how alike we all are.
Everyone in this comments is like "I am 70+ y/o and grew up..." and here I am, a 23 year old dude from the Netherlands still listening to legends like this

This time is gone forever, damn I'm glad to have grown up in an era where this music was popular... Temptations, Four Tops, The Drifters, The Cadillacs, and The Manhattans forevermore 🙌🙌🙌👋👋👋
2022 still listening to the oldies, great music, not vulgar like today..I love the music, teach my grand children all the best..great times..miss them years. ,💃🕺💃🕺
I am a die hard Motown fan, loved it then and appreciate it more now. I am 66 years old. I could close my eyes and go back to when I was 16. What a gift.
Early 60's now but listened to these songs on radio in OR Hills and no idea of Motown or what it meant..just listened to music...to the lyrics...later in teenage yrs bull started.
@@TreyMessiah95 get off your 'soap box' ! We are simply stating our love for the music these guys made and fantastic music at that. We know history and recent history too but it is sheer joy, happiness and love for the music these guys sang.
I was around 15 when Motown started their incredible run of fantastic music, it gave an ordinary working-class lad from the north of England so much pleasure and raised awareness in my young mind that skin colour meant nothing! Blessed by Motown and Stax!
Steve Andrew my grandmother actually loved him. She was a big fan of his. May he rest in heavenly peace along with the other two members of the tops and the temptations.
im only a young lad yet i have to say you are spot on there, in the last 15 - 20yr we been subjected to serious crap i would have loved to be knocking around when this music was hitting the charts
The amount of sheer talent on that stage! Im a 90's kid but i was so born in the wrong era... would have loved to have been at that show, what a vibe! Xx
Love the energy and the unity of these beautiful groups. This is real music compared to the garbage they have out there today. More classy, professional and just beautiful and innocent.
Absolutely fantastic I grew up in Jamaica West Indies and I grew up listening to these guys I was priveledge to attend some of these concerts. These memories are forever engraved in me.
Yes, this is real classic music! You have some very talent and professional singers like The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Manhattans, etc. They know how to dress formal for the event. The music still sounds good today. I love listening and dancing old school music!
I'm a 29 year old white guy (since everyone else wants to point out seemingly irrelevant info) lmao, and I love Motown music! I love and appreciate all types of music, but Motown had such a HUGE influence on almost all types of music that came after it. Motown music transcended class, race, geographic location, and just brought people together to love the melody and pure talent that these bands provided! I wish so much I was old enough to see some of these bands perform in their prime! You can't help but to start dancing when some good Motown comes on! Love to all!!
I had the opportutity yesterday to see “Ain’t too Proud” at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA. It talked about the story of how the Temptations came to be. Wow, all I can say is wow.
Pure soul. Ahhh these days are gone. I aint gone lie, I got tears in my eyes. God got most of these fellas now. The hereafter is getting the best shows now.😥 oh well one day.
Nothing better than my Four Tops! Thank you Duke for keeping the best band ever together in our hearts! 2020 still has the love of the Four Tops, the Manhattan's, and the Temptations in our 60's, 70's and 80's replay!
To anyone that grew up with this fabulous music when it was new or got to see this performance in person I am beyond jealous. Sadly Dennis Edwards passed away today which led me to a motown mood. Impossible to watch without smiling and singing/dancing along. Wow is the only word to describe it. Thanks for the great music that will be here forever for future generations to enjoy.
Such talent and such great music back then. Amazing memories flood back listening to the greatest sounds ever.... all my idols. If only I could re-live those years again. 72 now and this music still gets me going ❤️
This makes me so nostalgic a seemingly much simpler life compared to now. No theatrics or pyrotechnics or dancers in the way just pure soulful singing. Not sure that we will ever capture the essence of this time again. I don’t know how much creative control and rights they had then but the music was pure gold. I salute them - these are the shoulders of the giants that many in the last 30 years or so are still standing on. Let’s pay them due respect to them all
Love my families and their friends always played these groups in their parties and sang dance..i always watch them 🥰🌿🇳🇿💕🇮🇹 you can"t beat da old songs back in da days...😃🤩 takes you back to da good old days...when i get married again? Would love to have them all in it to sing WOW and my wedding be pack out? 👌🤣😂🤣💞🥰🌿🇳🇿💕🇮🇹😃🤩
I've watched it a hundred times and can't sit still every time. The pass of between T4T and the Temps is brilliant showmanship. True real talent unsurpassed to the day. BRAVO BRAVOOOOO!!
Absolutely FABULOUS!!!!! Now this is music to my ears,,, I remember when I was a youngster I would dance around the house with my mom while my dad would sing along to the Albums!!! The good old days, what wonderful memories I have with my parents listening to thses fantastic songs 😎😎😎
I love their rendition of Jackie Wilson’s classic at the end. Specially the way that they ended this song. Can you imagine a church choir singing it this way and ending it that way? That would be pretty sweet.
Absolutely classic class acts. Never again will this happen at the Apollo or anywhere else. This was obviously filmed a while ago. I remember all the songs from the good old days and I was very young but I grew up with the music. From the jukeboxes of the fifties and sixties to the discotheques of the seventies, these groups were still pulling out the hits as well as their older hits which had become disco standards. I Long for this not forgotten era. I am still here and flatly and blatantly refuse to leave. I ain't going nowhere. Bring back the discos with the coloured light dance floors and the mirror balls and colourful lightning and laser lighting shows and yes you can't ever forget the music with meaning in heart and soul. Am older now, but can give as good as any dancer today. Today they dance to repetitive beats that have gone wrong and lose their substance mid song. Back in the day, you could turn the beat around, extend it bend it and shape it etc and it's still a smash hit, worthy of great acclaim. Bring it all back and let's take a journey down that old familiar road to where it all began many years ago. Who's game?? I'm still here. 😉😉😉😎😎😎😎🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺✌✌✌✌👌👌🤙🤙🤙🤙👏👏👏👏👣👣👣👣👣👣👍👍👍👍👍👍🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺
Their struggle was very real. But thank God they persevered bcuz THIS was REAL music. The Temps will always be my all time favorite group . The Motown sound is a legacy to music
It's Saturday afternoon; the sun is shining and I just found this incredible collection of talent - thanks to RU-vid......WISH I HAD BEEN THERE..I loved all of the groups.
All I can say is I would not have been able to sit during this Classic Show oh no sir I would have had to be restrained call security what a performance friends from beginning to end Thank-you to all these great artists ❤️ X
