I have picked up the Legacy Knock Out earlier this year, and I absolutely love the little guy! Well articulated for the scale, intuitive transformation, and an absolute beaut of an alt mode! And it's not a frown, it's a smoulder.
knock out is hands down my favorite character in tf prime right infront of bee and i just loved his design and character in that show and i like how when megatron dies he instantly joins the autobots
Totally agree. I also loved how you can understand why he’d be over the Decepticons at the end. His partner Breakdown is killed for no good reason and then Megatron was willing to work with Silas in Breakdown’s desecrated corpse. Knock Out’s other best friend, Starscream, would be willing to throw him under a bus or in front of a bullet at a moment’s notice. He’s put under the command of Shockwave, who constantly talks down to him despite Knock Out being a genuinely gifted medic. With all of that done and him no longer having to live in fear of Megs, why bother sticking with the losing side?
I just bought the R.E.D. Knockout figure on eBay and I'm still thinking about the original deluxe figure tbh. It does have a lot if shortcomings, but in my "research" I noticed the chest pieces aren't positined properly in many photos and videos of the figure. The center of the hood moves out and downward, and the front fenders are meant to lift up, tilt inward and slot into the hood a bit. It's still a lackluster toy design, but it looks much better and less flat if you finish transforming the chest instead of leaving it half done
You’re on point, but a smaller issue this figure has if his hinges don’t age well. Take my figure, for instance, I can’t move any piece of his torso anymore without stressing the plastic. It’s an issue they fixed with beast hunter Knockout, but all versions of this original mold I’ve ever come across have the stress issue to varying degrees.
I wouldn't be surprised if someone has said this already, but you're like the Chris McFeely's "The Basics On" of Transformers Toys!! And I love it!!! Keep up the good work and content!
Man, I’m blushing over here. I love Chris McFeely’s stuff, and I’ll be the first to admit this series is inspired by him. The response on this Knock Out video has just been so awesome, and I can’t wait to make even more videos like this!
Great video! Was shocked that I’m the first to comment :) Big fan of Starscream, but one that I think would be interesting to cover is Randsack and Crumple zone (I know them from Energon)
Thank you so much! I’ll let you know, you’re not just the first person to comment on this video, you’re the first person to ever suggest some characters! Ransack would be a really good one, just because his name is used so often. I had to check with Crumplezone, but he actually has quite a few figures as well! I’ll start researching for that video before too long!
@@SealSultan Awesome! I’ll tell you, I did Soundwave and Elita-1 before this, and Tailgate should have a video out next weekend. I’ve not started on the character I was going to do after TG, so I might be able to get to the Ransack/Crumplezone video pretty quick!
Well, thank you! I already have two videos just like for Soundwave and Elita-1, and Tailgate’s video goes live on Friday. I’m just so happy people like this one!
For sure. In truth, I’d like third party to tackle any Prime character. I know APC is doing luxury upscales, but I’d like to see figures from third party built from the ground up.
Even though the Legacy Knockout isn't the Prime incarnation in pretty much any way i love the figure. I'm all for redesigns and reimagining characters in other styles so Knockout's toy being it's oen thing is compared fine in my book. And the figure is just a good one. The "evo fusion" or whatever Legacy has been doing actually works here because the 2 accessories combine into his actual spear. Great video, it's awesome seeing all these knockout figures. Definitely one of my favorite newer characters in Transformers and I'm glad the name Knockout has become synonymous with the Prime Knockout.
I think Knock Out was the first time my favorite character in a Transformer story was a Decepticon. In a weird way, I don’t think Soundwave and Thundercracker would be my favorite Transformers today if it weren’t for Knock Out being such a lovable lug.
I really want a windblade or knockout figure cuz they’re cool characters. There is lore behind cybertronians having the same names as old versions if the characters.
Yeah, especially when you delve into the multiverse and MccAddams, all that stuff. A think I found out that I didn’t mention in this video is that Micromaster and Minicon Knockouts are actually spelled “Knock Out”, with the space. Anyone base on Prime KO is Knockout, one word. I’ve been curious if that was intentional or just a happy coincidence.
3:16 hate to be that one guy, but technically knockout parallels to a deception sunstreaker based on his description on the back of his toy + the comics (we don’t see much of him in g1 and he’s like never utilised again beyond the realm of comics)
You’re on point, especially when you consider Marvel Sunstreaker outright being described as a sociopathic narcissist. It’s funny how character traits for under utilized bots can be given to new ones. I did a Tailgate video, and I realized his original toy bio of trying to liberate all of Earth’s machines is essentially the backstory for Animated Soundwave.
Bumblebee would be like a three hour video😂. I want to do him, Optimus, Megatron, and Starscream eventually, but I think those will be event episodes. A lot of research and prep would have to go into those.
