The (Not So) MANY Toys of Elita-1 - Getting to Know the Figures of Elita-1 from Transformers 

Agreed on both counts. Not to mention, Arcee was a major character for season 3 and had that really sweet small arc with Daniel in season 4, so I think she just wound up dominating the mind-share. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a point where a lot of fans confused Elita-1 for Arcee, what with them sharing a color scheme.

@@ronbondujon9690 yeah I definitely see your points for sure, and I love Arcee’s sweet dynamic with Daniel as well, really deepened both characters imo

@@ronbondujon9690 Which is why I'd prefer Arcee take the brighter pink, and Elita more of a magenta like her Earthspark colors. Or the red and coral that her POTP and Netflix self is. Hell, perhaps even lean into the movie or ONE version, and make her pink purplish.

@@ftfasttalkfoodreviewsyt That would be ideal. Plus, Elita-1 doesn’t have an evergreen design like Arcee does. I think Earthspark had the right idea bulking her out and giving her a SUV mode to contrast with Arcee’s usual silhouette.

@@ronbondujon9690 yeah. She should be the optimus equivalent to female transformers. Not sure if the optimus romance would help to, also giving optimus a little more character, as he's always stoic and doesn't have actual relationships with people.

@@ftfasttalkfoodreviewsyt That’s the thing: Elita-1’s claim to fame was being Optimus’ love interest, but I don’t think that’s the only way to take it. To me, the core of their relationship is that Elita was the person he was closest to as Orion Pax. She’s the only link he still has to the life he used to live, and vice versa. Nowadays, the role of Optimus’ oldest friend is usually filled by Ratchet, but they didn’t meet up until after he was Optimus most of the time. You could tell amazing stories about Optimus, Elita, and Megatron all being the three best friends that fell apart. I don’t really think you need a romantic element, Elita-1 just being the one friend Optimus lets his guard down around is a powerful enough relationship by itself.

I really want to do Slipstream, she’s always been one of my favorites. The only reason I haven’t yet is because I want to wait for the Legacy figure to come out so I can include it in the video. That said, as soon as I have that toy in hand, her video is getting made!

You are speaking my language. I don’t want to be casting dispersions, but a part of me thinks Botcon chose Thunderblast due to her being more obviously feminine in design. After all, we’re only now in the 2020s getting to a point where women transformers are presented as being about as bulky as the men.

@@Cdr2002 One of the things I’ve always wondered about those Botcon exclusives was what would come first between the convention toys and the character designs sometimes. Like, I thought that Botcon would always choose the toys they were going to use first, but from what I understand it was the opposite when they were doing Beast Wars Uprising.

@@ronbondujon9690 yeah I think it might depend from figure to figure. Sometimes, like with most Uprising designs like you said, they seem to have the luxury of choosing a mold to fit a character. Shame most of these never got turned into toys, I would’ve especially been into stuff like the Botanica made from Prime Soundwave or the BW2 Galvatron made from Hunters Optimus. Other times, like Elita, or the randomness of a lot of their very earliest exclusives like a lot of the Beast Wars OCs they created, it does kinda seem like they just got handed a mold. I’m really not sure

Jazz would be cool! Right now, Tailgate is up next, followed by a twofer video with Ransack and Crumplezone, and Sideswipe following them. It may be a few weeks, but I think Jazz would be a great video to work on!

I agree on all counts! I love Legacy Elita the most because of how the figure works, but I do wish she was larger. I think her and Slipstream should be at least voyager size to pair up with other characters better. Of course, the POTP Elita is excellent, and has more of that size you might be looking for!

One I got back in my colleciton to be an unaltered (except probably for paint) figure, coz my first one, I've sorta cannibalized for a semi-desperate plan to convert into a truck. No such luck tho... Legacy Elita, meanwhile, has been relegated to being my take on Dock Head Foreman Ariel//Erial, mentoring the new nerdy rookie (former librarian) that just joined the dock crew

@@reyonXIII That sounds so cool. I wish I had a talent in customizing figures, but I just got way too shaky of hands. I really love the idea of Erial just being a huge nerd on a dock, her and Orion just bumbling around until Dion tell them what a wrench is.

Man, now you have me wanting that, too. I’ll always love Legacy Elita, but she would have looked so amazing with Override’s mold. Also, POTP is still an awesome figure, I like her proportions so much. It was also cool that she was actually a little taller than a lot of the Primes you could pair her with.

Sideswipe would be a good one! So, Tailgate will come out this weekend, and I’ve already committed to someone I’d do Ransack after him. That said, Sideswipe’s going on the list! His video should be out in a few weeks.

She’s a good one, and the only character of the three that didn’t get a “replacement figure” since then. I go like the green on her, for sure.

@@ronbondujon9690 I do hope we see another figure of her since those multipacks are so hard to get. We had some kind of Reactivate take on the way but it’s seemingly cancelled. Major shame, I find her to be a really interesting character in her role as a doctor for soldiers who hates war

@@Cdr2002 There’s nothing worse than being in a world where so many minor Transformers are getting new toys, but some of your pet favorites seemingly never get another go.

@@ronbondujon9690 definitely. If we can get Emirate Xaaron (which don’t get me wrong, also excited for), a simple repaint character feels like a no brainer

@@ronbondujon9690 i definitely recommend it, I got a pre-order in for one right now, it’s like the only one of that wave that isn’t sold out right now. Sadly the price is more expensive since you pay for the retooling and paint but I think we will be glad when we have the definitive Earthspark Elita :)

It’s more just a force of habit. I don’t use scripts for these videos, it’s all just off the top of my head and then edited down. Just as a side note, I’d never use ai for anything in my videos. As for why I kept using “they”, it’s just because I tend to use “they” in real life more often than not. There were points when I used “she” for Elita, I think, but in my normal speech I tend to just use “they” as a way to make things easier, which carried over into this video due to me just yapping.

There have been a lot of good ones. I honestly think any one of these figures could be the best Elita for someone out there! You know, besides the baby one.
