There's something I bet many of us are gonna be thinking: if Bowser is playable in this game and there's a Bowser Space in these boards, how will it work if he himself lands on it?
The Bowser on the maps seems to be a puppet created by kamek as it has double the size and has a purple aura glowing around unlike regular Bowser when he was an NPC in the maps.
Most of these boards are giving me classic mario party vibes (1->8 specifically). The boards are huge / there's 7 of them & theres so much to do on them
Yes and same for Super Mario Party instead of Toadette giving out stars since she's playable again in this game its Yellow Toad shown in trailer so looks like he's playing a role in this game like in Mario Party 9 and maybe also Blue Toad from Mario Party 10 a great change of course the other colored Toads are not playable still but Toad himself is back to be played as at least.
Right now, I’m just hoping that Jamboree isn’t the same “wait through 10 minutes of cutscenes just for getting a star” simulator that the original Super Mario Party was.
I know I've been struggling to beat Wario's Bob-Omb Battlefield in Mario Party 1 on NSO because near the end somebody lands on a Chance Time space and end up costing me a star which is how I end up losing
I've played Mario's Rainbow Castle recently on the original game... BOWSER DOES NOT TAKE YOUR STAR IN MARIO'S RAINBOW CASTLE! He only takes up to 40 COINS from you!
Since Bowser's playable, I wish they had taken the opportunity to create a new villain instead of having it just be Shadow Bowser or whatever the game ends up calling him.
Since toad an and toadette are now playable I guess kamek is running the whole shebang? I also am so curious about bowser. I’m so glad he’s playable but also I love that there’s bowser spaces and boss fights. 2 things I REALLY love about Super Mario Party and that I hope they bring back is the Ally system, and Partner party. I also CANNOT wait to play as a Ninji ❤. I am also glad spike is back as playable, but bummed that it looks like we lost dry bones. Also so curious to see what our turn limits are. I love playing really long games, and in some of the older MP games you can go up to 50 turns. I’d love to know if that’s back too.
I think there's probably a handful of unlockable/hidden characters, because Ninji being the only one excluded from that intro cutscene (I assume that's what that is) would be odd otherwise. "Team Bowser" is also quite a bit smaller than "Team Mario" in that scene, so I imagine the final roster would be more even. Plus Dry Bones is a fan favorite, on the same level as Birdo at least.
@@theunknown1228 If it will be like super then probably around 20% minigames will be motion based give or take. So at least 80-90 minigames will probably be with button controls which is plenty
looks incredible! it looks like the best ideas from Super Mario Party and the things we loved about Mario Party Superstars are packed into a new game! And i am so happy that there are more than 5 boards...
What if Boom Boom's appearance signifies the return of a Boss Rush mode such as found in Mario Party 9? The Bowser battle from the trailer may contribute to a return of this mode
The Bowser battle looks like it's own mode. You can see an Island with a city and a Bowser statue when the characters are on the hot air balloon in the beginning of the trailer. There's also "rounds" in the battle.
Looking deeper I do see more than one Bowser battle, being with Bowser glowing purple everywhere. While this could contribute to a sort of return for Bowser Party mode from Mario Party 10, I think the 'tower defense like' one could still lend itself to Boss Rush as an additional mode. Who knows, we may find out both make a return. We'll just have to wait and see. They even acknowledged the Boss Rush possibility in their first video covering this trailer
@@alexheldmanThe other Bowser "battle" just seems like a chase minigame. Presumably in Koopathalon mode, since that's the segment they showed it in. I don't think there's enough evidence to support bosses being back yet. The UI's naturally gonna be similar, since its a fight of some kind, but it looks way more involved then you're typical boss. I'm keeping my expectations low in this regard.
@@Aktedya1-jt7vw I understand what you're saying, but aside from general playable appearances we see Bowser in 3 circumstances throughout the trailer - as focus of a supposed Koopathlon minigame and at least 2 Boss battle settings. There could even be more, and this is made possible thanks to some past titles creating a small variety of mini games for several bosses. As previously stated we haven't seen very much of what boss battles will be like other than the cannon setup with those two Bowser fights (seemingly on the same board but one in daylight and the other, night) and also who might feature aside from Bowser - if any
with the mario's rainbow map returning from the first mario party the main mechanic IS around getting either Bowser or Toad for the star space, but bowser doesn't take your stars away as described in this video. bowser grants a black star taking a lot of your coins away. it plays the funniest 4th wall break in the whole mario party series with its animation and music distortion. I'm hoping it will be hilarious to see such interacion in HD and with many more new playable characters on the series.
I believe Boom Boom and Lakitu are hosts for each minigame mode in minigame Island (what I believe it is). I think they'll play a similar role as Bowser Jr. With the survival mode in Superstars and Lakitu with Coin Battle, both in Mount Minigames
8:16 I see. If you use the turbo dice, you can't stop at Boo and probably item shops too. Makes sense considering that you can't stop while using turbo to go fast. Wonder if this applies to star spaces too cause I know in the past, there were some items that prevented you from getting the star like the mega mushroom in MP4. So, it's more of a risk vs reward type of deal.
That's a shame, and will probably severely devalue the turbo dice as an item. Mega Mushrooms were already unreliable as a movement item in Mario Party 4, because skipping over the board events really hinders it. With the ability to move anywhere from 4 to 40 (presumably) you can't really predict around where you'll end up with it either.
I dont see the current roster to be the final roster PLUS the opening trailer scene when we see the visible characters isnt the final version since like how Daisy wasnt visble on Mario Party Superstars reveal trailer's opening scene, so i think Bowsers group should have a even number to Marios HUGE group of characters, and since Ninji was visibly shown, i expect him to be available from the start and be part of Bowsers group and that should include 3 more characters, and those said character should be: Dry Bones, Hammer Bro and Pom Pom and i expect 6 unlockable characters, 3 for each group, and can see the following character: Mario's group: Diddy Kong Pauline New Nabbit New Bowsers group: Blooper Chargin" Chuck New King Boo New
Actually, I’m pretty sure this is the first _Mario Party_ where all eight racers from _Mario Kart 64_ and _Super Circuit_ are playable. Fitting, considering one of the new boards is a motor sports racetrack.

I hope they add the other classic boards and some classic minigames from Mario Party Superstars. And maybe even some new boards from the GameCube & Wii Mario Party games
the spaces sending players ahead by a certain amount of spaces sort of remind me of classical board games. Lots of things in Mario Party do that, but still

I want partner party mode. It doesnt need to be like in super mario party where you move freely due to design of the boards but simply a 2v2 team mode on boards. I want to play with friend against randoms online on boards.
Oh dear. Because of Boom Boom appearing on that mode along with Lakitu and a couple of Multi-colored Toads, Koopas and Shy Guys, Pom Pom probably won’t return. Well, gotta have faith in Pauline, Diddy Kong and Dry Bones coming to Mario Party, unless Nintendo does the big surprise just like the final wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

I feel like there's gotta be something that happens when you complete a lap of Roll'em Raceway. There's a start/finish line that has a koopa holding a checkered flag and a traffic light nearby, and there are event spaces that send you forwards
The shop with yellow sparkles in Rainbow Galleria kind of gives me the same vibe as the yellow space in Mario Party 8? Like a garanteed star + coins maybe?
We saw "Evil" Bowser in a purple glow a couple of times in the trailer. It's either a special mode you can't choose Bowser as a playable character, or it's King Boo inside a Bowser puppet as Luigis Mansion 1 :p

The boards are definitely a lot bigger. While Mega Wiggler's seems to be the smallest of the bunch (around 52 space), the rest of them are higher to way higher than any Super Mario Party boards. I mean I counted 86 space in Goomba Lagoon! We haven't had boards this huge since Mario Party 4!! *I'm not counting MP9 or 10 because their mechanics is so different from any other game.
What if that Rocky Wrench poster on Rainbow Galleria is a hint at another board? If Rocky Wrench is the mascot for a board I imagine it's a board set on one of Bowser's airships and maybe the boats and tanks from Super Mario Bros. 3
@Aktedya1-jt7vw I'm aware of that, but just how many minigames are we talking about? If I can't play half of them with 3 friends, it's a big bummer. If it's like 15% of them, then I guess I'm ok with it
I don't know why you wouldn't be able to play the motion controlled games though? At least most of them? The Switch pro-controllers have motion controls 🤷♂️

I'm surprised nobody has talked about Yoshi's design change. He looks a bit hunched ever and his arms rest more forward, like how he looked in Mario Wonder. Even his character icon is different. Am I the first one to notice?

Will they add more boards hopefully Mario party 3 always gets the short end of the stick Chilly Waters Deep blooper Sea Spiny Desert Creepy caverns Are the only 4 likely ones they could pick each looking very distinctive in design waluigi island probably would never return i mean we already have an island theme in the form of a new board so IDK honestly but it's waluigi so anything is possible As for Mario party 2 since we already have a Bowser board so Bowser land will not happen and again we already have a new island board map so pirate land is out of the question So mystery Land is the only board left that hasn't been remade and is different from the rest of these 7 boards Mario party 1 is a weird one given how most boards are either really good or really bad Wario battle canyon isn't coming back ever I'm sorry i think it's too crazy and hard for players to enjoy that one so yeah unless Nintendo doesn't care about that And magma mountain won't come back because we got a new Bowser stage anyway So that leaves eternal star but that'll never happen because that one is even more insane crazy then the wario one So what really is left well it's between DK jungle adventure and Luigi's engine room now the DK one is your basic classic Mario party which i think this game already covers that but I don't think that Matters to Nintendo but Luigi's engine room is the perfect change up gameplay board that fits with the idea of this new game woody woods does it Better but since that one was already remade and this one hasn't i think it has a chance So you have 4 from 3 to choose 1 from 2 to choose 2 from 1 to choose And that's it for N64 returning boards so that's a total of 7 possible returning board's that could come as dlc or a later trailer announcement that says we have more than 7 boards Unless they actually do any GameCube boards doubt it but you never know So yeah i can't wait to see what they could do and it be interesting to see another board come back to even it to 8 at least And hopefully we can eventually add more to make to 10 boards or 12 the More boards the better
I dont FEEL like they would add anymore boards since the direct OFFCIALLY confirms 7 boards in the game, HOWEVER its VERY POSSIBLE that they COULD add unlockable boards since NDcube should of learned from this issues that the customers hated Super Mario Party because of the lack of unlockable boards even thou they only have 1 and besides the direct CLEARLY said the game to be the BIGGEST Mario Party ever so they should add over 8 boards like 9 at least so i HOPE they add 1-2 more boards to fit that promise.
@@courage1363 There was a survey asking if people wanted DLC for Superstars, along with a data mine suggesting they were open to it. So it’s not unreasonable to think they might. But 2 retro boards, especially ones that would’ve fit with Superstars, is weird. So perhaps it’s scrapped DLC they carried over and means nothing. At least there’s more boards now, and they’re classic style boards.
@@courage1363 Yeah I think what they showed is likely the full base game selection, especially with 1 of them being the Bowser board, which is traditionally an unlocked board, right? I welcome DLC though. Plus the boards at a glance have like 1000% more love/detail in them compared to Super Mario Party, so like if we had to have quality *or* quantity, I'm happy with the quality (both would be awesome too obviously).
It looks like at least some boards will have a regular shop, and a Kamek shop. I don't think they'll switch between eachother like Mario Party 3 though
I doubt Charging Chuck will be a character because why is the player's icon Daisy? They can't change characters mid match and their icon would be Charging Chuck (plus he's way too big and would've been shrunk down to normal size if he is a playable character) So Charging Chuck is a possible powerup transformation in that mode
Let's hope that's a trap for the board. I miss the trap orbs and the new games have been missing more attack items like the older games. Also please no gold pipes every time in the shop. It breaks the game. Make it random like the old games and cost 30 coins and no less!
Could there be a possibility that Kamek's shops, rather than traditional items could sell hex-like items instead? Ones that could be used on spaces like hexes from MPDS. Even in Super Mario Party he's the one that adds all the unlucky spaces on the map, so it's not completely impossible, but I guess we'll just have to see!
I have to disagree with you, the way all the characters are positioned it feels like it’s for a mode maybe minigame mode. switch stop talks about it a bit. But Lakitu I could understand being a host here however Boom Boom feels out of place here especially since he’s never appeared in any Mario party
I highly doubt charging Chuck is a playable character. I'm willing to bet that the reason why the name 'Danny" is hovering over him is merely because he is in the way of a playable character that is to his right. Likely, the playable character has been "out" in that minigame.
UUuhhhh unless u never played mario party superstars, lucky spaces are generally broken. you can easily regain coins to get another star/item, get items that can really help you in the long run and i mean good items [even item bags], and they were everywhere.......if anything they are way luckier than that of mp8 and trust me ik those spaces take u many coins and a star.

But this game doesn't have the issues that Super Mario Party had, so the title of the game doesn't matter that much yet. And two "remakes" back to back would be kinda lame. The next superstars or whatever it will be may still come later.
The main issue with super mario party was that boards sucked, they were too small and there was only 4 of them. And you were forced to use joycons. Superstars fixed issue with boards by bringing back old boards that are bigger and back to traditional style. Jamborees boards are more like in superstars and youre not forced to use joycons so it basically fixes issues first super mario party had so it will be good.
