A good operator always dumps at the top of or on the backside of the dump pile. This operation was after the rebuild because the previous “contracted” operator flipped it. He walked it too close to the outer edge of the bench. The added weight of dirt in the bucket flipped it ,when he swung out to dump. I have pictures of it flipped, plus shoe & tube marks that prove what happened.
This old girl had a tough life from day one. I was the original Marion Company erector when we built her new near Beaver Dam, Kentucky. The contractor went bust half way through the erection job and I got more involved directly than I normally would have. It took us a few days to get her off the erection pad because the concrete pad came with the tub. Got so much buildup under her tub the shoes would not go to the ground. Had to keep building up under the shoesto get her to lift enough to take steps. Turns out that the site contractor that the customer (Pyramid Coal) hiredto built the erection site had built thr concrete erectio. Pad on loose fill and it turned to mub under it. That explained why we had to keep re-leveling the machine as we erected it. In the end she was a good machine. Then came the move and later flip over. She looks good here.
