My wife and I are engaged in commencing a micro farming enterprise. we have been working towards this for a few years now. We certainly know what it means to try to head in a direction that appears so obvious but so few people around us appear to yet be aware of as an option. Your book found its way in to our life (a purchase not a gift *lol*) and wanted to say thank you. The information was indispensable in helping us to formulate our business plan going forward. It has helped us to not feel overwhelmed and to keep our focus on the simple steps we need to take. This series of videos was a spectacular addition to the book and gave the additional touches we needed to have confidence that we have reasonably understood what you have shared. Thank you so much to you and your wife for your desire not only to "do" but to "share".
Hi my Names are Rogan Mutangala from Africa particularly in Namibia I always watch an inspiration workshops mentoring and coaching on RU-vid Thanks alot keep up good work of facilitation am learning alot thanks.
You are my celebrity. My partner and I have just purchased a 3 acre lot just outside Almonte Ontario, and will have a home built on it in the fall. Our dream is to be self-sufficient and to have a small homestead that includes growing all types of crops and having goats and chickens. I hope to meet you one day and I look forward to reading your book cover to cover.
This guy is so great we are studying his book in my agriculture science program in college. Listening to him and reading his book really inspires me to turn an acre into a profit.
i dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost the account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
Hi Jean-Martin, hello from San Diego California, thanks for your videos and inspiration. I'm planning to move to the city's outskirts and do my small farm but first I'm educating my self before making that step, it's such a wonderfull feeling to get in touch with nature and its fruits and to see the rewards that soil gives us when we work it properly.
I am enjoying these videos so much, thank you for sharing all this information! What an adventure you have created. (beekeeper & hobby farmer in Oklahoma, hopeful to enter a local market soon)
Thank you for such a pure gold material. I'd really like to contribute caption translations in my native Bulgarian, but this is not allowed right now. If you don't mind changing the setting allowing it - that'd be great. Thanks in advance!
Hi there. Inspiring story. We live in south africa and hope to one day achieve the same you have. I'm an office worker, but gardening. As a kid i used to spend every second weekend on my uncles farm, however lack knowledge and experience. What would suppoze be the best, frist travel as you did to learn the ins and out, or start trying something? One of the comments said you have a book, where can one get a copy.
Hugelkulture is one of many ways to bring carbon back into the soil. This method increases soil carbon as well. If all big-ag switched over to methods like this or similar to this, the world would be far ahead of where it is now. A step in a positive direction is good progress. Multiple answers will bring the most change.

Notice what he says about the value of interns. Anyone experienced in business knows that interns and any new employee has negative value. Yet, the government in Canada decided that interns must be paid a minimum wage. So, now you can't get internships in Canada.
Do you guys share a copy of your business plan to be able to use as a template? I'd like to do the same but it would be amazing to have a good starting point...I'd pay for a copy!
I would like to do this in southern Arkansas but I don't think we have the market in the Deep South that you would find in more progressive parts of the world
Perrin Partee you will never have the market in the Deep South if nobody ever introduces it to the Deep South!! Someone has to be the first to start it so may as well be you but I’d venture to say it’s already there and you just don’t know about it. My in-laws are in south Mississippi and it has been there for some time already and we also have family in Dierks but I’m not sure about that area yet. Take the ball and run with it!! Good luck
People, to put things into perspective for me. Kindly let me know what is the typical earning per acre per year so that it becomes a bit clear if $100k is good or very good.
In the us, for a csa mixed vegetable farm the average is 17,500 per acre, for something like grain farming it’s only about $300 per acre which is why the only way to make real money with traditional farming is to have massive acreage.
When you BUY land in the US.... you are only buying the right to be present on that land. You really do not understand that you truly do not OWN that land. The city and county OWN that land ,and can tell you what you can and cannot do with it,.
@@samuelgamato971 Yes Neo. Wow. I haven't logged into this account in three years. And I see that only five days ago, you responded to a three-year old comment. Just wow dude. That's the ONLY youtube notification I have on this account for the last three years, too.
@@samuelgamato971not really, no. There are zoning laws sure but plenty of states and counties don't have many rules anyone would care about. Just normal expected rules like you can't dump poison into the water
+Can101276 Don't forget though, that money is after their business expenses are paid which include their land and home and their vehicles. Also they eat great fresh food and spend very little on groceries.
organics are beyond affordability of those who desperately need it. making lots of money off rich people who can afford and taking holidays doesnt sound like change to me. making a good living is understandable.
