The Marks Brothers (The Underappreciated Super Duo) NFL Legends

Mark Duper & Mark Clayton are over shadowed by Dan Marino's greatness and they shouldn't be...they are better than a lot of tandems so called great duo's in NFL history and Marino would attest to that...They both should be in the hall in my opinion just look at they're numbers, if they would've got at least 1 ring they'd both be already in but that's what handicaps they're worth in the history of the sports as it does Marino, just one he would be top 3 in everybody's list...but the three amigos got busy!

Believe me , we fans in the 80s appreciated there play and marinos passes. Clayton was shifty and Super Duper was speed. In 84 they combined for 2700+ yards and 28 TDs. Thank you Clayton, Duper and Marino. It was a joy to watch you play.

They should be in the HOF ! Clayton can take a 5 yd out 80 yds ! Duper always ran the go route ! I'm a BUCS fan but I loved these 2 receivers ! Clayton is my favorite receiver ever because he could high point the ball over 6'3 6'4 DB'S ! They definitely made Marino !

Almost everybody was a fan of Marino, Duper & Clayton in 1980’s, they made me fall in love with football as a kid of the 80’s. The Dolphins 2 minute offense led by Dan Marino was the best I’ve ever seen.

Great point. 46 was to counter Walsh west coast offense. Now take 2 speedster that have man coverage against cb who are b+ once in 16 games. With only Fencik playing deep. Then you have a 6'5 Marino with quick drop that holds the ball to let them run q4 18yrd routes a throws a frozen rope 30yards on the money. Bears had 5 6 times were the let Marino start play the marks knew to just ru slant. The play that I knew my team was going to not go unbeaten was when Marino was under pressure his throw glanced of Blitzer helmet.Bears safety look like he had the ply read but the ball took a different direction tion . Right into one of the kids for a td. Was looking at these Steve Young clips. All these guys think he is greatest all around qb. This dude had talent at rb wr te. He won 1 title in 7 years. Other 6 years he was 5-6

What's ironic about that is that because they were both so good, Marino had options to throw to both of them and that's why neither of them had over 10k yards or close to 100 TDs. Unlike Rice, Moss, Fitzgerald etc, all of which have numbers double that of Clayton and Duper, in TDs and yards receiving. Jerry Rice has almost 3 times as many TDs as Duper or Clayton.

They did this in one of the most physical times for receiver in football. Go up high in the air if you want to knowing you gonna get flip and snack hard before you hit the ground painfully sometimes with a concussion. Pop up ready for the next play or your not in the NFL in those days. Wait a minute T O made the hall of fame. He probably couldn't play in the no protection for the receiver 80's not to many today. They were the best duo in the 80s. They get overlooked because outside of Dan Marino, they didn't have a better team at other positions. They always needed a bell cow to complement that passing attack. AND A DEFENSE, which they once specialized in Outside of 1984, Miami got to only 1 AFC chip with these great players.

The difference is back then , they weren't just fast , but Great route runners and tuff as nails. Back then , they'll played bump and run. Gettin hit all over the field. Today's WR's can't hold their Jocks.
