Would it really be so difficult to get an actual human to narrate this?

Find a drama student who needs a few bucks and ask them to narrate. It would make a world of difference.

The Baltimore went into British Service after Dunkirk. The aircraft was used in Malta for reconnaissance and bombing. A famous pilot was Adrian Warburton - a wing commander at the time of his death. Warburton's War, a great book worth a read, he was a recce pilot but shot down German and Italian aircraft in the Baltimore

My mothers brother flew one of these as part of the RAAF from an airfield in Egypt during WW2, carrying out bombing raids on Italy in 1944. Sadly, he and his crew were killed during a fighter evasion training exercise when the engines stalled. He was only 21

Martin also built a fighter-bomber named the "Mauler." I too was a top quality performer but little if anything is ever mentioned about it. I flew one and its performance was well worth mentioning.

Why does the narration alternates the way the model, or “mark” is read? Sometimes reads MK I as “‘Em-Kay-One”, to later read MK III as “Mark three” (the correct way) to then revert to “Em-Kay”. That, and the way Roman numerals are read as letters is triggering as heck 😂

Way back in the 1970s I made an Airfix model of what I think was called a Hampden bomber (or similar). It too was very skinny and had that weird stepped shape on the lower fuselage. Any connection ?
@sabrekai8706
@sabrekai8706 Год назад
I build a Baltimore model, Frog I think it was. I remember "flying" it around in the park near my home. That would have been 1966 or so. I'm surprised there are no larger scale models of it by the mainstream companies. Special Hobby did both the Maryland and the Baltimore but other wise it was mostly vacuform kits. .
@truthhurts9241
@truthhurts9241 Год назад
@@sabrekai8706 Blimey, vacform kits, I remember being to scared to get one. Didn't know how to get the bits lined up properly. In my defence, I was just a kid. Frog models haven't heard that mentioned in donkey's years. Getting old and arthritic's a right bummer isn't it.
@sabrekai8706
@sabrekai8706 Год назад
@@truthhurts9241 You got that right. Retired two years ago, the bod is falling apart. Trying to paint figures or handle the endless numbers of tiny bits is rough. Can't count the number of bits (Plastic and PE) that have gone into low earth orbit. Hard wood floors, and I still can't find most of them. As for vacuforms I've collected about 12-18 of them, all 1/48 scale. Most have been superceded by good injection kits. Some, the B-47, the Neptune and some WWI stuff is still worth doing. I did a Yak 38, turned out pretty good. The nozzles were way off but the kit came out when all that was available was fuzzy photos taken from intercepted aircraft.
@truthhurts9241
@truthhurts9241 Год назад
@@sabrekai8706 I'm just getting back into models after a great many years, people keep buying them for me as they can't think of anything else for Xmas. Got a good few Airfix to practice on but treated myself to a posh kit. Trumpeter's Challenger 2, over a tenner for a 1/72! This thing better have bells on it and make the flipping Tea. (Edit... just remembered that Challengers have the obligatory Boiling Vessels so yes it can make the Tea but you know what I mean.)

No, the Hampden was a British design from the Handley Page company that first flew in 1936. Nicknamed the Flying Suitcase by it's crews it was narrower than the Baltimore at only 3 feet wide but could be considered similar in appearance to it.

I hate to say but I couldn’t make it half way through the video because of the poor presentation. There is too many small things that shows the narrator has no true knowledge of this subject. A good example is the machine guns used. They are referred to as 303 British and 50 caliber not 7.7 and 12.7mm ( the US M2 50 caliber is actually 12.5mm, the 12.7mm was the USSR’s heavy machine gun). The narration sounds like it is straight from a portly written book by someone bored to death.
