This guy is much cooler than the current "plastic face" Burger King version. I'll bet some executive eventually decided that it's better to have a plastic face Burger king so anybody can play him and they're not dependent on a certain actor.
I say a 3D animated one would’ve been better, given the technology we have. The Robe is fine if it’s aimed towards adults, but I feel the use of the head based on their BK helium tank masks really doesn’t help.
@@NoPawnis right! Richard "Dick" Gjonola was well chosen for the role of the Burger King in the ads, as he was BOTH a singer AND a magician in addition to being an actor.

1977: Introducing the king of fun...the one that's okay with us kids...the Magic Burger King! 2024: (same intro as 1977, except the Magic Burger King doesn't show up, and the plastic face comes out and pretends to be the OG) Original kids from the commercial (now adults): Wait a minute--
Wow I remember that commercial as a kid, I aso remember that the onion rings we're bigger back than and better tasting too. I'm so glad I got to experience those days 🤔
I just noticed that there was a squeal when the balloons inflated. I love that, because I have $synesthesia and I "hear" objects that are cute and/or shiny squealing at me.
0:04-0:07 "The one who's okay with us kids!" WTF? Was there some kind of big anti-kid sentiment in the '70's that the Burger King acted as a refreshing change of pace from?
Kids thought that the cartoon Burger King was cute and liked him better than The Magic Burger King but only because he came first but as realize The Magic Burger King is meant to be a similar idea to the McDonalds' restaurant's Ronald McDonald and also with spinoff characters like the McDonald land characters but maybe they never went to having a Burger Kingdom because that might have pushing it.
