They had the perfect franchise. They had infinite stories. They didn’t have to do story boards. A comic book is a story board. They had infinite money. They have access to the greatest actors in the world. The levels of incompetence is unbelievable.

The Marvels literally steals the plot of Spaceballs, with them vacuuming up atmosphere.

They stole the idea of multi-dimensional story arcs from the Star Trek The Next Generation ending episode. Where Picard flashed back between the far future, the point where he first took command, and somewhere in the middle. But this mess is sans John De Lancie (Q) so it simply sucks and is a moronic mess of warmed over cliched ideas without any of the acting prowess that carried Star Trek.

Too be fair, Brie looks pretty damn good in that white tank top. At least she worked out for the role and get helluva toned. Most actresses don’t even do that in their superhero roles.

It just sucks that they're making these movies for people who don't even care about the comics and calling the true fans like me "toxic" simply for enjoying good stories. Blaming us for being disappointed instead of doing anything about it.

There was 1 review about how "unabashedly girly" it was that there was a musical number, which ALMOST got me interested... until I asked myself "WTF's so girly about a musical number"?!

Of all the Marvels' reviews I've listened to...this one makes the best use of titular. What does it say about a film whose most likeable character is the one from a Disney show that nearly no one watched? It says... it's crap.

I can't think of a movie Larson's been in that I've seen and thought she was a good actress. I didn't actually hate Captain Marvel but it was fine to watch once, at least for just the story, but her performance in it was way overshadowed by the much better actors in the movie. But where she icks me the most were in those interviews with other, and much better, actors from the Avengers movies. None of them seem like they like her. Even in the clip you showed, Don Cheadle was trying to move away from her. If even her costars don't like her, she's probably not a good actor, or at least good to work with which makes me question her real life personality. I don't know her, obviously, but from what I've seen, I don't like her.

The funniest part about this all is that the Marvels is most likely going to be outperformed by the Five Nights At Freddy’s movie which had a much, much smaller budget and was specifically made to only appeal to fans of the games

The worst part in this movie is the Romance between Kamala Khan(Isis agent) and Captain Marvel 😅, they don't even have a back story prior to this, yet they male it cringy

. This is why i dislike the marvels. I am a major Marvel fan. They took the decades of rich history of Ms. Marvel who becomes Capt. Marvel to honor her mentor Mar-vel. (A male) They Ignored all of the history the comics created from her. Our amazing African American Marvel who held the title and her powers was all Light based. AGAIN ignoring all her history in comics she has for over a decade. Then the young Ms.Marvel which is a Inhuman NOT a mutant or some fancy bracelet powered kid..A third time ignoring all the comic history.. As a Comic reader from decades of reading these characters I am mad that the MCU/Disney ignored the history of these women and made them a dumpster 🔥. The writers a open Male Hating Feminist hired by Disney/Marvel. SO here is my RANT: Note just my opinion.. "Disney has turned every movie after End Game into 💩. No one is doing anything right. It is like some cash grab and screw the story. And more movies are being written as feminist leads and not anything to do with comic book Characters rich history of the decades that started in the 60s to now. NOT ONE of these writers has done any research of character history. ZERO NOTHING.. It is all on what sounds politically correct, race swapping, and feminist roles.. This is all on Disney and Marvel taking the history of characters "FANS" love and 💩 canning the source of the characters for some politically bull💩 and feminist agenda. BOTH Marvel/Disney and DC/WB's are doing this in a epic dumpster 🔥 just to make quick 💰💰💰.. Why even bother going to the movies anymore. For me, X-Men Days of Future Past was the endgame for superhero movies. It was the ultimate sweet spot of comic book adaptations. There have been a few exceptions like Logan, Deadpool and Infinity War.

One problem with properties based on old comic books is that you get really bloody stupid names created by hack writers in a hurry. If it’s just a somewhat interesting comic book I hardly care, if it’s a huge expensive movie that’s not very good, a name like Skrull (just skull with an added R) sounds as annoying as nails on a chalkboard (not that very many young people are familiar with that sound, what with dry-erase boards and markers now being ubiquitous). Hearing or reading Dar-Benn drains my will to live: it’s a painfully stupid name.

When the best part of your movie is a chubby teen who squeals constantly and acts like a hyperactive 5 year old, what did Marvel expect 😅

Saw the trailer (and 45 minutes of other ads) at the FNAF movie. Gurl power? Naaah. Not going.

The Ms. Marvel show was actually not bad because i went into it thinking "This is a show about a fangirl kid getting superpowers." And that made it a bit better for me. Iman Villani isn't bad, but writing and bad plots they put her in suck. They should being putting these younger characters in a young Avengers show or film or something. And make it small and low-key. Enough of the multiverse shit.

Fan from the beginning who happily quit Marvel early in Phase 4. Just rewatched Endgame & laughed out loud when Brie showed up & posed w her lesbian hair cut. She will be great looking for a few more years. This movie looks comically awful.

What is it with these reviews that just cut off without any kind of closing. It's not quite in mid-sentence, but it definitely gives that impression. I know a couple other guys who do that. How about a "thanks for watching, i hope you will join my again" at least, of if not an actual conclusion. It just doesn't sound like the end of the video, but then it just ends.

I personally enjoyed the film. I thought it was a fun ride. Some of the comedy I found funny, I liked how the villains intentions were tied to the first film and the chemistry between the 3 cast was great. Stuff I didn't liked was the villain was generic despite having a good motivation and some of the comedy was a bit miss for me. Overall it's an alright film it doesn't have to be the greatest film ever made. I hope Brie Larson continues to play Captain Marvel but if wants to leave I completely understand. Besides I probably would quit to if I was being harassed by toxic people on the Internet

How do you fail at story telling when the story is already written for you in comic books.

Anytime a movie makes over a billion dollars, you cant really call it a flop. I mean can hate it, but thats like saying the ps2 was worst selling console cause youre an xbox fanboy. Those 2 things just dont line up. So the first marvel wasnt a flop, it just sucked.

well hopefully Lucas film is getting the hint because this is all part fo their family now. maybe they will rethink putting out a "Rey" movie and reshoot teh Acolyte with a new director. those 2 projects are going to tank and i hope they understand that. if they want to test teh market with a "rey" movie then they can go ahead, maybe this is what they need to understand that we dont want this shit. Rey Movie cannot peak of $600 million , which is actually a colossal failure for an episode level star wars movie, so maybe they need the market to tell them but i hope they would take a hint from their sister company Marvel.

I completely agree with everything you said, except the point about the Costs and the needed box office. Your Box Office number of 275 Mio is the OFFICIAL Number from January, before ANOTHER round of reshoots, reediting and new CGI... So realistically thats at least 50 Mio on top. But lets be modest and say its only 25 Mio in additional costs. That means 300 Mio budget overall. And you also forgot to mention the Marketing costs. Normally for a Disney Blockbuster its around 50% of the production budget. But because there wasnt a promotion tour, lets say its only 100 Mio. Means the overall costs are AT LEAST 400 Mio, and I wouldnt be shocked if the real number is closer to 500 Mio. But lets go on with 400 Mio. Disney gets around 55% of the US Box Office, 45% of markets like Europe/South America/Australia/Japan/South Korea and so on... while only getting 25% from China. This Movie will most likely have a split like basically all Marvel Movies of 55-60% international and 45-40% domestic. Means a realistic number is something around 47% revenue for Disney. Long story short... this movie will need AT LEAST 850 mio to break even, and I wouldnt be shocked if the real number would be near 1 billion! Problem is... this Movie tracks like 40% behind Ant Man 3... means a realistic Box Office estimate is around 300 Mio, unless this Movie has crazy legs and can hold his opening Numbers for several weeks. Is anyone thinking this is realistic? So 300 Mio means around 150 in revenue for Marvel against a 400 Mio budget. You can do the math how much money this thing will cost Disney...

I grew up on comic books and love comic book movies. My feels are hard to locate much less harm and I don’t care if the sup I’m watching has a gender other than my own. That whole feels thing being hard to hurt and all. So if according to established power levels if a ultra powerful sup brushes aside a normal everyday guy it’s to be expected. Such is the math. Marvel was to.d by many a critic to change up its formula but each time it’s tried they’re told no not like that which must be frustrating to say the least. Women would like more representation but no not like that says the hyper sensitive guy. Talk about a rock and a dumb place….
