What sucks is that Carol Danvers in the comics (back in the 80's and 90's at least) was a good character. She was a mostly background character, who never really found a home, but she always made the story interesting when she showed up in X-Men comics. Rogue actually got her powers (and half of her personality and memories) from Carol Danvers in a fight before she became a member of the X-Men.
I have two boys and two girls. We watch a lot of super hero movies around here. My kids all love Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy in the Spiderverse movies, but can’t be bothered to even remember who Captain Marvel is. You can have diverse characters. You can have compelling black heroes and female heroes. They have to be well-written, that’s the thing that Disney seems to miss every time. There are no shortcuts to strong female characters-they have to have weaknesses and triumphs and like…an actual story arc? You can’t just skip that and say these are good characters by merit of being *insert diverse trait*
This crap started when they emasculated Thor. They made Samuel Jackson the nice uncle in the movie, trying to emasculate him as well. It was all about Girl Power, touchy feelings. Emotional intelligence and communication. LOL. Yet, the majority of people that watched this film were males. What does this sound like. The WNBA. Women want our support when they don't even believe in it.
I find it ironic. The left, which i was a part of until recently(Now independent). Is about CRT, yet they are changing the history of characters for a storyline. Hmm.

Damn...welcome back! Haven't seen you for a bit...though if you ended up in the comments to the last video I must have just missed you. As always, glad you like it! One of these days, as the channel grows (hopefully) I'll do some streaming stuff so I can talk to you guys in real time about this stuff. Would be a blast. And yeah...just out of the blue the previous video took off for a few days and got 16K views so far (which makes it my second biggest video behind the trailer review for SISU weirdly enough) and 150+ new subs. Kinda' weird, but I appreciate the votes of confidence. As for Burr, well...I've always been a fan BUUUUUUUUT, I've always known it was an act. The guy's a Massachusetts lefty who's lived in NY and California. The idea that he was ever Archie Bunker is silly! Doesn't make his bits any less funny, but the idea that he believed all of that the way fans did isn't true. I used to listen to his podcast 2x a week and then stopped in the summer of 2020 because I knew it was gonna' become a shit show. The thing with his wife from a week ago is 100% par for the course. The WNBA bit is just so spot on though because it's the exact same mindset. It's always 'so important to have representation' but never important enough to do a good job at it. The best people don't want to work under a suffocating DEI checklist, nor do they want to work with people who do want to work under such checlists.

You know, I've been binge watching Community this week and suddenly Brie Larson popped up as Abed's new girlfriend. At almost the same time I got a huge leg cramp that totally distracted me from watching the show. Thank God for leg cramps!
