This movie might have been a good opportunity to introduce Rogue and have her absorb Captain Marvel's power. This not only would have humbled Captain Marvel and given her potential for an interesting character arc, but it would also justify why she has to team up with Monica Rambeau and Ms. Marvel since she'd no longer be overpowered.
1. No, it would not have been. We don't need X-Men to be reduced to cheap cameos in awful MCU movies, as MoM and this one already proved to be the case. 2. The MCU won't follow Rogue's comic origin. She either gonna just have the absorbing powers like she did in the original X-Men movies, or they will make her powers from later incarnations as her default powers that are part of her mutation. Like how in the X-Men movies Juggernaut was a mutant instead of that entire backstory of him stumbling into some cave and finding a magic artifact.

I really don't know what the film makers were expecting box office wise. Most people didn't like the first captain marvel film so why did they think anyone would want to see the second one?
There's a reason why they added a terrible song and dance scene. It's to appeal to the Indian crowd. There it doesn't matter if movie is bad (they all are) as long as it sells a single song it's pays for itself.
Thank you for speaking more about Mar-vell and Genis-Vell. Those characters deserve to be the main characters instead of Captain Karen. Still kinda weird that the mcu never even thought about those characters. Especially mar-vell and his history with Thanos.
Well, to be fair and honest, Carol has always been more popular than Mar-Vell and Genis-Vell. Sure, Mar-Vell held his own solo series for about 15 years or so, but low sales really led to them having to cancel and change the book. Carol, as Ms. Marvel, was a bit of a hit, however not strong enough to hold her own continuous title. But she proved to be a lot more fun in team settings, joining the Avengers and the X-men. Mar-Vell has never come back to life and his subsequent children (Genis-Vell, Phyla-Vell and Hulkling) never seem to have the chops to hold a solo series for longer than 3 years. So they went with the only one who COULD successfully endure, who is Carol. However, the movie washes out all of what makes her different and interesting and boosts her powers to ridiculous levels.
@@jerfuhrer2581To add to that Darr-Benn is in fact a gender swapped Ronan the Accuser copy and not a generic villain. I'm pretty sure we got the gender swap, because there's no way a man beating a canonically 16 year old girl a PG-13 rating. True Accuser garb would have also made her a true copy, but the costume was equally lame. I did like the teeth bling though, but only if she was like Cornelius Claw.
@@Highlander48 ??? Did you watch the movies? I'm speaking specifically about Darr-Benn the villain of The Marvels. In the comics Darr-Benn is another hammer wielding Accuser just like Ronan. Plain English Disney wouldn't allow depictions of Ms. Marvel a female teenager getting hit with a hammer by a dude so the MCU made Darr a she. Lastly, Darr's costume is boring, her gold teeth were stylish but she likes the charisma of Cornelius Claw to pull it off. I'm not trying to be funny, but was that not clear?

Man, I actually really liked Ms. Marvel. But the thing that made her cool was that she had stupid weak powers but was really clever with them. I mean, she's dollar store elastigirl, and she has to fight actual threats. That's sick. Giving her op weird light powers is literal character assassination.

My problem with modern MCU, is that they bring in characters that not even hardcore comic fans even know of or like. It seems stupid that they are not hyping up other villains like Galactus, Mephisto, Blackheart (with his comic accurate design), Dr. Doom and many more. As well as beloved heroes who really need to get their own tv shows like, Ghost Rider, Silver Surfer and even Nova, AND they really need to introduce their own X-men at some point and the fantastic four to be the new avengers. Again there are so many ways they can fix this, but I just want to get my point across that they need to stop bringing in heroes and villains that we don’t care about and focus on what made marvel so good in the first place.
Speaking of this film, actress behind Kamala said it best about box office bombing. It was something about Kevin Fiege and all that. Even she explained why multiverse saga and next Avengers movies just don't work when it comes to hype. Also, this movie should have had Rogue from X-Men as the main antagonist.

You know, I‘m more confused what Nick Fury’s Journey was from FFH to now more than I‘m interested in this movie. Like, in FFH he left earth to go to space, replacing him and Maria Hill with only the most competent Skrulls who definitely won’t trust anybody and won’t drag some Teenager into their conflict because all the other heroes blocked them or something. Then he returned to earth after building the JL Watchtower or something only to be confronted by the Skrulls who are mad at him for not finding them a new Home (which is definitely his responsibility) and are now going to cause mass extinction to then live on Earth, which kinda inadvertently vindicated the Kree in Captain Marvel (2019). Then he refused to call the Avengers to help this situation cause this matter is „personal“, only to sent in Gaia to have an CGI fight against a Super Skrull using DNA of ALL the heroes from the Endgame battle like Ghost who was apparently there. Then he went back to space right after the President declared war to all off world species. (Which side-note: does that include Asgardians? Ah who cares they’re going to write it off in some blink and miss it moment anyway like that Celestial from the Eternals). And now after making this whole situation arguably worse in Secret invasion he returned to be….. the comic relief who has to look after cats…. This guy was badass once, right?
Out of all the comic book heroes with the word Marvel in their name, the only one that comes close to having the power levels, that MCU Carol Danvers as, is MarvelMan a British hero from the 50s, now owned by Marvel comics and rebranded MiracleMan. I totally agree that almost any other Captain Marvel would have made for a better movie!
I always thought of that too. Mar-vell could’ve taken Carol Danvers role. Not only Mar-vell but also Hank and Janet. Since they were original avengers in the comics. They could’ve have bigger roles in MCU. I know guys like Mar-vell and Genis-vell aren’t popular as Carol but they do have some cool storylines that could’ve work well on the big screen.
I thought you weren’t going to watch this after the MCU villain problem video as you didn’t say much about Guardians of the Galaxy 3 as in part 4 I suggest that they should have used Moonstone as the villain of the first movie as I would have picked Rosamund Pike to play her. I heard that they changed Khan’s marvel to be a Mutant instead of an Inhuman which probably the real why she was killed off temporarily in a Spiderman comic where they pulled off the Flash season 3 finale and it was unexpected that Carol got married in this movie. Are you going to do a video DC movie villains problem yet because I think you should include pre DCEU movie villains as well like how they used the villains in Superman 3 who don’t even exist like it was supposed to have Brainiac appear in the original script and Nuclear man in the quest for peace is just Bizarro Superman and the Green Lantern movie that was originally going to be the first DCEU movie. When get Thor 4 you should mention about how Gorr doesn’t fit in the movie as he seems like a horror movie monster like Nosferatu and that deleted scene where Zeus was really nice to Thor which was pretty confusing

I don't even understand the Infinity Gauntlet without Silver Surfer. I was collecting Silver Surfer comics when the Infinity Gauntlet first came out in comics. It was amazing. But Silver Surfer was pretty much the main comic it was featured in until it got its own mini-series. Where has the Silver Surfer been? If I remember correctly he also had a big roll in the Secret Invasion. Yes Captain Marvel was involved in this stuff too, though I think he was a guy at the time. Also, the main comic for Secret Invasion was The Fantastic Four. Where have they been? What is going on here?
Captain Mar-Vell or Walter Lawson is a different character entirely. He use to have Carol Danvers as his sidekick, ms marvel. And his love interest. Bur Mar-Vell has a confusing history/past. Id do my own research on that if i was you, too long to explain. But Mar-Vell wasnt ever as popular as when his sidekick took over the mantle in the comics. Id like to think he's out there somewhere. And that Carol has crossed paths with him. He has a few kids in the mcu, with one being introduced in GOTG. Vol.3. He is also the father of Hulkling.
The main comic for "Secret Invasion" was "Secret Invasion." But all of the groundwork laid for it was done in New Avengers, Iron Man and Nick Fury comics. The Skrulls were first introduced in Fantastic Four comics, yes. But they weren't involved in the Secret Invasion event, as the skrulls had them nullified and taken off of the board before making their big move. As for where they've been in the movies, the writers don't know how to make the F4 work in the movies, having seen two franchises fail before. Also, most of the F4's place (space explorers) has been taken by the Guardians of the Galaxy. So they're trying to figure out which stories other than "The Coming of Galactus" to tell. Because if all they have is Galctus and Dr. Doom, you're not going to have a good time.

When I saw the Marvels I was mildly entertained but knew this was going to be a major box office disaster. It seemed more like a half baked SNL parody sketch of a superhero film than an actual Marvel movie.

I liked the idea of Captain Marvel being a failed hero. It makes all the boasting she did in Endgame better because she was lying about other places needing saving being the reason she never returned to Earth. She was just ashamed that she messed everything up by being cocking thinking she knew everything.

It’s sad bc back during the avengers and pre endgame, the theater would be playing mostly whatever marvel movie is out that month. they tried the same thing with this movie but since no one cares about this “film” lots of theater rooms are sooo empty. They could literally have like one or two screens showing the movie a day and their still wouldn’t be enough people to fill it up half way

Now that you think about it - Disney and Marvel are a match made in heaven, cause both are soley comitted to flodding the market. It isn't about creating good content at all, but making sure other brands don't get a chance in the lime light. So they just throw whatever shit out there they can.
Disney is just the company that gets these movies produced. Same as universal movies, or 20th century fox... which both are able to make marvel content.
