Honestly, I’m amazed at how much energy and flexibility this man has. For a dude in his 60’s (honestly looks much younger than that), he has such a stage presence and magnetic energy to him that you cannot help but feel drawn to. Also, is Donny a baritone with a good upper range, or a tenor with a well developed lower range? Because in many of the songs he sings here, he sings in a much deeper voice closer to his speaking voice, which a lot deeper than I expected. Also, I love it when people don’t take themselves too seriously!
Donny has been my heart's desire since I was 5. For 51 years I've followed his career and he amazes me over and over again. He is the ultimate showman. He can sing, dance, act play instruments...he does it all! And he does it sooooooo well! 😊 Love you forever Donny!! 💖💖💖💖💖
I was a fan since I was 6 years old. I knew it was him as soon as he said he'd been performing since he was 5, played the piano, was Michael Jackson's friend, and also, he was holding a statue of a puppy...his most famous song as a child artist was Puppy Love. Then he sang and there's no hiding that voice 🙂
I knew this was Donny Osmond from the first clue that he walked on stage for the first time at 5 years old and when he sang the first note, it sealed the deal.
Donny and I are the same age. I grew up in a time when Led Zeppelin, Doobie Bros., the Eagles Lynyrd Skynyrd and yes…. The Osmond Brothers were in the world performing. What a time to grow up. I loved the records One Bad Apple, Yo Yo, Crazy Horses, solo stuff like Puppy Love etc. I loved Zeppelin, the Beatles Eagles and a good song is a good song. Makes you feel good, sad, happy and now nostalgic. Donny is a class act. God bless him and his family.
I knew it was him from the moment he started singing. I've heard his voice hundreds of times from watching Mulan (1998 version, he was Le Shang's singing voice "Make a Man Out of You") and seeing the infomercial for Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat on TV. Great job sir!!!
By far, one of the best performances the show has ever had in the many years of the show. Wayne Grady takes a vewry close second. [Sorry Wayne.] Both shows were brilliant.
The last thing I heard Donny Osmond sing, is the song from Mulan, I'll Make A Man Out Of You. I kept trying to compare the voice, but Donny is so talented, that he fooled me. 😂
If I didn't miss this show that night, I would have figured it out!!!! Just by the "cape of many colors" and all the clues!!! Been a fan of the Osmonds since I was 12!!!!!
Having grown up listening to this man and his brothers, I knew it was Donny from the first note. The clue about being friends with MJ made me bust out laughing, the Osmonds and the Jacksons were great friends (and rivals) growing up, they (Donny and MJ) would play football in the halls of the hotels they stayed in late at night if they were in the same city. It was MJ that gave him the advice to re-invent himself, though he told him that he should change his name. Donny knew he couldn't do that, but in true Osmond fashion, he took MJs advice to heart and we now see all the hard work of that endeavor. He's fantastic, he'll always be fantastic and the fact that he has new fans because of The Masked Singer just solidifies his presence in the entertainment world that much deeper. I love you, Donny - thank you so much....for EVERYTHING!
Why didn't the Peacock win? Why?!!! Donnie proved himself to be an excellent singer amd performer. Kudos to Mr. Osmond! Still a star after all these years!
Not that I saw, but he gave a ton of Joseph clues that the judges completely missed. Not sure a Disney clue would have helped if they didnt catch onto his most famous role lol
Oh my god... Lol if you go to 7:50 in the video. You will see a distorted face on from either Mulan... It could actually be the match maker, in the peacocks eye!!! VERY CLEVER!
Way Back when his his career was faltering "they" wanted him to be "caught" in a scandal by having TSA finding drugs in his luggage. He refused to be associated with anything like that. He wanted to be noticed for himself.
Who Sang It Better? The Greatest Show: Donny Osmond Counting Stars: Both All Of Me: Both I Can't Feel My Face: Both Let's Go: Both Shake A Tail Feather: Both [Includes the 5-Du Tones]
I know I'm not the only one to notice that this show's first head to head competition was a singer with several decades at the top of his profession against a football player. Not even a fair fight.
He is allowed to have whatever opinions about marriage that he wants to. Some people don’t believe in marriage at all and think it’s just a piece of paper. Some people love that same sex marriage is now legal, some believe marriage should only be between one man and one woman, some believe plural marriages (think multiple wives in certain religions), some believe marriage vows actually mean something & is a lifelong commitment , and others make the vows and think nothing of breaking them/have multiple divorces and get married over and over and over…… Nobody HAS to believe and support the types of marriages you think they should. If he believes in traditional marriage, one man & one woman for life, whether you like it or not, he is a grown man and is ALLOWED to feel that way.
