Everyone shitting on Rudy for that last play (justified) but Ant and KAT have been ass. Ant really is "MJ's son" cause he's looking like Marcus Jordan these past 3 games
Exactly. How are Wolves fans letting Ant off the hook yet again. How is he gassed when Luka is overweight playing on one leg and 10-15 more minutes. He choked a 20 point lead, Ant had the ball at the end and instead of going for a shot he decided to pass the ball to a ghost which gave Luka all that time to dance with Rudy
People are so desperate to call someone the new MJ without realizing why MJ was so special and why he’s the goat. They did that crap with jimmy butler last year. Such flavor of the moment nonsense.
@@Sicknificant1 because 95% of all comments said it when mavs missed the playoffs.. I was on a island by myself saying they just need time and a better supporting cast
@@snowmontana2547 Yeah, you're the only special snowflake who believed this could work. Get over yourself. Nearly every mavs fan knew Kyrie is a good fit. It's just idiotic classic media who called Kai locker room cancer.
No center can guard Luka, nobody in general can. Luka was cooking their whole defense not just Gobert. He is fooling KAT and everybody with his eyes all game.
@@MihoyMinoy-si8fbThe Celtics have had the benefit of being stabilized by playing half empty rosters and the pacers handing them a win. Luka is better than any of their players and will not take pressure off. Celtics have played like shit when teams applied any kind of pressure
I know I feel that ANGST COMING...ugh...I have not been a fan of Kyrie's with all his bullsh*t these last several years but dont know who I'd root for... - signed a Warriors fan
It feels good to watch Luka have a deep playoff run. Kinda became the common theme for him to go ballistic, only to get bounced in the 1st-2nd round (minus the first WCF)
you should feel great as a thunder fan. your team has such a bright future. 57-25 in Chet's first season. WAY more than you could ever ask for. Also, ANT ain't shit compared to Shai.
This game single handedly made me realize how good Luka and ky's games compliment one another. One dynamic unpredictable shot creator + one slow deliberate methodical play maker that just so happens to have wild hot streaks. This could be a dynasty and that is no hyperbole
Kyrie is really thinking the game imagine if he had this mindset when he was on the cavs. But he is really picking his time to do what he wants and then support the shooters and bigs and playing d man im just happy for Kyrie
While the Mavs defense is definitely having an effect he still looks psychically exhausted and gassed. If he played em first round he'd still be attacking the paint and putting up numbers. Mavs defense is definitely playing a part in forcing Ant to pass up shots though so kudos to them.
That was sick af. Luka been getting some extra motivation from being snubbed in mvp voting again. Man isnt even considered even tho every season is mvp worthy
More like 1-2 .. All he needs is working the Double teams and realising when to take it upon himself more (which he has already done in previous series btw). Experience goes a long way in solving these..He could be very different just next year
What worries me about the wolves is that they are getting amazing games from their role players. Jayden 9/15 last game and naz not missing on 3s until the end. You need to win those games especially at home
@@sueprator9314 I’ll take Luka and Kyrie all day over Tatum and Brown in the Finals. I can see Tatum shitting the bed. But both these conference finals aren’t over.
@@jellyfishbrained Not sure what that means. Tatum is a great player. But he’s not Luka. I would love to see someone convince me to take Tatum over Luka.
@@jacobpule6390 I'm just saying he's overrated. Luka outclasses on pure talent. Tatum is obviously a hard worker, but I would take so many other young players over him. We'll see if he can lead the Cs to a chip, but he doesn't really have to be that guy it seems, you get me? I'd like to see him leave and prove the superstar label elsewhere. I think Jalen Brunson is as good in term of skill which makes Tatum underwhelming.
To say now that Nuggets would beat Mavs, well, remember that Dallas with this same squad beat Nuggets on the buzzer with the Martian hand of Kyrie Erving
I think the nuggets took a bit of a step back this season. Feels like the front office was very complacent after winning the chip. Pretty obvious that Mavs are the best team in the west once they made they improved their team mid season
The big thing here is that Luka is the real deal. I wouldn’t rule out the wolves stealing 1 game. But it feels near impossible that Luka will allow the mavs to lose 2 straight at home
Mavs are doing a really good job of making ant and Kat work on both sides of the floor while Luka and Kyrie do get put into a few play but not as many, you can see how tired Ant is getting
Major props to the Mavs Bigs..they have been huge throughout this playoff runs…they dont take unwanted shots, they fighting for rebounds and and hustle plays and goddamn they are great at finishing lobs also they each playing 20-25 mins so they going all in when in court..gotta love them..Lively gonna be a major asset for Mavs and a core piece with luka for years…he is the kinda Big GSW was expecting Wiseman would turn out to be
Huge props to Kyrie, not just for this series but this year in general. No drama, just hooping str8 up. Tbh I didn't expect him going to Dallas would be something that could work, but I'm really glad he is doing well and giving us exactly what we want from him. Win or lose, he done really good this year.
Games like this one are decided by the superstars. Kyrie missed those FTs, but he made the clutch 3 and played great defense all game. Luka is on one leg at best and still puts up a triple double. Props to Minnesota for keeping it close, but KAT and Ant have to step up.
Ant needs to be 100x more aggressive if the twolves want to do anything. I don’t understand it because Everytime he makes him self a threat the twolves are amazing. But if he’s not he’s just standing at the top of the key
As a Mavs i feel like what we are struggling with is giving a massive lead for the other team if we make the finals i don't think we can afford to do this to the celtics or pacers
As far as I know there isn't anyone on Minnesota with championship experience. But Dallas has Kyrie who does and their coach Jason Kidd does too. I think it helps a bit.
I LOVE Ant, im from atlanta, wanted him in Atlanta and everything but his last 5 games he is 18/57. He isnt on SGA, Luka, Jokic, Giannis and Embiid when healthy tier yet and it only gives haters fuel when we try to force him there. He WILL get there but this is his first real playoff run
In defense of Gobert's defense, he is only able to react to Luka's initiative, and Luka is basically unguardable in that situation. Also the Mavs shouldn't let themselves get down by 18. But still, a win's a win. Luka is certified clutch.
Anthony Edwards has been shooting terribly and KAT is playing scared... any comeback lies within Ant shooting better than how he's been shooting, KAT growing a pair to play center, and the role players doing exactly what they are doing now
It seems like the wolves used all their emotional energy in the first round vs the suns and then especially in the second round vs the defending champion nuggets and they've kind of crashed and are struggling to find that spark again in the middle of this series. Luka and especially Kyrie have had the experience of big time playoff moments in the past but this is the entire wolves roster's first time basically and it's starting to show. They used up all the emotional gas they had through the first two rounds, you can see it in Ant especially. His body language these first two games is nothing like it was the first two rounds.
Boston rotation is trash compared to Mavs but Boston has a few weapons so I think it will be a good matchup. I think if Mavs can win this series they can definitely win a series against Boston.
Try Bam. But Wemby has more to his game for sure and is bound to win down the road. It’s just embarrassing Gobert has the DPOYs he has with Bam, Draymond and AD being in the league at the same time
For all y’all mf saying ant and Rudy cost wolves this game is total bs. Did Rudy get cooked by Luka? Yes, but all throughout the game Rudy played great. Ant shoot horrendous, but you can’t really blame him because he was their only shot creator, and every time he drives to the paint all the defense focuses on him while his teammates are literally just sitting and waiting for the kick out. Also where the hell was kat?
I’m not counting Minnesota out just yet cause they’ve generally been better on the road this year, but it’s gonna be tough for them to avoid 0-3 on the road
Jason Kidd is so bizarre to me man. I think he’s actually a very good head coach, but in the regular season, he overthinks too much. In the playoffs though, he’s brilliant. You can tell he spends a lot of time forming a plan for each game, and his execution is excellent. I’ll be honest, as a mavs fan, I’ve called for his job before, and he’s proved me wrong. Maybe he isn’t the best in the regular season, but in the playoffs, few coaches I’d rather have than J Kidd
I can only imagine what was goin thru Rudy’s head on that play. He’s been in that situation so many times, I KNOW he KNEW he was COOKED the MOMENT that screen came 🤣🤣 you could see it in his face, he tried his hardest I promise you 😅😅
McDaniels getting fouled with 47 seconds to go and then they review it and give it to Dallas is an absolutely brutal bad beat. In thin margin games Minnesota keeps fucking up but also getting fucked over by terrible reffing. Conley getting shoved and chocked all over the place and they never call anything. Totally inexcusable loss for Minnesota and the refs
@@franklinfisher497 yeah, I can understand a "hands tied" kinda thing, but they also missed 2 blatant fouls on Mike Conley in about 30 seconds during a quick break possession in a critical spot. The margins are so thin that these 2 point swings have been the difference in both games. Like 2 coin flips go the other way and we're talking about the Wolves being up 2-0. But I'm sure all the Mavs fans will rush in to explain why winning by 1 point is actually a blow out
@@nickwilson7241They also missed an obvious foul on kyrie by Ant, man was practically hugging him and nothing was called. We can all cry over fouls. I feel for you with that Mcdanields call, I really do - but it's not the ref's fault, they were going according to the rules. It's rhe rules that are stupid and should be changed.
Kyrie has been the difference maker this series the number one defense literally has no answer for him if the run drop he’s killing them in the mid and when they blitz he somehow gets past them. Of course the lob threat from gaff and lively have made this dynamic offense possible
Dallas this year is what the Nuggets were last year. Offense can turn up whenever and they play crushing defense when they have to. The Mavs defense is even better than that too. Luka gonna get that first ring this year
I hate working while the games are happening. One moment it’s 57-36 or whatever and then the mavs are 2 points down, then the games over and the Mavs take the dub lol.
I love the people saying Edward’s just needs a few more years to develop. Luka is only three years older than him. Do I need to remind you all what luka was doing at his age? Edward’s is basically Jaylen brown. Good player, not a superstar, borderline all star
When Luka plays mid and Kyrie destroys the Celtics in the finals. I will cry. Tatum/White on 1 year deals, brown/jrue overpaid, horford/zinger are old and hurt
It's been rough but the Mavericks are really doing well. I don't know what's going on with the Wolves maybe it's the youth and inexperience playing a factor but they are keeping it close they just haven't been able to push themselves to the next level and the two stars have just been non-existent. Both benches have been showing up in this series both teams are doing good defense but really, Luka/Kyrie are just showing up when there team needs them and Ant/Kat aren't I don't know if their essence was stolen from them for Space Jam 3 or what but neither have been good since Game 7 in Denver.
@@sueprator9314 nobody was crowning him they were just comparing his playstyle and mentality to Jordan. Which is accurate. That doesn't get tossed out the window because he's having off games. It means the ingredients are there for a great player. I don't like how NBA fans are such prisoners in the moment. Someone goes from being god like to being trash so quickly. I understand a meritocracy but not in such a short window. I just like good basketball. It be nice if Ant and Kat were on their game and maybe they will be able to win on the road - who knows. Then we'll be hearing about how Kyrie and Luka are somehow trash in spite of also being incredible.
It’s crazy how lot of y’all said kyrie and luka wouldn’t work lol they were only bad last season cause they had no wing defenders or rim protection around them…after the gafford and Washington trade they were a lock for conference finals
@@kristoferadams9771 this current mavs roster was busting everyone before the seson ends which is why they managed to climb up the rankings lmao. Celtics aren't a threat to anyone in the west bro. Wolves, mavs, denver can easily beat them😂 that's how pathetic the east
Naz Reid was doing nothing in the paint... Full sprint he should have blitz giving aid to Rudy. If Luka passes out then live with someone else winning it. Gobert doesn't have the foot speed to deal with Luka out there. BAD HELP DEFENSE. Wolves and Pacers both have a lot of work to do.
As soon as that shot went in I knew everyone would to put all the blame towards Rudy but forget ANT threw the ball away to give dallas one last shot...He deserves just as much blame as Rudy maybe even more, dude 22 and getting oxygen on the sideline in the WCF nah guess he aint built for long playoff runs...that denver series was their championship
My biggest issue with the game was that the timberwolves do not know how to defend a pick and roll. The amount of times that they refused to switch or hedge the screen or drop instead of pressuring is asinine. Gafford and Lively and Luka and Kyrie all ate on these pick and rolls. Despite this, the wolves were a Naz Reid shot away from winning this. I think this series is closer than the outcome indicates. The Mavs aren’t necessarily a 2-0 better team than the wolves, they just executed MUCH better and Kyrie and Luka’s experience is shining through. Regular season ball is 80% better team / 20% better execution, playoff games are 50/50 with regards to this. It’s only 16 wins needed so execution game-by-game matters so much.
Lets just call a spade a spade, there were too many people ready to crown ant as the playoff goat (i mean people even were putting out merch with MJ Kobe and Ant being the evolution) and yet again, it's a matchup thing.
I call it Willful Blindness. I said this was a bad matchup for Minnesota and its why people called me delusional for picking MAVS IN 4. Why did people refuse to see the obvious! I don't know. Still, MAVS in 4
Takeaways. Mavs really need that 3rd scorer. Either pj or djj will do. They needed to comeback for this win. They need another consistent bucket getter. Wolves. Atp were all wondering where ant and kat's games are. They needed mcdaniels and reid to go ballistic on the 3pt line to have a chance at winning. Im not talking sweep. But luka is a constant atp. Kyrie scoring 20+ is a constant. Mavs defense also a constant. Unfortunately for the mavs, that 3rd scorer isnt. Dont get me started with their 3pts. With the wolves, whether you have that role player whos gonna step up constantly, is a good thing or a bad thing, is up to you. But if theyre gonna be your best player? Forget about winning. Ant needs to be a constant bucket getter along with Kat. But theyre not doing that. Rn ill give wolves that game 3. I think theyre gonna start hot with Good D. Now, they always need to be careful of that 3rd quarter. Going into 4th if you have the lead and its a close game, beware cause history might repeat itself
@@TYLERbOONE1080we don’t know that for sure. Yes Jokic matches up better with the Mavs than the Timberwolves, but Kyrie and Luka also have way better matchups vs the Nuggets. It’s dumb to say they’d beat them based off literally how another team is playing.
@@TYLERbOONE1080 fck no jokic would be the only one doing the work for them. I swear yall underestimating this mavs roster, its really well built. This a bonifide championship roster.
