Even after accounting for the rise in the average points scored per game in recent years, Luka + Kyrie's production is INSANE offensively.

If any one of them had actually been paying attention to the Mavs after the trade deadline they'd know that they're a serious team. They won most of the games that they played after that. If they had brought PJ and Gafford in at the start of the season they could have very much ended the season at the top of the leaderboard.

Lukas been playing with 4 different injuries most of the playoffs and had he been healthy Dallas would've dominated this playoffs even more. Anyone that thought the trade deadline Mavericks couldn't beat these team's clearly don't know ball. The only missing pieces LuKai needed was one more big and a 3 and D defender and they got a absolute stud in PJ Washington. Dallas has had the number 1 defense since the trade deadline along with a amazing offense that will pick you apart. The jokes on everyone else that looked past them.
The thing is, if you're suddenly watching Luka in the playoffs thinking he's taken a step up, you're not paying attention. He's doing what he always does, it's just the role players are stepping up. Luka dragged the Mavs through the season and luckily the likes of Washington, Jones Jr., Gafford and Lively are rising to the occassion.
Luka Doncic has more GOAT potential than every other active player. He won the scoring title and is 1st all-NBA five years in a row, and is second only to Michael Jordan in playoff points per game in NBA history, which is huge. And he is only 25.
Can't compare across eras though. MJ played in an era where it was more difficult to score, offensive stats are inflated due to playing style and rules changes to favor the offense. What Luka is doing is amazing nonetheless but MJ is still the superior player at the same age.

Series isn't over yet, but I think the fact Dallas is even still competing speaks volumes.

I'll be honest. I've never watched the NBA seriously and decided to watch this years play-offs following the mavs because I feel in love with Kyrie's handles. At first I had the preconcieved idea that Luka was great and insane with clutch shots and his step back, but felt that maybe his tripple doubles were inflated thanks to "this era of basketball" and that he was a big big flopper. All I can say is that the more I watch every single game, the more I see how the media literally ignores him or how the bad traits I've stated before are greatly exagerated. This man should have been in the discussion of MVP every single year of his carreer in a more prominent fashion. I can only hope they make it even further in the play-offs this year so the public eye gives him more credit
