I caught a live show from the Mavericks in summer of 96 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Junior Brown was the opening act and he went out there & tore it up. Mavericks kept up the energy and it was a great night. Speaking as a former 101st Airborne soldier, we appreciate what they did that night. Our Commanding General did a special presestation, making the Mavericks, Junior Brown and his band honorary members of the 101st Airborne Division. They earned it! Air Assault!
Love this video: the energy, the mischievous grins, the music. And I absolutely love how they transmorgify these sad thoughts/words into a butt kicking happy experience. You cannot be sad singing this song with this band! Thank you!
I keep coming back here time and time again to listen to, and watch these guys. They always make me smile, and what a GREAT performance! .... Absolutely love it!
Amazing. As I discovered this song tonight couldn't stop listening over and over again. Fascinating Raul's voice, smile, eyes , energy, brass section. Bravo to the band. Excellent!
This Band is great. I listen to lots of country, blues Kid Rock ect. I don't know why these guys don't get more air time on the radio. Good job guys, keep up the good work.
Awesome band...I saw Raul Malo in concert twice.I would like to see him more times. I just love him for what he represents and his songs mean a lot to me. He's the best singer of all time...may 4 Chicago.

I've loved this band since 91! This music brings me back to such a better time when I was in my early 20s and I drove a hot rod truck everyone called, "The Banana", a 63 Chevy step-side I painted Tremclad spraybomb yellow haha! She looked good though and oh so damned fast! I loved that old girl, last engine I put into her was a 66 Vette L84 real McCoy 375 horse fuelly motor. Truck was untouchable with it's stock 4;11 rear end. Anyways I'd drive around non stop racing everyone who'd dare and I'd take their cash, have a beer and I was gone. At that time all I did in my time off was drive the countryside roads in the daytime and party all night till I got tired and crashed out in my truck... or at a gals place if I got lucky! But I usually slept in my truck and before I crashed I'd turn on the stereo and in my mixed tapes The Mavericks were always right there with Dwight and Clint and Garth and George and I miss those days a lot!
Found a Greatest Hits album of this unknown band in London in 2000 after listening to 1 track. I was hooked and have been for 20 years and COUNTING !!!
bring the fire xtinguisher ma. the stage is on fire. those horns are transcending to the heavens. enough energy to light las vegas for another 24 hours.
Just created my own Mavericks concert this morning to The Mavericks I love you I have seen you five times live in Belfast Ireland come back when all this chaos is over
You don't need to be a musician to appreciate good music but I guess it helps. In this case anyone who appreciates music will appreciate this band. They are fantastic. I was sent a clip on here about 12 months ago by a friend but until then I knew very little about them but when I heard this clip I just thought "WOW"
They are the greatest live band out there right now! Malo's voice is like a fined tuned machine, seeing them live was my bucket list concert and I will always do my best to see them every time they visit New Mexico!
This would have to be up there with the best song I have ever heard. This fabulous. And as a friend said to me Raul Malo is up there with the best of them.
