Second off, there are two meanings to "pistol": An autoloading, mag (and sometimes clip) fed handgun, or simply i synonym for all handguns. A flintlock is a pistol, a revolver is a pistol, some SMGs are for some reason legally pistols (God bless america), darn FLARE GUNS can be pistols, and so on. In this case, he used It as a synonym to revolver.

Yea. Main fire fires the normal high damage shots Alt fire fanns the gun, so it fires more quickly, at the cost of accuracy And it takes longer to reload if there is still ammo in the chamber

It's about the vibe Think about it, imagine how much less intense a western would be if the protagonist brought along a speed loaded instead of placing each and every bullet in one by one while under fire, each brassy shell slotted into place one after the other, ready to be used to blast someone to pieces Plus imagine a Russain roulette taunt kill where you put one bullet in the barrel, spin it around, and have a 1/6 chance of killing the person before you. Impractical? Yes. However taunt kills aren't meant for practicality, they are meant for fun. Imagine two engies cross team roulette-ing each other, that would fit perfectly in TF2

Yeah most likely since I’m the heat of combat, you need speed. Plus the auto mode would be useful at taking down tough targets like overhealed heavy or against mvm bots.

The fact that he has to manually pull back the hammer every time tells me he could care less about being speedy.

consider the following: SFM is an unstable finicky nightmare and to achieve something like this takes a LOT of work and dedication as well as time

Engineer actually has unused revolver animations in the game files - but seeing as we haven't even gotten major updates to the gameplay in 4.5 years, I'm not sure we're getting any more new content.

Engineer wouldn't create it though, for... Well, the first half of the video at least... You're looking at what is *mostly* similar to a Schofield revolver, up until Engi flicks the "fuller automatic" switch, IRL it could even be faster since a Schofield will generally - to my knowledge - send all of the cartridges flying out of it when it's flicked open, unless you're very gentle with it which means the bullets won't go flying off to the one place that hasn't been corrupted by capitalism. Apologies for the potentially interesting gun nerdiness.

@@Jessica-el5yx i agree with what you said, whats your thought on the guide bar that comes out of the firing cylinder to cock the hammer after the gun reassembles itself? to me it was a devastating overlook and could have been built externally instead of impossibly

@@Jessica-el5yx it comes out 2 inches, those 2 inches when it goes back in, it would be inside the bullet i mean, its an impossible system, it directly pops out of where the bullet in the firing cylinder is supposed to be, idk just rubs me the wrong way

I think that the slow reload could be the main drawback, incredible damage (3 shots light classes maybe?) but takes forever to reload!

Nothing is more western than a high risk, high reward revolver Could be an amazing tool for engineer to do a lot of damage from ranges his shotgun simply can't reach, able to blow people to shreds at the drawback of leaving you defenseless on a long reload. Westerns do love their tension

I think it would be better if accuracy decreased instead of damage in 6 burst mode but most likely valve ain't gonna add this to the game
