Love megaman 5! Those star arrows were something else lol... especially in the protoman castle stages! The TAS made it look like megaman was wall jumping with them xD.
10:12 when super arrow dings off of enemies immune to it, you can still stand on it. i didn’t know that this was a thing nor that it even COULD ding off enemies but there you go
You mentioned the N. Bomb thing, so feast your eyes on this analysis: In Stone Man’s pixel art he is portrayed as a black robot (under the costume). On top of that, his helmet looks like an African kufi hat. … And his weakness is the “N. Bomb”. 😮 This is too much of a coincidence not to be intentional.
I posted it in an older video, but mega Man 5 was the first game I ever bought myself new from the store with my allowance money. I have a soft spot for this game and seeing it destroyed is a pleasure. PS: I'm team "start with Gravity Man" since I know you're a Star Man guy 😉
I do agree that Charge man and Stone Mans powers are definitely two of the worst I've seen in the whole franchise, but I still adore Megaman 5. It was the second Megaman game I ever played in my life as a kid. First game I owned on a NES was Megaman 3 and I fell in love with the franchise instantly
There are two speedrun categories: Any% and 100%. Crystalman's stage TAS gets the number 5. The ROCKMAN5/MEGAMANV letters. The visual glitches are the result of the CHR-ROM bankswitching not being initialized.

Could you make some videos of Mega Man clone games? I always liked Bucky O’Hare on the NES which used different characters in place of Mega Man’s power ups.
This TAS has made me very aware of how many M-Tanks the game just gives you for free, guess you're really encouraged to use them throughout the gauntlet stages instead of saving them for one specific moment.
I cannot say for sure, but I do not believe having less health or weapon energy would reduce lag, because (and this is a different game from a different company, probably programed differently) Duck Hunt draws the entire screen, pixel by pixel, including the black screen.
mm4 you can skip the animation when you kill a master simply by standing in the exact center pixil, you don't have to use the balloon although being at the vertical center may do something similar too.
I actually dont hear many complain about MM5 to be honest other than a specific few. I mean i dont like the weapons but I still have fun playin it. My least favorite MM game from the original series has to be MM6, My favorite being MM3
It's cool, your voice is always kinda weird but it ain't chased us off yet. Super Arrow is the best weapon ever. MM3 may be objectively the best game, but MM5 is the funnest because of that. Maybe tied with 8 because BALLS.
100% is for mega man 6, it's BEAT and BEATless, and there isn't a separate leaderboard for it It is faster ONLY if you get godlike RNG vs wily capsule. If he spawns low the entire time you can hit him with 2 charge shots, so 4/6 lowest spawns would be a free WR if you can get them. Otherwise, beat is faster if you're like most people and you get 12 high spawns.
Same with the dark 4 fight, it's faster to use buster because it's 3 damage per hit, and beat has to reset similarly to how the charge shot does, so it's way way way faster, plus you don't have to refill it during an M-tank fill
No one has redone the mega man 5 TAS since the refight skip I guess, also the wily press fight has been made much faster since this was made, basically all of wily 3 is faster now.
Why do I not remember so many M-tanks in Megaman V? I remember playing as a kid and there only being one in the whole game, and I think I counted 3 here? What game was I playing?!
That's because in Megaman V you are only allowed to have 1 M tank in the weapon select screen so if the game detects that you are still holding an M tank when you enter a room whit an M tank then the game won't generate it to make sure you don't get multiple M tanks
If you collect a single M-Tank during a run and keep it in your possession without using it, all other M-Tanks will no longer appear in their set locations. This is partly because you can only hold one of them at a time, and collecting more would be a waste. However, if you reach an area where an M-Tank would be (but isn't) and you already have one, leave the screen, use the M-Tank you have, and refresh the screen where the M-Tank would sit. This will allow it to reappear, letting you collect it once again.
