The Megs Come Out at Night

You know the drill. Get home from work, stash the laptop in the corner and grab the digging gear so we can head out to Sloth Party before its completely dark. We didn't get to dig without lights at all but that didn't stop the the night time shark tooth finds. It was a great day for megalodon teeth, I bagged a handful of them. Although I found a bunch of smaller broken teeth, I didn't find any decent smaller teeth which is kindof odd. Usually I find at least one decent angustidens tooth or a mako. To paraphrase a classic and quote my old friend Snow, the sloth abides.

the light focuses my eyes on a smaller area and the enamel is shiny so its easier to spot when the light hits it. its peaceful too. no cars honking, fewer planes flying over. However, the bugs like it better too!

My sister lives near Charleston and she knows some places where you can go hunt but they never find anything as nice as what you find. I really wanna go. Maybe this summer I would be thrilled to death to find one of your broken beaters. I about went nuts when I found a slick great white tooth about an inch and 1/3 at the beach just below myrtal last year. I would love if I could meet you guys and go.on a hunt

if your sister has a spot anywhere in charleston, there is potential for big ones too. just keep hunting you'll find one eventually! thanks for watching!

@blackriverfossils they aren't allowed to use shovels or screens I don't think so makes it harder
@blackriverfossils
@blackriverfossils 6 месяцев назад
@@wheelman0799 true that does make it harder. the best time to go to spots like that is after a heavy rain so you'll have natural erosion on your side.

That is awesome, Matt is good people, I enjoyed my time working with him. I retired from there back in 2017, but I believe Matt is still around working in Parking Management.@@blackriverfossils

@blackriverfossils from research I believe it is between charleston and harleysville. Any tips for finding stiff there? I've only found one meg in my live, and it was small.
@blackriverfossils
@blackriverfossils 5 месяцев назад
@@Jaydan427RC you have to look for the water worn gravel that has a lot of bones in it and dig in that stuff. that's where the meg teeth will be. happy hunting!
