In June 2024, I went back to Melbourne, Australia for a relatively short holiday, but I still managed to film a large amount of trains and trams. Surprisingly, it didn't rain once while I was over there, but there were still some cloudy days.
Throughout this video, we'll mainly see suburban trains at Southern Cross, North Melbourne and Moonee Ponds. Also included in the mix is The Overland from Adelaide (with NR 82 on the point) and the XPT coming in from Sydney, so it was a pretty varied rail scene just on the trip's first day alone.

Thanks for visiting the van you saw coming back into Southern Cross. It was a power van for long-distance services operated by the loco hualed services. I can not spell clearly

The van at 9:20 is PH Power Van. They are fitted with a generator set (Engine) which supplies "Head End Power" to generate power for the carriage lighting etc. They are usually fitted when there are no other HEP sources available, usually from the N Class Locomotive. PH451-453 were converted from VLPY Louvre Vans in 1984, 454 was converted from Louvre van DN 404.
