Back in May of 1966, and again in July 1970, he was given the tasks of taking on two of marvels most popular books, after Ditko and Kirby had walked. What a daunting task!
Wow, what a great interview. What a wise, well-balanced and self-aware man. I think he's the best comic book artist of all time-- he combines the best characteristics of all the leading artists of his era, the finest era in comics history.
In my opinion , Romita is the only Person who could capture Dare Devil fluid movements , You could feel the kick , I grew up on the " Silver Age " , People looked like People . One villain who never came back that I liked was The Jester at least in my time anyway . Also in issue 43 when He fights Captain American, You can see all the fluid movements I said above .
John Romita Sr co creator of the punisher and Wolverine two of the comic book industries biggest Anti hero’s… do I need to say anything else plus his run on the Amazing Spider-Man is untouchable
@mrtoonozandy if not the best, he's definitely the most unique. As far as Marvel's loners were concerned, Hulk is slightly more tortured than daredevil, spidey was more accessible, and Wolverine more iconic. However, DD will keep you up at night, rooting for him regardless of his mistakes and tragedies.
