What I love about leveling up in Daggerheart from what I'm seeing here is the shear amount of choices you can make every level up. Really lets the character feel like your own.

I love Daggerheart. Love making mixed ancestries. Made GIANT DarkMountain Ribbet Harley Queenie. NightWalker Rogue She alchemist of a potions of hunger suppression to reduce her uncontrollable urge to eat because she grew uncontrollable and cannibalized on another noble. She is the darkest character i have made. She is trying to find a cure. She was a princes a medicinal alchemist nurse. Her family and clan are alchemical medicinal doctor merchants. She hates her condition. She is all mouth and 2 sands imprecise limps that free float work as hand or feet but all finesse is in her giant long tongue. She looks like a giant earthen frog with moss and small rocks and flowers on her, she has a small crop of herbs and medicinal plants to brew the alchemical potions that suppress their hunger, on her back. Her dark crown with dark gems is her alchemic brewery she spins it like a hula hoop to brew and stir the alchemic formula. EXPERIENCE +2 Giant Gnaw Experience +1 passive Hunger suppressant (costs stress and -2 agility gains +2 finesse or criminal presence) Orderborn from her Merchant Medicinal Brewery Clan She runs and hides and knows to avoid crowds and stay in darkness She is hunted by many Ribbet clans that are loyal to the noble she ate. She was forced to be a expert in thievery and assassination in the darkness. She is paranoid addicted and protective of her friends its why she focuses to stay hammered i take a stress to stay hammered lose -2 agility and gain +2 to finesse or +2 presence with criminals. She focuses on defending other tower shield and round shield. She holds the tower shield with her tongue and she holds a big round shield with her serrated teeth. So she functions like a dhampir trying to cure her vampirism and suppressing her hunger with alchemy.

I love y'all, and love the concept of this game. I am in tears because I got so close to being a part of your beta test (I haven't played any TTRPG since the 80's), I got a group together for a session zero, I brought the play test documents for Daggerheart, the 2014 D&D books, a Cyberpunk Red box set, and a few other smaller Kickstarter books so we had options, unfortunately the person I found to play GM decided (without any discussion) that we were going to play his personal version of Shadowdark, where we could only choose between human dwarf or elf, and only fighter rogue or bard, and we had to do a gauntlet to start and if we didn't survive we would have to repeat the gauntlet solo until we did. Apparently he's one of those"biker D&D" punish the players guys, I apologized to my friends (who were all looking at me like"wtf man!?! This isn't what you told us we were going to be doing") I am still going to try but I think I might have lost the group, we're all old and even getting everyone together for that took months, I am heartbroken and embarrassed. I just want to pretend to be someone else with friends who want to have fun and support each other, and feel cool for a bit, why is that so hard? Ugh

Well, you might have an easier time convincing them to come back if you decided to take over as GM. That way you can promise more freedom/tell them the vibe that your game is going for. If you’re the one who bought a lot of the books, and are here, you probably knows it best. It might seem a little daunting, but you probably have the best shot to make the game you want to play.

@@andyspillum3588 Out of curiosity, do you guys play in person or online? If you're having trouble getting everyone together physically, online might be a better option. There's lots of online platforms and as an older TTRPG gamer I've found online easier to manage schedule-wise. My friends and I usually manage a once per week game lasting anywhere from 2 to 3 hours. We do a weekly email to confirm everyone can make it that week, and if not we do our best to find an evening that works for everyone.

@@Amrylin1337 The problem was 1 person making decisions without any discussion, I brought a myriad of choices for All of us to discuss and collectively decide on what system we were collectively most interested in playing. Even the system he (alone) picked, he (again without any discussion) limited choice of ancestry and class. I (and by their reactions the rest of the players) want to pretend to be in a world where our choices matter. If I want to have 1 guy making decisions that everyone else has to inact, I'll just go to work. But thank you for illustrating that authoritarian bullshit is still prevalent in TTRPG

"Final Words" is still broken. Not for its intended use, but it can also get rid of any bodies the group would leave behind as evidence -or just get rid of them so they don't take up space.

Combat Training: Ignore burden when equipping weapons. (Only Primary weapons have 2 handed burden and per Primary weapon rules, can only have 1). So did Matt mispeak on able to weild 2 primary weapons or are the rules in 1.4 manuscript in error? Still a cool ability to have a 2 hander in one hand and a tower shield or secondary weapon in the other.

If I’m understanding correctly the veil of shadow is a wall. The thing I’m thinking about, is if it is a 6 inch tall wall. A normal sized creature that was 30 ft. away they could just take a few steps forward and know they have line of sight to the tiny creature behind the wall. I don’t know maybe make it a 6 inch cube.

To be honest I’m really excited for them to return to this campaign but I still think the armor system needs work maybe gaining automatically gaining additional armor slots at certain levels will help. Also I don’t think the rogues minor threshold should be 1 but that’s probably just me. Another also the book of Korvax just made me think of chaotic when there on the beach trying to find his treasure 😆

marisha'a choice of hypnotic shimmers..anything similar to lotr, frodo getting stabbed in mines of moria and all the team seams to have a round of rage.....perhaps you have something else that is like that....would be cool to see....with a bard, palidin....something that gives the team that bonus on some perilous encounter
