Yeah same, when I went back to watch older episodes it really felt like he was still kind of new to the team. Like, they're used to him being around and doing his own thing but they're still not completely used to his antics and the accuracy of his conclusions. Plus, we saw in the flashback episode that they were going to get a new member for the team immediately after he first joined. Would it really have taken 4 years for Van Pelt to join?

If you want to see more Simon Baker, he was in a law show which lasted several seasons. Show was good but the character was very different--a lawyer who cared but was more crusty.

To be honest Cho is very similar to Jane. I mean Jane let's people think he's an idiot or incompetent Nad always hide he's abilitys. Cho does something similar he has many talents and highly interesting past and he only reveals he's talents when they're are needed
@@ignoronb7880 honestly cho and jane a lot of differences too. They work well together because they respect each other: Jane respects cho's integrity while cho respects jane's drive to find red john and his incredible ability in solving cases. Every interaction they ever had on the show was purely professional, which isnt always the case with others like rigsby or van pelt.
Damn I loved their team. The boys always messing around, trying to put some smiles into an otherwise sad and messy situation, while also being adults who knew when to be serious, and the girls being the voice of reason but also forgiving enough not to be annoying. Everyone had their place, their identity, and they always filled each other's gaps. Nobody was unnecessary nor did anybody introduce unwanted drama in the group (Rigsby and Van Pelt's relationship, if anything, added more fun than drama, thanks to Patrick). This scene sums it up perfectly: Jane is showing off and having fun, Rigsby plays the "Watson role" (the guy who asks questions so that the "Sherlock role", in this case Jane, answers them for the viewers), Cho picks up Patrick's challenge, Van Pelt calls them off for being morbid and consequently enables Rigsby's joke about body parts and gambling to keep the scene flowing, and then comes Lisbon who gives them their homeworks, bringing them back to serious business. I could watch The Mentalist episodes everyday for all day and I would never get tired. That's how much I loved the main characters' interactions between each other.

Seasons 1 to 4 were real good. Maybe season 5 too. But after that the show's quality declined. Really loved the show - the main cast of chatacters really had chemistry with each other & the humor & plots were fun to watch!
Sudarshan Sethuram Sherlock doesn’t do deductions neither does Jane. Sherlock uses inductions same with Jane. They would get along just not agree with each others methods.
Monk,Psych,Dexter,I guess they have one with the actor in this show called The Guardian although never really seen it,Sherlock,I also love Sherlock Holmes the original with Basil Rathbone,there's a lot out there depending on your taste. Me there's not a lot of detective shows I don't like that's but I'd say oh and The Dead Zone but yeah these are some of the top ones for me
