Not gonna lie, when I saw those two combinations of games, I pictured a cinematic platformer ala Blackthorne, but with stealth elements, in an expansive military facility or something like that. This just seems like a regular Metroidvania type game with a military aesthetic. I honestly get more Metal Slug from it than Metal Gear.
Yeah it looks really cool, but comparing it to Metal Gear is generous. The only similarities are the main character's design and the fact that he's infiltrating an enemy island.
For me this looks more like a mix of Metroid and metal slug tbh. The way the character holds the gun. Strong metal slug vibes. On my wishlist now, thanks for the impressions. Looks right up my alley. Take good care ❤
@gunsharck so in your world, there are no easter egg explanation vids right? Maybe some younger people don't know ikari warriors and would like to check it out? Or should I just delete my comment to satisfy you? 🙄
This game looks amazing! I'm getting old Amiga games vibes from it but I don't think I ever played an Amiga game that play like this. I loved Gato Roboto, I think I'm checking this one out!
É um jogo inspirafo pelo Metal Gear original (entre outras franquias, como Metal Slug). Chama Wolfhound e ainda não foi lançado, essa é uma demo que, provavelmente, está disponível na Steam
maybe the idea of the military-themed adventure where the player is always physically isolated from any allies and has to make do with whatever they find on-site is the vibes here. Compare to a certain obscure-ish PSX jRPG by Square, Vagrant Story - despite not being a stealth game, it often considered to be basically an equivalent of MGS in fantasy setting.

Stop reaching, my guy. They eventually admit that it's just visually that it feels like MG and not much else, which is strange because MG is a top down game.
looks really fun. I just don't like how little range the pistol bullets have. They disappear after after traveling only a few tiles. They should definitely increase that range (unless you get an upgrade for that later)
infinite ammo for pistol, but with reloading, while other weapons use up ammo and don't seem to be in need of reloading. using the knife up close and boss fight is against a nazi-tank. its basically metal slug dressed up as contra and metal gear thrown into a metroid-vania game.
Looks great! Looking forward to it. But why Na*is in the jungle? Why not Japanese? Would make sense. The moment I saw it plays on an island I was assuming I'd fight Japanese soldiers.
Does look fun, but didn’t see anything that makes it better or different than any of the other hundreds of indie metroidvania games already released and coming.
Man I seriously hate journalism..nes inspired? This level of 2d quality would require a PS1 probably more ram than a ps1. It's like everyone writing about stuff is 10 and has no clue wtf they're talking about anymore.
Some corrections: A)Not an NES inspired retro game B)doesnt look and play like a Metal Gear game, NES or MSX-2. Aside from the sprite which is a stereotype soldier.
I never played Predator, but I did play Rambo for NES and this reminds me of that. In Rambo, the first areas of the game has you fighting spiders and snakes in a jungle which looks like this game. The big difference is that this game appears to start you off with a gun, but in Rambo the game starts you off with just a knife and the guns come later.
I love/hate when they show off a cool new game & there like “it’s not gonna release for a year or two” Don’t tease us like that 🤦♂️ Just show it off when it’s a month or two away, I get why the do that tho To build up hype & a fan base
how is it a cash grab? there is no kickstarter or anything for it. unless wishlisting it on steam and watching the trailer on youtube somehow counts as a cash grab. besides the devs of the game have already delivered a game before which I have played extensively.
