The Mets have the highest payroll in baseball, yet they're projected to miss the playoffs. What could explain this, and why could it be good for them? The Mets just signed J.D Martinez and capped off an offseason where they signed plenty of mid-tier players. To some Mets fans this was probably heartbreaking and disappointing especially after missing out on Yoshinobu Yamamoto earlier on in the offseason, but this might turn out to be really good. The Mets have are gonna be paying over $300 million in salaries this year, and selling all of their players at the deadline could serve to be amazing for them in the next couple of years. They'll likely be buyers at the end of the 2024 season with all of the new space and prospects that they picked up during the season. In my opinion, the 2025 MLB season is gonna look really good for them. Let me know what you think down below!
