Mexico is developing very fast, it already surpassed Russia in GDP per capita in 2023 according to the IMF, it will surpass Russia in nominal GDP in. 2024, and the per capita growth was the biggest in Latin America. Minimum wage increased 120% in 5 years and 200% in the north of the country, that’s why poverty rates reduced in at least 10 million people. I hope it keeps like that because it will be better for all North America, Mexico has a lot of potential and I think it’s time for Mexico to take an important place in the developed world

Not that I have anything with cars. But I hope they don't start building car dependent infastructor like the usa. They need to have public options too. I believe car dependent infrastructure alienates people. Don't get me wrong I would own a car. But I don't want to completely rely on 24/7 like the usa.
@JoseArteagaTravels
@JoseArteagaTravels 9 месяцев назад
They won't. Many parts of the world are like this, it's just that most Americans don't know how life exists outside of the USA
@Anahi1991
@Anahi1991 8 месяцев назад
Hello friend. I am from Coahuila and let me tell you, that will never happen. Quite the opposite. Our gas is more expensive than the US now, roads are terrible, and those dependent on autos are rural, not those in cities. We actually are great at building transit compared to US by far because the government has no choice. It’s very complicated an issue here. I agree with you no one should rely on cars 24/7, but it’s isolating to not have choice. The tolls and gas for me to make it to the border alone if I want to visit my family in Texas would be months worth of salary for your average Mexican. They give us the $ for it but mostly just come visit us. If you can move here with USD, you’re fine. But most of us Mexicans making pesos will never have this issue. I think people moving from the US here are falsely romanticizing things here.
@Anahi1991
@Anahi1991 8 месяцев назад
I’m Mexican and there’s both truth and misconceptions to car ownership here. We’re able to live better without cars because our cities are dense, even our colonias tend to be more walk friendly. Now the misconceptions: 1- we have the world’s most expensive toll roads. This is a political issue here since our constitution technically makes it illegal and the money isn’t even going to development. 2- in 2013, our gas was made private. Prices have jumped to over $5 USD a gallon. Now imagine paying any tolls and gas with our wages in Mexico? It’s not that we have “freedom” mi amigo, most of us don’t have the possibility. 3- who this hurts most is not those in cities who just want a car. It hurts the rural population. There is no one in my hometown anymore except for the older generation. We’ve all moved to survive, in my case to Saltillo with all of my cousins and siblings. We are following the US by making it impossible to live a humble rural life. Small businesses have no customers in rural Mexico because of it so they close soon after. I visited my hometown recently and it’s a ghost town. This isn’t to say Mexico isn’t prospering. It just needs to be noted that the culture and way of life is rapidly changing here to high cost urban living just like the US. I’m really worried that once prices of rent for businesses and housing continue to go up, small business even in the cities will suffer. Look at our cities now! American fast food, American grocery stores, American everything! That’s because they can afford the rent and taxes. I appreciate you very much for choosing to shop local, we really need to put our people and culture first but the government puts themselves first and allows this.
@JoseArteagaTravels
@JoseArteagaTravels 8 месяцев назад
That is an interesting perspective you have there. You are 10000% right about what you are saying in your area and other areas of Mexico, but I can also show you the complete opposite also happening here. I see villages in the Yucatan and other areas growing and prospering. Mexico is a huge country and every state might as well be its own country. You are right not all parts of Mexico are sunshine and rainbows, but also not all parts of Mexico are turning into the USA. Same as in the USA some places are still actually great, the whole country isnt going down the toilet.... Thanks again for sharing. Hope things get better in that part of Mexico. Saludos!

Same here, I felt every word you said. I too visited Mejico, not lived there, but I get it all of it. I especially like how people have actual families. Also, they do not do much, but who ever said that busy is life? It is not. There are no mammals that are busy, and slaving. In fact, history has that happen only around 200 hundred years ago when Europe took over through Rome and still operates earth as a prison. It is all prisoners, all have to rat race, and the ways of collecting food, fishing, and preparing foods, and traditions are the human. This is the slave, and the rest is being discussed as the NWO, or same old Order of Royals cause wars and push me pull you statehood like in Venezuela, and Cuba where lives flee to get food, well that has so many ages before the lives die off, or are too ill and bent over to do anything. But, I am old and broken and have no energy or ability to race rats, or rat race. Nice show!@@JoseArteagaTravels

The only thing the US is better than Mexico is the cost of goods. Clothes are so expensive in Mexico. As an American I wouldn't even buy some of the clothes there with my higher wage. A cousin of mine came to visit and he said that with $3,500 pesos in the US would get him $10,000 pesos worth of clothes in Mexico. (Y de marca buena también!) He bought lots of clothes for his growing kids. That's why there's a Ross right outside of Tijuana! Perfect for flying in and buying a bunch of clothes and flying back

Hola, Jose! We LOVE Merida!! The people are what make it so special. It almost makes the hellish temperatures bearable. We've been told this past week the current air is considered, "fresh". Residents here are TOUGH. What makes it better, is the almost constant wind, along with an afternoon siesta. This city certainly comes alive at night. The personality of this 500-year-old city is truly unique. 7 out of 10 people we pass look us in the eye, smile, and say hello. Try THAT in Chicago and get back to us :). While we will be moving to this magical country for retirement, we would've never considered Merida until we saw your vids. Now it is on our short list. Little crime, great people, LOTS to do. The one vid we saw with you celebrating Hanal Pixan, what part of the city were you strolling? Thanks to your education, we know tonight is for the little ones, tomorrow is for the Family, and the 3rd day is for those who did not have anyone in this lifetime. Are there different parts of the city to best experience the different days? Again, thank you for your efforts!!

That's awesome! Glad you are enjoying Merida! That Hanal Pixian event I recorded happens every year and it is from the main cemetery to la ermita and beyond. They held this years event last Friday in order to take advantage of the weekend. Normally those days are celebrated at home with family. Especially this year since most of those events happened over the weekend. If there are other events happening i would say they are in the touristy areas around el centro and paseo montejo. Hope that helps!
