It kept getting blocked so I had to blur out a lot of the logos and edit the sound out or distort it. Sorry about that. If you would like to watch the original upload without the dodgy editing, follow this link: • The Michael Chang Docu...

I got some DMs asking where I got the footage of the interview. I had the wonderful opportunity to interview Mr. Chang over zoom (since this was during the height of the pandemic) so this is an original interview that cannot be found anywhere else. If you do find this interview anywhere else on the internet without proper credit (like a repost), please let me know since I did not give anyone permission to use it. If you would like to quote sections of this interview as a source, I am okay with that as long as you give me credit in your description or works cited.

Having known Michael for many years, and seen a number of interviews regarding his amazing run at the 1989 French Open, this documentary ranks as is one of the best!

This is a great and valuable interview . After many years , Chang’s achievements in French Open is still so inspired to all of us . We still don’t know how he made it , but he did .

Great quote at the end: "if you don't quit, great things can happen... because sometimes people quit, and what they didn't realise, was just around the corner, was the light "

Michael’s win in 89’ first got me into tennis. What an achievement.

For those that do not know how to pull yourself up, this is how you do it! It was the difference between him taking that 1 more step toward the umpire to quit! That close. Life changing!

Love the story of how players ask about his mom and the security recognized her and not him.

Chang was always so exciting to watch. He was so close to win US Open in 1996

Great lesson, never give up or simply don't quit, because what you're fighting for may just be around the corner. Leant something from Michael Chang..👏👏👍👍

I remember that final vs. Stefan Edberg. I caught the final set to see Chang break a 34-year American drought and begin a mini-run of American players winning the French Open (Chang, 89; Courier, 91 and 92. Even Agassi made the final in 1990 but lost.)

In the final Chang hit a ball that looked like it was going out, then at the last second it curved in! The shot that curved in, happened because the last breaths of the protesters in Tiananmen Square blew the ball in!
