In 1885, the citizens of Austin, Texas were living in fear of a serial ax murderer. Skip Hollandsworth, author of "The Midnight Assassin," discusses this wave of terror.
I am a native of Austin, decedent of Travis County SLAVES. My Grandmother ( born 1905 )told stories of these crimes and was scared 😱 to travel into Austin. Someone, needs to make a documentary or movie about these deaths. These ladies need their stories told. If I had the money, I would definitely be a producer of a movie on this subject.
The Harpe Brothers were America's first documented serial killers it's not talked about much but I know due to my ancestor hunted them down and killed them Micajah "Big" Harpe, born Joshua Harper (before 1768 - August 1799), and Wiley "Little" Harpe, born William Harper (before 1770 - February 8, 1804), were murderers, highwaymen and river pirates who operated in Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois and Mississippi in the late 18th century.
You can tell he is in the media. "There were probably some lynchings but they didn't make the newspapers". He pulls that right out of his ass like a pro.
