Very informative as usual! Could you please do a review of the different types of bindings, especially profila vs. rolled binding. Would also help us understand why you picked profila binding as your channel's name
The white creasing on the vamp is possibly built-up wax. If you use wax on these shoes, try a little acetone or rubbing alcohol on those spots. Nice video!
I don't buy AE anymore but when I first really started to like dress shoes I was all over this color. The elegant oxford got a pair in blue shell thats a little lighter that really almost temped me you should check those out.
If you have stiff leather, lay on the Saphir Renovateur! God knows how long the leather was sitting on a rack in a warehouse, before the shoes were made! When the first application has soaked in - sometimes it happens right before your eyes - rub more into the leather. You'll be happy you did!!
Hello. I’ve enjoyed your videos. I have one pair of AE, the fifth avenue in dark chili. I was wondering if you are familiar with the “weatherproof” series, in particular the park avenue. I live in a rainy state and was interested if they would hold up better over the long run, especially with the leather. Thanks.
@@chalkboardshoes Hi. No worries, thanks for replying nonetheless. AE had a sale and they dropped to $210 from like $425 so I went ahead and took the chance. They are my first Park avenues and are about what I’d expect. The leather does seem different. I got the black leather so it’s not really noticeable but it reminds me of my Nappa leather Bruno Maglis, the pores seem more grainy and with texture. I intend them to be my bad weather beaters. They also didn’t have the best of smells. Smelled like glue. But overall I’m happy.
