You guys get it! Caroline allows for Klaus to show a side we don't get to see otherwise (Guilty yet innocent as Zuff puts it lol), AND she has the guts to keep him in check. And while he definitely has a hard time hearing it, he doesn't like her any less for it. That's why those two are so popular, their chemistry and dynamic is soooo good.

This show hated Bonnie having fun cause why wasn’t she invited to the ball hosted by The Mikaelson witch when she’s the Bennett witch (We learn that Ester had a connection with Bennett witches, shouldn’t she be interested in meeting the Bennett witch?) I thought she hosted this party to get to know everyone and Matt is invited but not the powerful town witch??
To be fair, Rebekah invited Matt, not Esther... But you are right, it doesn't make much sense for her not to invite Bonnie... The only sliver of sense that you can maybe scratch is that, because of her plan and what she wanted to do to the originals, she didn't want the Bennett witches "publicly presented" to the rest of the family or to tip them off about her interest in the Bennetts... Exactly, this is the first time in the show that name is used. I don't know if they recall, but Rob actually was annoyed at himself for calling them the Mikaelsons earlier on in this season after the reveal Mikael was their dad, and it led to Zuff wondering if he was Mikael Mikaelson then. If the characters, especially Stefan, had known that type of family name back in the 1920's, they would have been much less surprised by the reveal that the mysterious Vampire who hunts Vampires and happens to be named Mikael that Klaus is scared of is the Mikaelson patriarch. And in all likelihood, the Originals wouldn't have been too keen to be known by the name of the father they thought had killed their mother in a rage- it's the party she as his widow reawakened arranges that has this name on the invitations (though, the Originals spin-off does establish that they used Mikaelson at points in the past even when hiding from him so this point is kind of moot )

4:57 It was Rose that called him the Easter bunny, but a lot of what she said has proven untrue, such as Klaus being the eldest original. Basically, it was just Rose’ opinion, not fact. She probably only knew Klaus and Elijah and she was petrified of Klaus and considered Elijah to be more honourable and therefore more reasonable, hence her opinion. But it was just an opinion. We have seen these last couple of episodes alone that Klaus is scared of his siblings, especially lil bro Kol. It’s why he daggers them - they dont do what he wants, he throws a tantrum and daggers them. Basically, Klaus has never been more awesome and scary than when he was being talked about by Rose in season one, but when you meet him and learn about him, he really isnt how she portrayed him. In reality, he is the moody middle child, that stamps his feet whenever he doesnt get his own way 😂 Seriously though, they are all just as savage as each other. There’s a couple of scenes in the Originals that show just how savage Klaus and Elijah can be. On a side note, Klaus telling Kol to “go back to staring at yourself” was hilarious 😂
This is one of my fave episodes in TVD. I love that the whole Mikaelson family is there and it’s a dance. Everyone is dressed up and the flirting. I’m a huge Klaus and Caroline shipper so naturally I love this episode.
I actually liked Damon and Rebekah together - they would have been awesome. At least she wasn't stupid. I liked Klaus with Caroline much better than her with Tyler. We got to see a side of him that we could actually respect and like. I loved how he accepted her criticism knowing it was not malicious but an honest assessment of how she saw him. He wanted to be better for her. And once again, Elena fucks up and hurts Damon. She didn't feel that bad about it since she would have gone to bed with Stefan if he hadn't told her he can't care.

the way Damon looks at Elena when she enters the ball is everything. You can tell how much Damon is in love with her with his eyes. His eyes are always so expressive when it comes to her. The way elena accepts Damon’s offer to dance is so cute, I love how close they have gotten.

Damon always does good things but never asks for praise. You perfectly describe Damon’s character. Elena was always there to see the good parts about him, that’s why they’re my favorite ship.

Talking to Amber Stefan - as a human I was kind, caring, and empathetic to other humans I hurt if they hurt or i caused them pain I felt their pain. Talking to Elena/Caroline. Who else talks like this other than people looking for praise. He brings up saving Damon like 5 times through the show to Damon. Wanting praise. While Damon never throws the things he's done for Stefan in his fave actually Damon does the exact opposite and doesn't tell anyone when he does something for then because he doesn't do it for them to be grateful Damon just does it because he cares. Stefan always mentions or someone else mentions the things he's done. For praise. These are just off the top of my head Stefan has to be seen as a Hero in his eyes. He wants people to see him as a hero so bad. And he puts Damon down so much and I don't in a joking way how Damon does when Damon is teasing his brother and saying things like Hero Hair but things are truly awful things that he knows Damon's insecurities and like saying to Damon Elena can't be the blind to realize how bad you are for her. Or you don't do the right thing you only care about what Damon wants when Damon has looked out for Stefan his entire human and Vampire life.

Neither Rebekah nor Elena belong to Stefan. They are both independent women, free of their choices. Stefan never even loved Rebekah and it's been decades since they were together. And after breaking up with Elena and traumatizing her in the worst way, Stefan doesn't "have" her either. It would be another story if he actually was dating either of them though.

@@samnabawy2731 Damon in season 1 had his humanity switch shut off just like stefan in the beginning of S3, and he said and did weird/evil/selfish things against Elena, his own brother, and some others during that times and all the other times all through the show he was "angry" too. Stefan didn't mind seducing Katherine when he knew she was with Damon too (BEFORE any compulsion). Btw, a 100+ vampire following a 17 years old girl for 3 months and then going to seduce her IS gross. Guess who did that first ? Stefan. With Elena. If Delena is gross, then Stelena is gross too. I'm not going to make a list of all the evil things he did because that would be very long indeed.... so let's not play the "who's the worst" game on that front. I'm not so sure Stefan come up the winner. Like someone said, everyone sleeps with everyone on this show, Stefan is definitely not better.

He was making moves on Elena during and after season 1, including forcing kisses on her and then throwing a tantrum like a man child when she rejected him. 2. Stefan was 17 when Katherine was playing him and his brother, definetly not the same as mid 20s Damon, and it was NEVER established who she was with first. 3. I did not mention Stelena. 4. When Elena said those words, my heart shattered for damon. You can see the hurt that was expressed in Damon’s eyes at that moment. He probably always felt like his love wasn’t enough, so when Elena said that, it made him just want to snap. He tries so hard to care, but there’s always something that makes him regret it. He’s so desperate to be loved, but it’s always never enough. He went from not caring, to caring too much. My heart breaks for him.
he’s a grown man tho. like he needs to learn to manage his emotions before he can expect people to care about him. bad things are gonna happen it’s part of being human.

In some parts of the country these dances are passed down. Debutant balls are a common practice & they dance old waltzes to this day. My mom learned them in HS so it’s not out of the realm of possibilities.

To be fair, Kol was daggered in a box for over a century, so he’s probably feeling weak at the moment. Not only that, damon had the element of suprise. I feel like that makes a lot of sense.

The powerlevels have always been disrespected by the writers when it comes to the main characters. When Damon throws him off the balcony I agree that Kol was taken off guard, but afterwards he had plenty of time to take Damon down. Rebecka was also daggered for almost 100 years and she had no problem daggering Klaus himself just after she woke up. Michael was dessicated since the 90s and he had plenty of strength when he woke up, enough that he could hold down and drink from a 500 year old vampire. I literally love Rebekah, a lot of her feelings towards Elena are justifiable. I love her character, because of how layered she is, and she truly wears her heart on her sleeve, it also can’t be easy to be the only girl of 5 brothers. Bless her heart.

But you are crazy if you think that Klaus isn't toxic in his relationship with Caroline or that he has any type of grace... It wasn't necessarily them being "together" but they would have met in the past, and had that revealed in an upcoming flashback episode. Another character in that episode, also tied to the Originals, is changed from a man of the same name in the books to a woman in the show (and the book version seems to have romantic feelings for Damon, according to readers). That being said, I definitely still crack-headcanon that they did meet anyway offscreen (and that visit of Kol's to Mystic Falls was how the Gilbert family got their hands on the dagger John would later give the MFG to use on Elijah in S2). It does actually fit in the timeline and they never say anything that completely bars it from having happened. (and something Kol could have said at that time might have prompted Damon to go where he was in 1942)
Esther Mikaelson is messed up for trying to kill her children but it’s understandable because a lot of em are evil at the moment from what we’ve seen. Still messed up though for your own flesh & blood

Rose said Elijah was nothing compared to Klaus because I think they hadn't yet created the idea of the Original family. Klaus is a character from the books as one of the Old Ones but very different from the show. The show did a great job creating their own lore of the original family.
I feel like klaus is so gone for Caroline cause he sees himself in her with the whole "I'm never the one" mentality she has and she also is a bit of a mirror for him, showing him how he comes off to the world and holding him accountable. She makes him want to be a better man for her and isn't that what love is all about? I mean it's the same for damon with elena and other love stories in this and the originals. Script writers picked a formula and ran with it for real 😂
Damon 1000% was being self destructive and not just saving Matt lol. He had already saved Matt before he decided to take Kol head off. I get loving Damon but we have to be honest. That’s what he does every time Elena hurts his feelings.
I feel like the only reason Damon messed Kol up was because Kol has been decaying for so many years & hasn’t had much blood in decades or centuries by now depending on how long he’s been daggered. Plus cause Kol was letting his impulsive emotions control himself
