Daniel Gillies was supposed to be the one to stay in the cave with Nina but he went to the writers because he didn’t want to do it. He said he liked the relationship between Elena and Elijah because she reminded him what it was like to be human. So they sent Rebecca instead because she has hated Elena since she met her. I love the letter Elijah left for Elena and signed it Always and Forever.
Which makes more sense especially because she is very important to him(and them, sort of)...*spoiler* It will make sense once you watch "The Originals"

May I ask how that revealed he turned on his humanity after. It seems like he felt guilty about hurting her so he stopped drinking blood but I don’t remember him mentioning her turned his emotions back on. In fact I thought he just said if he starts feeling all he feels is pain. I’m confused
Spoilers Fr. By the time they get to season 8 they’re gonna be so sick of how everyone loses everyone & everything & no one gets their happy ending except Damon, it’s so unfair. By season 8 loyally everyone has had their family killed off. It’s so messed up, these writers are evil but it makes for entertaining tv I supposed. You would think that at least one other person other than Damon would get their happy ending especially since he deserves it least out of all of the main characters but … nope

@@shellyappiah spoilers I mean losing Stefan was unfortunate I guess but Stefan has been trying to save Damon from himself & his evil ways for centuries & ended up dying doing just that, so it’s more sad for Stefan than Damon. Damon has been doing despicable things since day one but yet he gets a happy ending when he deserves it the least out of everyone. While I do think that Bonnie had it bad, I’d say Elena had it worse imo. While Bonnie almost died a hundred times, Elena literally lost her life, lost both pairs of her parents, lost her aunt, lost her brother (not for long though luckily) then yet again she has to be dealt a bad hand when Kai ends up being the one villain to actually win by putting her in the sleeping spell, after losing her life due to vampirism & losing every single family member … she loses her life again when she was just a kid when she died & now she’s forced to be asleep & miss the life going on around her for years & all because she met the Salvatore brothers. Not to mention how she was used as a blood bag by Klaus for his hybrids & gots every bleeding in the brain because of it. She lost way more than anyone else. Cause Tyler lost his parents, Matt loses his family, Caroline loses her parents, Bonnie loses one parent & almost dies a hundred times. Elena lost everything in the end. The fact that they had her smiling in the finale after everything that happened is so crazy, I mean props to her for being able to still live a happy life I guess. Btw Damon was killing for the d*vil with Enzo after all you did to make him a good guy when you were awake & btw Tyler gets killed by your boyfriend & you don’t even get to say goodbye to him or Liz Forbes cause yet again … you were asleep but at least you got to say goodbye to Stefan when he visited… yeah it’s not even a question. Elena lost everything & never truly got her happy ending but no one else did other than Damon so it’s whatever.
"Elena's never getting hurt" Hmm.. let's see. After losing both her parents Miranda and Grayson at 16, her aunt Jenna who was a second mother to her was killed in front of her, then, the same night, Elena got drained and killed by Klaus, then she was used like a blood bag by Klaus, then her father by blood John sacrificed himself so that she could stay human after Klaus drained her of blood, then her mother by blood Isobel killed herself in front of her (even though she's an asshole), then her ex-boyfriend used her in a silly feud with Klaus and terrorized and traumatized her by threatening to kill her on the very bridge her parents died. Of course, she's a doppelganger so apparently the most desirable sacrifice for supernatural beings to do spells with or break curses, so she's forced to deal on a daily basis with even the most powerful family of vampires on earth, whether she wants it or not. I'm sure I'm forgetting things but this show isn't over yet, I don't want to spoil the rest to you guys, but since basically almost every member of her family is dead, or in danger of dying from one day to the next, so I'm not sure she's the person who has been the most spared of pain in this show 😅.
In just one season Caroline lost her father & Bonnie lost her mother & it wasn’t even a huge distance between those episodes either & all because they were connected to vampires. Imagine if Caroline & Bonnie had never been connected to Elena or the Salvatore Brothers. They’d probably have both their parents alive by now. These writers are so messed up.

Bonnie would’ve never needed to use her powers at all for this Original family spell or anything at all & Caroline would’ve never been murdered by Katherine to get even with the Salvatore brothers & her father never would’ve been murdered by Alaric for only being in mystical falls in the first place to avenge Isobel who was “killed” in his eyes by Damon. It all starts with the Salvatore Brothers. I like Elena but I can’t lie that death follows the Salvatore brothers & now follows all of them for meeting the Salvatore brothers.

Rob didn't even show delight at predicting "No vampires allowed" right before it was said- it was a good read on his part! That scene with Caroline blaming Elena still makes me furious. Yes, Bonnie deserves some alone time from Elena to grieve, but the way Caroline delivers it and the show's audience responds to that... Caroline just comes off like she still has sour grapes over Elena and Bonnie preferring each other to her, and being bitter that even when she was dating Matt, after she found Vickie's body and Matt rejected her attempts to console him, he immediately ran to Elena when she arrived. Elena about five episodes ago was trying to help Caroline mourn her own father (never mind that Caroline's reaction to Elena experiencing the loss a year earlier was "she used to be more fun before her parents died") but Caroline can't find it in herself to leave it at "Damon and Stefan acted to save you and that hurts Bonnie right now. She still loves you, she just needs time"- she needed to throw in her own always-feeling-like-second-fiddle-to-Elena baggage on. (To be clear: Bonnie, take all the time you need, Caroline take a hike off the self-righteous cliff) Meanwhile Elena lost not just the parents who raised her (which she still feels survivor's guilt for, especially since they were picking her up from a party), but saw her bio mother burn in front of her under Klaus' compulsion, before her own lousy father (more so making the comparison to Bill Forbes rather than actually hating on John) let himself die leaving her parentless at 17 rather than see her become a vampire. Her aunt was killed in front of her, even though Elena complied with Klaus' ultimatum about not running (and Jenna was only killed because Damon freed Tyler and Caroline- yet Elena never says "I'd still have my aunt if only you were dead, Caroline") before her own ritualistic death from the guy who is still haunting their town (while Caroline is swayed by his bad horse drawings while her boyfriend goes through self-inflicted torture to get back to her and free from Klaus' control). Elena again faced death, at Stefan's own hands, and was surprised to wake up still alive after the Reckoning at the school (though Klaus fully intended/intends to keep access to her body and blood for the rest of her life to make more hybrids, which is horrifying). She also nearly burned to death in a car and was almost driven off the bridge where her parents died because she's still trying to save Stefan. She saw her brother nearly get hit by a car, while their last guardian actually did; her kid brother chopped a dude's head off in front of her and she felt like she had to send him away; then their guardian was attacked *again* and Elena had to complete killing him so that he wouldn't actually die. Like, yes, she's managed to avoid bullet-in-the-brain, vervain-draining, sun-shining supernatural tortures because people have uses for her, but she has had her blood drained to severe levels and even in this episode she had gasoline poured on her and was facing almost certain death (by fire) AGAIN. Sorry guys, but you're wrong on this one- Elena has faced just as much turmoil and suffering as the others, it's just that part of the torture designed for her by the likes of Klaus or the writers is the suffering of others (because unlike Caroline, she can offer empathy beyond projection).

I think it’s not just Bonnie who gets hurt. I mean, Elena lost her mum and dad almost dying herself then found out she was adopted then thought Damon killed her biological mother then finds out she’s alive and a terrible mother/ person then she watched Jenna be killed all because she’s the doppleganger, then gets killed herself then bought back knowing John died for her and she watches Damon snap Jeremys neck (i know he survived but still) then Stefen goes all ripper and he leaves with klaus then stefen threatens to turn her into a vampire and to drive her off the same bridge where her parents died and she was willing to sacrifice herself so many times to save everyone
Elena was so jealous when damon slept with Rebekah. Her feelings for damon are way too obvious. Damon is so savage for confronting klaus. He always wants the smoke when it comes to the originals. 😭

I love how selfless damon is. He lost the coin toss, but he took the fall by turning Bonnie’s mom into a vampire so Stefan don’t have to go through guilt. He will let everyone hate him as long as he keeps Elena safe. And it’s not like they had a choice, it was either Elena died or one of the witches had to be turned to break the connection. The originals didn’t give them much of a choice and they were forced to act to save Elena’s life under duress.
ELena doesn't get hurt? Seriously, what are you guys talking about? She is had a target on her and her families back since the show started. Damon, Vicky, Stefan, Elaus, Elijah, Rebecca, Cole, Katherine have all tried to kill her or hurt her in some form at some point. She lost her parents 6 months before start of season 1. Those were the only people she lost without supernatural interference. Rest all her bio mom, bio dad/uncle, aunt jenna were all killed or died because of the original family, she is forever targeted or treated like a blood bag by Kalus. If I was Elena, I would hate the entire original family and do anything to decrease their numbers. Here Rebecca has only been backstabed once that too temporarily by Elena(out of desperation). The way I see it Elena is more generous than other characters in this show so she never cribs, or hate on others rather she tries to understand other persons perspective. Rebecca, Bonnie, Caroline have all blamed her at some point for things that weren't her fault but she has never blamed say Matt or Jeremy when Vicky was targeting her or blamed Rebecca because her entire family targeted her and her family. Bonnies mom didn't die to save Elena she died because like original witch said original vamps do whatever they want to do. They could have easily compelled stefan and damon to do what they want or could have done their dirty work themselves. They didn't take Elena hostage out of necessity they did that to punish her for lying to them. Same goes for gramps. Gramps died because Damon's obsession with Katherine. I don't get why people keep blaming Elena instead of Damon who is really responsible.

@@jaye6446 they didn’t speak in depth on it. It was just one post on their patreon page and it said he was diagnosed with testicular cancer and will be taking a break. Since everything in their patreon comes over to their RU-vid in time I feel this message is gonna be the same just maybe in a video format so everyone should be patient instead of trying to rush them to speak on something thats not easy to speak about in the first place. This can’t be easy for any of them so being pushy only makes it that much harder

What was Damon’s excuse for angrily trying to do the exact same thing to Caroline’s father just a few episodes prior. There had to have been another way, but he just chose the easy way for himself.
Seriously is this whole entire show about saving Elena? Or needing doppelganger blood? Or needing Elena to complete some ba ritual or something? These guys make me laugh so i tune in. I only watched up through the end of season 2 on my own. Show is extra cringe now that im older.
