That's a fine memorial to your family and relations with the fine ladies that gave you drinks and homemade cookies that wrinkle your brain . Great video 👍🇬🇧
Wow, that memorial to those women at the end touched a nerve here. How lucky to have been able to known some of the last of an era!! Those women likely forgot on the average year more than I'll ever know
We love our milk cow and her heifer. Its all we can have on our 5 acres but the deep bedding in the winter goes to the Garden mixed with Chicken manure. What a game changer. In the end Everything makes money on this farm but the cow, but shes family now and i can no longer deal with store bought milk or ice cream.
What a great channel this is. Historically interesting, relevant, and lots of useful how-tos, all presented in an interesting and unique way. Thanks for all the great content. It's been very useful and motivating as a beginner homesteader. My old man is into all the old stuff in a similar way to you. Good for these things to be archived on the internet.
I go back and rewatch your videos all the time. I have dairy sheep now but have caught milk cow fever again. Hoping I can eventually get my property set up for a couple of cows
I missed this channel so much! I'm a single father and I am planning to start a farm soon. As soon as I can build a little place for my son and I to live, we already have the land. It fills my heart with so much joy just to dream of living this way, the natural way. I'm ready to get to work already! In the meantime, I'll just watch you work for a while.
Great video. I keep 2 cows; one "milcher" and one "beefer". I breed them both to angus every year, raise the calves for sale and beef. I also cut my own hay, which takes a good deal of time in the summer.
Oh. That is so sweet. Those great ladies and the Blevins family are probably so proud you shared your memories of them. Now everyone who sees your video can think of them too if they make their own butter and cream.
Oh my goodness - you have no idea how glad I am you are back! We followed our guts and sold everything for a homestead life (inspired by your techniques) and we have TWO milk cows and are only 4 months into homesteading.... Thank you for making content, God bless and merry Christmas
Oh my goodness we love our sweet little Jersey for all the same reasons!! She gives back way more than she takes and is a part of our family. Thank you for the wonderful video! Looking forward to more🤗
Alabama is a huge fan. I can tell you. Theres nothing in this world like fresh butter an that prize butter milk. After drinking that the store bought stuff just doesn't make it. Merry Christmas to you an your family. And may God bless you an keep you safe.
I remember vacation Bible schools just like yours, same kool-ade, same little cookies, same sweet little Grannies. But we must have been a rich congregation because we had real paper plates! Thanks for the trip down memory lane🐝🤗❤️
Yeah, buddy! The Germany crew wishes y'all a belated merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! The boys were excited to hear this music start. Your little shed video inspired them...I caught their tiny butts outside sawing up some cedar tops and snitching rusty tin from my stack to build a firewood shed. I never said a word...just let em go. 😂 They did a fine job. Thanks for the video, sir.
I'm almost giddy when I see you've posted another video. You bring back my childhood also, vacation bible school, colored drinks, the store bought and HOMEMADE cookies. And the older (Matriarch) church ladies. I was raised on cows and powered milk along with the wonderful butter cookies ... Thank you for another GREAT video (memory).
Thanks for sharing this with us all. I find it to be very inspirational. Ive had some spare time recently and have been working on a model of your barn. I hope to have it done in a few weeks.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Pa Mac! This sandy clay coastal soil in my garden sure would be better off if I had a cow grace it with some gifts… that is some wonderful stuff. Granny always said it wouldn’t burn plants.
Aw...it's over already? I love your milk cow, she's so beautiful, and so is her baby!!! I've heard that Jersey's can be ornery, I'd still get one! I pay $16.00/gal for raw Jersey cow milk here in So.Cal. and it's worth every penny!
Pa, I was fixin to say it was bout time for another video! Made my day. God bless, merry Christmas! The youngins are still enjoying their books and I used some your guidance on my last little barn buildin. We got a new baby donkey before Thanksgivin!
Love the video, and can't wait to see more on milking and (maybe?) some oxen stuff in the future. The new guitar tune is lovely. That's not THE John Arnold, the well-known luthier, is it? Great playing, on both your parts, whoever it is.
Long time, no see. I was afraid. Having cow is the key when you want functional garden/field. Manure cannot be substituded. Also I do share your choice of Jersey cows. They have the most sweet and creamy milk.
Years ago at some dollar store on sale. Bought a whole stack of 'em for like a dollar or two, and reshaped 'em to be more traditional lookin'. Thanks for watchin'!
