The Ming Shi TTO Adjustable 3000s Safety Razor 

Mingshi is not well known in China, except for the fact that he appears online when buying cheap razors, and many people buy him for his novel appearance. Many Chinese consumers have no idea that he is a copy of another product. The company does not have its own original design for razors, but sells them by copying well-known products, which are very poor friendly. Mingshi's products are inexpensive and barely usable for the Chinese, but because there are so many brands of razors in China, Mingshi isn't well-known either.

OK ...Second shave, Nacet still loaded and set to 9. A tricky shave but BBS and no irritation. This razor is very reactive to settings changes and requires wild changes in the angle you shave at. At setting 9 I have the handle almost parallel to the face / head pretty well square to get this thing to cut. I think skill is what got me a decent shave with this thing rather than design excellence LOL.Interestring shave but Ming Shi still has a way to go before they can be taken seriously with this style of razor - which is a pity because it is otherwise pretty sturdy.

Many thanks for this insightful review on this razor. Pre-shave oils, I think not for me because of the oilness, and that somehow interfering with the soap's lather perhaps even a residue of oilness left on the brush. If I were to use a pre-shave, I'd go for a mild scented glycerine soap. But, a decent shaving soap/cream/croap should be able to stand by themselves. Thanks for uploading!

Another great shave Mark. I ordered one of these from Aliexpress I was looking forward to it but not so sure now still it was only £6 inc delivery from China after the discount vouchers. Still I'm sure i'll still.have fun trying it out

Mine came yesterday, i'll be giving it a shot tonight, definitely doesn't have the same build quality as the Ming Shi 2000s but for £8.50 what the hell. UPDATE: Shaved with it on friday night, had to whack it up to 9 to get a decent shave. It does what it says on the tin but it's nowhere near the quality Of the 2000s so I'd say get or stick with the 2000.

Hello Mark, my notes regarding MT dark limes read: "fantastic scent, but not a good face feel and post, leaves my skin tight. Soap could be irritating". This is too bad, because I really love the scent, and the beautiful jar the soap comes in. Fortunately Meissner Tremonia soaps have different ingredients, they are not based on the same formula. For example I use "Pots of Milk" which is skin friendly and produces a great lather, while being unscented. Regards, Roberto

Interesting shave Mark. I bought a couple of these (yeah I always buy 2 when they're this price) and they arrived today. One thing I always note about TTOs is they tend to have issues with providing a well-captured blade with a consistent edge (no curls, waves or smiles). As a result, I always find they are more prone to nick me up here and there. I'll try shaving with the 3000S today and see how we get along LOL.

Love watching these videos some of the Chinese razors are good Weishi 9306 L in Brass colour I got this after watching The Mad Scientist and this particular model is a great value razor and always gives you a great shave

The Weishi is probably in the same price range Out comes the ✏️ aaargh love them great for larger nicks

I want to like the razor particularly for the price. But I’m a snob, I want quality. I couldn’t cope with the loose adjuster. But your honest review is brilliant!

If I'm completely honest with myself my Ming Shi Merkur knock off and a stick of Arko is all I would need for a quality shave. But the shaving bug is about controlled avarice. Good video as usual.

My go to razor was ej89 I recently bought the rockwell 2c. Gosh, what an excellent piece I have 15 razors now

Extremely interesting review. I think you might of had a first in terms of RU-vid reviews on this new Ming Shi 3000S. I don’t dislike the look of it and as you say look at the price point. But I have a 2000 and never really use it. Great showcase.

Guess I'll write that razor off as something to try. Based on my experience the inexpensive Chinese nonadjustable razors I've experimented with seem to do a reasonable job.

I use my ming shi 3000 at level 3 , very mild razor , also mi ming shi 2000 are great .

I get that sometimes with soaps I just try and get the shave finished as soon as I can although it only seems to happen when doing a face lather

Interesting to see your review on the new Ming Shi 3000, also to hear your statements about how it compares to the Ming Shi 2000. I had a 2000 myself, but it was crap: unequal blade exposure, unequal blade alignment, and the adjustment dial did not work properly. Since I only paid about 6£ I did not bother and disposed of it. I don't know if I want to try the 3000. Probably not.

Mark, Just found a blade that suites my sensitive face at last. These blades are awesome. Gillette Wilkinson sword blades from india. Called a saloon pack. Really cheap and i highly recommend.

In my opinion, the Meissner Tremonia "Dark Limes* is the best lime scent ever. It is delicious, dark and manly, not sweet like lemonade. By the way, it is not a soap, nor a cream, it is a shaving PASTE. It is something more or less unique. A pleasant addition to a wet shaver's den. If you don't like the consistency of a paste, they offer this scent as a hard soap as well.

An interesting review. 💈👍 I had a bad experience with the Futur clone, unequal blade exposure and alignment. And the adjustment mechanism wasn't working properly. I know, you are bound to run into problems sooner or later with razors that cost under 10 $ or £, There is no room for quality control. I am now looking into the (new?) YINTAL Adjustable TTO DE-razor. Right now it is available for around 24 US$ at AliExpress, including shipping. It is another price range and therefore I hope there is more left for quality control. And, by the way, I absolutely love the shaving paste "Dark Limes" by Meissner Tremonia. For my nose it is the best lime/lemon scent because it is not sweet, more dark and manly. Dear Mark, thanks for sharing. For me, based on your review, if a razor that is mild at its highest setting (9), it means that it won't shave at all at any setting below 6. And that in its turn means that I will not buy it. I am not sure if I would agree with you that at a price below 10 quid, it is good value. If it does not shave, it is a waste of money. I have to give it to the razor that it does not look bad at al. Nevertheless, even if one wants it only as an addition to his collection, it is good to have something that you can shave with as well, not only for display purposes. I would rather pay 25-30 Pounds and get an excellent razor that looks nice AND shaves... I'd rather pay 100-150 Pounds and get a collectible or a "high-end" razor. Then again, that's me.

Interesting, so the styptic pencil is basically an astringent (alum) with talc added as an absorbent (sort of like a powdered version of tissue paper😊) Re your scratches from the face scrub, I wonder if they're having to transition from plastic beads to some kind of organic material and didn't quite get it right. Looks like a good beginner razor for someone unsure of the hobby. I wonder if there's a hack you can do to stiffen up the adjuster. Maybe some Teflon tape or something like that. Take care!

This raises the question for those of us who don't do reviews: do you buy 4 inexpensive razors with some quality issues or 1 expensive one which has no quality issues? (of course, buying the 4 is more fun)

What materials is it made of? I wonder whether yours was incorrectly assembled. Many 2000s shipped with reversed baseplates. The loose adjustment knob feels suspicious to me.

So easy shaving

I bought one of those and I've just had a shave with it. No issues with adjustment. I had to crank it all the way up to setting 9 for a lovely, close shave. Not a single nick! I like aggressive razors and this one performed excellent on the highest setting. Regard from NI! :)

I am definitely going to add this razor to my Collection. I like cheap...oops...I mean inexpensive stuff. :D

Great video Mark, been looking at those for awhile for gifts but the 2000s definitely is more efficient. Wonder if the quality control is like that for all of them or did you just get a dud? I would see if they can replace it for you. Hope your having a great weekend mate. ☺️👍

I forgot to ask: when you go past #5 to #9 does your bar get cooked....almost like a slant.....its absurd... Mine is useless, and someone elses is the same but he is OK shaving w it....I suppose we all have different hair and expectations

Seems that all are made in the same place and just do minor cosmetic changes...but significant differences in price.....$10 vs $60.....

Looks like a cheap copy of an rex ambassador to me.. but working almost perfect... The ambassador has the same problem... The adjustment works to easy!y😉

That's one heavy razor. Be gentler with face scrubs or you will mess your face up for sure and definitely don't shave right after exfoliating with it.

No amount of comfortability can diminish the fact that this razor is just butt ugly. And I don't find this razor very comfortable to begin with.

de echo van a ver usuarios que la van a encontran que no corta nada y que la construcción etc etc etc es una buena construcción hoja alienada es firme y si tienes una crema de supermercado con esta razor no dejara irritación y si tienes una crema de verdad no dejara mellas es como edwin jagger ajustable en términos de sensación.
