new subscriber here.. you inspired me to try some NYC fishing! this video is giving me envy though ahaha! Is the area you are at in this video near NYC?
Its a fun place to fish! Thank you for watching the channel and I am siked you are giving fishing a try. You can totally catch these fish in NYC, have fun out there! Should be a great Fall run
Great content, what size reel is paired up with the jigging world nexus rod? ML/ MH 7' or 7'6? I am interested in a fall run set up and was wondering how you like that rod for schoolies. thanks
@@mattconnolly6621 I like them a lot, they aren’t that sensitive but it’s great for bass in current. I think it’s MH 7’ and 4.5k slammer III. They stopped making that rod and reel but I bet the updated versions work great
Sick dude! Incredible fishing. I’ve been getting them on live spot but the bass are either there or they’re not (temp related I suspect as you allude to).
@@LI_Fishing_and_Knives they don’t like the heat. But the cool mornings might get them to bite. This was kinda rare for August, the bite shut down but was a nice tease for the Fall. Thank you for watching!
For sure, it is a Hogy Charter Grade Slider 1.5oz in Albie Crack color. I've used it in a bunch of colors and they all produce. They aren't cheap but it'll out fish an SP minnow
Mad fun, hahah glad you caught the Wonka comment. Every time I take that lure out I think about that quote. Really appreciate you watching berteisenbraun7415!
Yeo dumb question but I always wondered how do you cast so far with no weights on ur fishing pole when I have no weight on my line my fishing pole can only cast like very short distances
@@riman1101 it’s not a dumb question, ask whatever fishing related Q’s you want. I fish braid and pretty sensitive rods but I did make a “how to cast a fishing rod” video. Explains the technique if it helps. Pairing your reel with the right line and rod combo makes a big difference. Also keeping your line clean after fishing, rinse it with freshwater helps from the sticky salt
The ones in this video are an older Owner model. Very sharp but they have bent out and I cannot totally recommend. I just grabbed a new slider body and paired it VMC hooks and for the 1.5oz you'd want: VMC Inline Single 4x Strong #3/0 . Here is a link: amzn.to/3XhdN9l
Weakfish is a sea trout. Speckled trout do the same stomach swallow thing with small lures so I called it a trout. But in the northeast it's totally a weakfish. Thank you for the comment Martin
@@BobAquatic OK. I didn't think you had confused the two species although some people do. Weakfish--Cynoscion Regalis whereas Speckled Trout--Cynoscion Nebulosis.
Thank you Lou! It is a G Loomis E6X fast action inshore model. They stopped making them but the closest you can get is the GCX Inshore model. They fixed all the tip issues on the E6X and are great.
@@FishingWithLou The GCX are great, one thing about Loomis is they are US made and lifetime no questions warranty. You just register the rod and its like a $100 no questions if you break it
