Really interesting. I know fire is critical to forest health. In the PNW we used to clear cut then burn off the slash back in the 60's and 70's. When you think about it, true de-forestation can only happen with a fire. With all the "new" forest management processes NOT clear cutting and burning, it makes me wonder if the old timers had something going good in actually replicating the natural process?
Those "noise cancelling" microphones make no sense outdoors in quiet places. Also trying to use them to pick up the sizzling of the pine cone is totally lost, man.
