Not gonna lie, there is something satisfying about seeing the Misfits have a moment of total victory. They might be really wrong-headed but they also try really, really hard.
The whole thing where they commit felony after felony after felony with tons of witnesses (sometimes even when they do it on national television) but never have consequences really got on my nerves. I know it's a cartoon, but still...so many assault and attempted first degree murder charges...which was stupid because they proved to be super popular all the time.
Pizzazz's confidence and pride for herself is actually quite inspirational. She has many positive qualities that are easily overlooked by her reckless behaviors.
Well, that's to be expected when your mom bails on you, and your dad constantly throws money at you because he doesn't know how to meet your emotional needs!
Yeah, Pizazz has many fine qualities. Once you overlook the fact that she's a psycho. Just how many attempts has she made on Jem's life, and shown zero remorse?
Give some credit to the Misfits, they combined the forces of the three biggest groups and created a legacy that will never be forgotten! Too bad they didn't turn a profit though.
Lyrics: It's happened, I've made it I'm finally here At the top of the charts (Top of the charts) It's happened The dream of a lifelong career I'm at the top of the charts Always in the running But I, I never got the vote, no (They said that you would never break trough) Oh yeah, well pardon me while I gloat It's happened, I knew it It's where I belong I'm at top of the charts (Top of the charts), yeah (It's happened, we've done it) (We helped her resolve) (At the top of the charts) The top, the top, the top I had my taste of glory I'm determined I will stay At the top of the charts (Top of the charts) At the top of the charts (Top of the charts) The top, the top, the top.
+Keipi The holograms line is actually "It's happened, we've done it, we helped put her song at the top of the charts" I've seen the site you pulled these lyrics from, other sites are more accurate.
The alternate versions were never performed by the singers they consist of Anne Bryant on Piano(I think) and Ford Kinder singing the lyrics. The lyrics are the similar but the melody is different.
In this episode the Holograms seemed completely lost and resigned without Jem. At 1:21 they even say about Pizzazz "It's happened ,we've done it .We helped her resolve at the top of the charts." Minx and the Starlights girls were the true heroes of this episode because Minx helped Rio to rescue Jem and the Starlight girls' behaviour forced Pizzazz to abandon Starlights Music to Jerrica. And without Minx's help Rio wouldn't have succeed to rescue Jem at all. But nevertheless Rio sabotaged Minx's boat after that (and worse he was proud of it) .Rio's act was stupid : of course he wanted to punish Riot for his bad behaviour but Minx was not responsible for that at all!Rio was ungrateful about Minx!
Love these extended takes, Pizzazz has such a strong and distinctive voice that it's often easy to miss some of the background tune, and they really are good, strong tunes in their own right. Cheers! :)
When I first watched Jem at 13, of course I prefer songs from Jem and the Holograms. As I grow older, I like to listen to the songs from this TV series, but I realized some the songs from The Misfits are better than Jem and the Holograms. I like some Jem and the Hologram's songs but sometimes I prefer The Misfit's songs.
If I remember right, the Misfits were gonna get a drummer, but the show and toy line ended up getting canned, after a legal dispute with Barbie (yes, THAT Barbie), who, at the time, was doing her own music band-based show. At the very least, that's according to the Toys That Made Us.
I always thought it was really nice that Pizzazz let the Holograms and Stingers become official Misfits, even putting their faces on the album cover and all lol
bizotically_yours83 Actually yes. All of them are off color. Except Jetta but it’s hard to get “black” wrong... stormer’s hair has a purple hue and if you compare Pizzazz’s color during top of the charts to every other clip put in, she usually has a tarnished bronze/green color to her hair but here it’s like someone spilled highlighter fluid in her shampoo...
Strange that you took this particular song for your 1st extended, but it worked well... Let's see what else you can achieve in other songs than can be extended (the record is 4:30+, but some songs are very difficult to strech before getting monotonous, as could be seen from other work...). THANKS FOR THE DEDICATION!
TheMitigating The actual band, The Misfits, as opposed to this very awesome fictional one. Their lead singer at the time was Jerry Only. It was an allusion to the other Misfits.
