The Missing Third Twin Who Never Made It Into Transformers 2 

so you are telling me that there was supposed to be another nuisance that could have attacked my boy Devastator?

So my idea for this character is simple… A small glitchy Decepticon named Reject cast out by Megatron as they were “too weak to be a Decepticon” During the second movie they’d actually get along with Sam and bumblebee and try to avoid combat. Instead of the Railgun killing Devastator Skids and Mudflap would stall Devastator while Jolt, Ratchet and Reject built an immobilizer grenade. They’d disable Devastator after he got about 20% of the star harvester visible, after that Devastator would fall apart and the Constructicons would tumble down the pyramid. This way we could see Devastator in DOTM. DOTM: Reject would show up in the background a few times in his minivan mode and would be a part of the Dreds highway chase scene. He’d lead them into the city straight to Ironhide and Sideswipe starting the standoff scene. During Sentinels betrayal we’d see Skids, Mudflap and Reject buy everyone else in the base time to escape. After injuring Sentinel Skids and Mudflap would be destroyed by the Cosmic Rust cannon. After the destruction of his brothers, Reject would blast Sentinel out of the base with a rocket. Another scene I’d change would be when Optimus and his Jetpack get tangled in rope, Reject would cut him down instead then wish Prime luck as he flew off. He’d later be picked up by Bumblebee and Sam on their highjacked Decepticon ship and would tag along with them for the rest of the movie. AOE. He’d be a member of the surviving Autobot team and help the team by (I don’t remember AOEs plot that well btw) ejecting the prison section of Lockdowns ship. He’d be riding on Swoop and holding on for dear life as he’d shoot KSI drones below him and near the end of the movie he’d be injured by Lockdown. TLK Realistically he’d have been unceremoniously killed off offscreen in between AOE and TLK but that’s no fun sooooooooo… In between AOE and TLK he fled to that knight castle with a ton of other transformers (You know the place with French accent Hot-rod) and would get fixed up and later meet up with Bumblebee and Cade when they arrived. When they stole a submarine (that may or may not be Nautica) he’d drive off the dock and hitch a ride with them. During the Bumblebee/Knights vs Nemisis Prime fight he’d be fighting two of the knights at once to stop them from going after Prime. After Bee got through to Prime he’d go with the team to fight Quintessa. Using his shield arms like Mixmaster he’d cover Squeaks as they used their cannon arm to blast Quintessa’s army. ROU So in Rise Of Unicron he’d fight- wait a minute. Scrap. There’s no sixth Bayverse movie. Hmmmm… I can make up whatever I want! In rise of Unicron the objective is to put Unicron to sleep and stop Quintessa from destroying the earth. Very dramatic I know. So um plot… hmmm At the start of the movie there’s a dramatic news broadcast about Unicrons spiky horn bits popping up all over the world. During this broadcast we see a truce be formed between the Autobots, Decepticons and the Military. The purpose of the truce is so the whole world can focus on not exploding and turning into a Death Star knockoff. (you know it’s true) in the middle of the film, Reject would team up with a gang of space travelling/weapon dealing Ex Decepticons called the Combaticons. While Optimus, Megatron, Bumblebee, Nitro Zeus, Hot rod and Nautica searched the world (in teams of 3) for Quintessa and her Infernocon minions, Reject and the Combaticons Permanently ‘borrowed’ high tech military weapons around the world. Half the things ‘borrowed’ were simply because the Combaticons wanted them while the other half were being used to create the strongest immobilizer of all time. In the climax of the film, everyone would make their way down, (Via hidden entrances in his horns) past unicrons defences to his spark chamber. Quintessa with an army of heavily armed infernocons would be trying to blast open Unicrons spark chamber while the Autobots, Decepticons, The now combined Bruticus and a healthy amount of American soldiers try to stop them. Bruticus would fight half the infernicons (infernicons can combine remember?) while the two armies clashed. Megatron and Optimus would kill Quintessa causing all the Infernicons to deconbine and stare at her corpse in horror. Bruticus would plant the bomb just as on the surface, in between the two horns Unicrons maw began to open. When they got back to the surface the bots would gaze from their place on the horn in fear. When the mouth opened halfway, everyone felt a shock as the horns quickly descended back into the earths crust. Everyone hoppped off the horn and Unicron was put into a deep stasis once more. Swindle walked up to the Shocked Autobot Reject and whispered “Now there is the slight matter of payment…” The end, Hasbro please hire me….

Definitely super interesting to see a third "twin" that would be a Smart car but like Mirage in DOTM, the licensing didn't go well. Great digging!!

My theory is that the 3rd twin was a brainwashed autobot who was captured after he was presumed dead after he failed to defuse a deception bomb. But after skids and mudflap saw him alive, and talked some sense into him, he would defect back to the autobots. However between rotf and dotm, he would be killed when he would presumably come into contact with a devcon. Note: i based this around the concept art with the collar.

I always love the bayverse obscure characters,like the ones from the toylines(like longarm-stratosphere,salvage),or from the tie-in video game(like overcast-dropkick etc...),and the scrapped characters like wreckage and the third missing win,keep covering more obscure-scrapped bayverse characters !

I think the title should be changed to “How Transformers 2 originally had the Twins be Triplets.” I think “third twin” just sounds ridiculous.

Third twin huh. Could've been interesting if done right. Also I feel like he would've been a decepticon hunted down by the twins in DOTM similar to sideways and not to mention the third twin kinda looks like sideways. Maybe sideways had a child with flamewar off screen and make the third twin lol but for real wish the third twin being hunted down by the twins in DOTM would've been good seeing more action scenes

My best theory on his cancellation and the deleted scene is that 4-2 was scrapped since he was to similar to mixmaster, but was considered to return for tf3. However, the twins’ bad reception plus the story pacing made it so he/she never got the chance. Also, you gotta admit that even though the films have many flaws, one thing modern fans acknowledge about the bayverse is the unique designs. These days everything is pretty much g1 in design when it comes to shows & movies. Only exception being Bumblebee.

maybe 4-2 was supposed o be an "evil twin" type of guy because he REALLY looks like a decepticon

I really like the idea that Skids and Mudflap would have their own nemesis like a mini boss that could have taken place across the movies

His design does seem kinda spiky for some reason, other than the fact that he could’ve been a potential decepticon. My favorite design for this guy would be his more small and compact, because it shares the same body type as the rest of his brothers. It makes him look like he could be a twin to Skids and Mudflap, even tho he’s still more skinny compared to his brothers even when compact. Still not sure why he looks like a decepticon tho, unless they wanted to pull an “evil twin” type of character.

if you ask me, I would have liked to have seen him as the voice of reason to those 2 nuisances and get along with Sam and maybe even deal more damage to Devastator than the other 2 did.

I really like the one with the bomb suit like design. I kinda wish that did make it into the movie, and imagine how the toy would look like.

I've been thinking a thought that this "Unknown" triplet came after Skids and Mud Flap's arrival on earth because the twins somehow transformed into a combined Ice Cream Van, and I wouldn't know where the triplet would form onto because the vehicle is small. So I'm guessing he was found after Skids and Mud flap got their new modes. (Not when they got their added black coloring). Unless they got into a little fight on where to go, I guess the Triplet didn't want to go where they wanted to go or something like that.

Theory Idea: Are Brains and Wheelie creations from the Allspark (Post Mission City Battle)? What I mean by that is like, were they spawned when Sam accidentily trigger the allspark while running to the building he was told to run to

There should have been decepticon counter parts of skids and mudflap but I really wanted the third twin to be in the movies too

I really hope that Twofour was a Decepticon counterpart to the twins because I couldn't sit still while seeing just one of them, let alone two of them at the same time.

my theory is that 422 might had BEEN a decepticon but was secretly being a auto bot to get information. And that ally scene might had been where skids and mudflap fought with 422 but sadly died during the fight. Maybe the reason why he was cut was because the scene didn't exactly line up with the lore and story board.

He's probably just a very early concept to what we call now the "dreads" that seems to be the case since in the video there are some dread characteristics on him with the four eyes and even the back armor resembling the dreadlocks of the dreads plus it also implies that It moved on all fours, possibly while running. But who knows?

I hate the fact the easily coolest looking member of the trio got cut. Granted the concept art differs a lot but still Totally would love to see this concept be recycled in future movies although it probably won’t be

I think the three were triplets, but 42 didn’t see eye to eye with his brothers, leading to the two joining separate sides. Which could have been interesting to see, like earth families who dread meeting each other on thanksgiving knowing that it would only be a shouting match because their political beliefs are complete opposites.

Maybe the third twin could be named huffer, gears, blaster, beachcomber, smokescreen, Trail Breaker, prowl, windcharger, etc. There are many possibilities.

I really like the idea of this third character being the voice of reason for Skids and Mudflap. I could totally imagine a "family drama" scene where he would try to break up a fight when it was already in full swing, and either Skids or Mudflap would say something like "Shut up, you ain't even our brother, you were born a Decepticon!"

As someone who has designed characters, the face he has so many different designs suggests they couldn’t think of a good enough design for him and they gave up and settled for 2 but it could be they might have thought 3 would be too many

I honestly don’t know how to feel about the 3rd twin who was gonna appear in ROTF. On one hand, it would have been cool to see him appear. But on the other hand, it would have been too much, and two is already enough.

Man I didn't know there was a third of the twins and I really wish he was in movies with a combination with the long neck since he looks very expressive, with the a combination of the bomb suit like design and it would be interesting if he was like an ex decepticon due to the design and the voice of reason to the twins but I would love to see how the trio would handle against Devastator though do you think you could try to do a what if the third twin was in revenge of the fallen please

i mean looking at the concept art, hes got heavy decepticon styling like the spiky appendages and face, red eyes and lights plus that decepticon silver and black alot of the protoforms use. maybe he was meant to be a decepticon version of the twins but they never got around to a concept for his twin as it were

I have a name for fourtwo that would be more down to the universe. Skids and mudflap are named after car parts or moves. So I’d say that his name would be doughnut to kinda be like skids

I feel like the two would've been this fellows younger "brothers", with him not being much of a voice of reason but instead just getting them to shut up

What i think is that most likley when all decepticons came from the portal and scanned any car or vehicle near he saw a smart car and went with it and they skids and mudflap found him and they remebered that their brother left them and joined the decepticons so they attacked him possibly didnt kill him since they seem to have only 1 weapon a small turret of some sort on their arms so maybe their upgraded form got some sort of cannon so they blew him away and attacked but once they got to the base they met their doom and got killed my sentinal prime but i do wish that the scene of them being killed and them attacking 42 or four two got shown it would have been cool to know some past of the twins they are some of my favorite transformers in the bayverse since they act like me and my brother alot when i first saw the twins, out of my 10 fav transformers i am proud to say they are 7 and 8th place

Say, that is very interesting to note here about the supposed third twin that was supposed to be in Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. Despite the fact that Fortu never made it to screens, I would like the idea of this bot to come onto the screen, because it is now only shrouded in mystery. Also, as you examined the concept art of Fortu, it looks more like he could be a Decepticon rather than an Autobot which is fitting due to his monstrous form, the number of eyes, and the way he would walk in a quadruped fashion, which most Decepticon protoforms share. It will only be a matter of time before the film makers might revisit Fortu and perhaps maybe get him on big screen and maybe give him a makeover and a more fitting backstory and background about him. 👍

Quite disturbing, this whole thing reminds me of the triplet Mann brothers from the infamous TF2 (Team Fortress 2) where there were two brain defective twins named Redmond Mann and Blutarch Mann, who has a lost third twin named Grey Mann, who is the third and deformed bother, but more intelligent then the other two
