Imo the show needs to return the Mitchell’s to their former glory. Barely any Mitchell’s left on the square, could use some returning and possibly a new one joining the cast. I miss the era with Peggy, Phil, Ronnie, Roxy and Ben in the Vic, with other Mitchell’s like Archie, Billy and Sam in the show as well.
They could've done that with Jay and Ben being the new Mitchell brothers. And having Jay's cousins come in to stir up trouble and maybe aunt Sal's kids/grandkids coming in as love interests for Jay
New joining the cast is Mandy Richardson from Holyoke and charity dingie from emadle farms and buster Smith from Holyoke and Fergus from Holyoke and Jim McDonald from coronation street as well
Ronnie was my favourite Mitchell cause she was so relatable, complex and intriguing. Love how she always had that cold, detached blank death stare all the time. She was also pretty disturbing and sinister when she went through her dark, moody, murderess phase. She was much more scarier and ballsy than Phil ever was. The legendary Peggy was my 2nd fave Mitchell of course
When Peggy asked Phil to kill Archie for her and got angry with him I lost respect for her. Even tho I couldn't stand Archie how could she? Peggy could have done it herself. She also seemed to make Phil always think he wasn't as great as Grant. Peggy and Billy were the only Mitchell's I liked. Ronnie treating Danielle so awful and Roxie sleeping with her sister's love Jack turned me off from them. Phil setting up Dennis to be murdered and he and Grant were bullies and hit women, Ben was fine as a small lad but grew up messed up killing Heather, framing Patrick. Sam was self absorbed. The Mitchells made for good story but they weren't my cup of tea as they were antagonists.
What do you mean? Eastenders was hugely popular before the Mitchell's arrived in 1990. The Mitchell clan were good in the 90's but now the whole show is rubbish, a pale ghost of it's former self.
Personally think the Watts, Fowlers, Mitchells, Jacksons, Butchers, Slaters, Millers Brannings Masoods, ,Evans families were fantastic back In the day ❤

Grant could possibly be making a comeback as Ross Kemp said he misses acting. I don't think he has had much work because of covid so it would be cool to see him make a comeback. His last return was a bit underwhelming for me.
EastEnders is too soft these days for a character like grant each time he makes a return it's toned down can you imagine him hanging with Ben and Callum in the gay bar really!?!
Eastenders hasn't been the same since Peggy past away, i loved this soap growing up and the brothers always bought the excitement for me, i mean loved the other characters of course but The Mitchell's will never be replaced, i mean Phil single handedly has had some awesome story lines but during the 90s when him, Grant, Sam and Peggy were together on screen was magic, they came across as a real family especially Phil & Grant who look and feel like real brothers, i think Sharonsgate was the peak of Eastenders and a soap story that ill never forget, that and many more stories that Grant & Phil were in was some of best in soap history, Ross Kemp is a legend but so our the whole family of Actors who has been apart of the Mitchell's clan over the years, ive not watched it in 5 years but i wish before Phil has said his final lines that Grant comes back even if its to do with Phil's final storyline, id watch that for sure.. 👍🏽💯

@@ripzoh169 Ross kemp was free to work last year and said he d like to go back if asked but the BBC never did and he ended up doing a quiz show in Scotland. The show is terrible at the moment. If Grant came back with his two kids it would be awesome. Imagine them behind the bar running it, that's where grants best acting was.

Whomever did the Casting for these Two did a great job! Also Ross Kemp did a documentary about Crime in Philadelphia and when he interviewed folks they had no idea of his UK Soap Legacy.

The Mitchell's seem to be non existent these days. Even three years ago they were a force with Phil, Louise, Jay, Ben, Dennis and living under the same roof. Now Phil seems to be an outcast in his own home with the Slater's taking over. Ben is rarely seen. I think they've forgotten Ben and Jay have been best mates/step brothers for 10 years. Billy is non existent. Obviously we have the current writers to thank for forgetting there cast and what they actually are and do
Ben and Jay’s non-existent interaction really annoys me, this is one of the things I miss about the Harry Reid era, his Ben really had great chemistry with Jay and you really felt like they were brothers, now they barley interact.
@@SM-th7pw Yeah I know. Although I don't think this is down to the actors lack of chemistry. I generally think the writers have forgotten how close they were. I mean they have been friends before Jason died. And then obviously more so when Billy became Jays guardian. I think the two actors are friends outside of EastEnders. It's quite funny that Jay ends up pretty close friends with every Ben character changes obviously him and Harry Reid are extremely close in real life hence why it worked well on screen
@@samuelstevens248 Of course, Max Bowden and Jamie Borthwick do have good chemistry when they’re together, in the beginning of Max’s run as Ben they did have alot of scenes together, the scene in the hospital was fantastic, but the the writers or whoever just seemed to drift away from Ben and Jay’s dynamic over time for whatever reason.

What's funny about the scene with ronnie and jack playing poker, 12. 45 into the video you see ronnie has four 9's and a 6, while jack has four 3's and a jack, the next shot we see of jacks cards he has four jacks and a 3, while ronnie had four Kings and a 9, it's the same hand so the cards shouldn't have changed, did anyone else spot it
I can’t quite believe the scene with Sharon humiliating Grant (1995). It just doesn’t feel like what Sharon would do. She was genuinely hurt and embarrassed by the fallout with the affair with Phil. I just find it hard to believe that she would go through this very public charade just to get back at Grant. And it’s very rich coming from her to act the victim when she is the one who slept with her husbands wife. I don’t condone Grant offering Sharon to his friends at all but he was deeply hurt.
