So, the front end of the MK5 GTI finally gets a little TLC. A couple of effective mods to refresh the front of the car with an OEM+ look. I fit a new front grill, recreate the front badge, fit a splitter, install a number plate, fix some damage and attempt to remove the headlight tint all in one go!

Great job, that cheap ebay rubber strip looks really good. 👌 I think the headlights have got tinted lacquer on them, so using a better grade of sand paper should get it off and then you be able to polish them afterwards. I wouldn't use paint stripper, that'll probably attach the plastic.

Thanks mate! Yeah you’re probably right, I’ve found you can get replacement lenses for around £30 so may just attempt to split and replace. Can’t beat brand new!

I can’t get the grill of. Al the screw undone but it’s still stuck 😅

Going to get new grills for mine next I think to tidy it up. Will do the grills by the fog lights also

They definitely make a huge difference! To be honest my fog grills were changed by the previous owner and are gloss black, it’s starting to flake a little which is a shame.

Thanks a lot mate, the plate was from pro plates, they do custom size stick on plates and mine is 305 wide x 95 high !

Looks so much better, tbf I think the new red stripe around the front grill makes the biggest difference 😎 Rather than the faded old stripe 👍 New plates look 😎😎

Thanks dude, I agree it’s just so vibrant. Did love that smoothed grill look but not worth the hassle of getting pulled!
