They should either raise the front windscreen more or turn it into hardtop and lift the suspension slightly so it can be driven on public roads!! What a sound 👌
The Corrado should have never been taken out of production. That was the best car on the road that most people could afford back in 1990. An "Old School" Scirroco revival would also be a great idea IMHO.
I've always loved the look of the 'Vision GTI' back in the day. This GTI Roadster looks a lot like that one. I wish VW took the Vision GTI design, especially the front and applied it to the production Golf GTI. Guess we'll have to make do with the MK7 GTI, which is still amazing.

The "regular" GTI was the only German car I've owned.....and it's a fantastic all around every day driver that looks like any small car.....yet purrs smoothly along at 135 mph on the highway (in Mexico 🇲🇽 of course 😉).
The world could've been very very different if this was a production car. It's fantastic. That Go-Kart compact cars is really really underrated and should've been given a chance to be mass produced.

The lights on the sides and drl in the mirrors is actually very very interesting and cool idea, never thought of it. Just as usual from Autogefuehl the best and most interesting reviews, Cheers! That. Sound. Should’ve built it. But even if VW follows through on some of the more subtle changes you suggested they would at the end of the video, that would be progress.
VW needs to mass production on this. Amazing . Every one wants one. VW has done a first rate job on this. A corrado with that engine would be incredible.
They better take some design elements of this car and put it on the MK8 GTI facelift, because, say what you want, the mk8 golf is ugly. If they put this front on the mk8, the gti would be great again, dont you think?
Thanks for bringing this unusual car to our attention, I love seeing these prototype cars (not the right word since the project was canceled), but otherwise hidden car. That car would not be for me but I would have loved to see them on the road, very cool styling. Hard to believe that was done in 2014.

They should definitely make an electric version of this. A lot of the design concepts were used over the last decade so that’s not feeling especially lacking, but right now they’ve just got their track-only car and regular cars, not a road-suitable roadster like this
this car looks insane man.. i have a golf 6 gti but this gti is something completly different.. it looks great man.. almost like a supercar or something like that.. it reminds me on the gt by citroen
Great presentation Thomas as usual. However I desagree with you on one point, from the begining of your video I was thinking that the car looks somehow old style, when you mentioned 2014, I realised the feeling I had was correct.

Curious how much it cost to build, seems like a limited release 100 cars with a proper price of $500k … I’m sure it would have sold out…. You have the job in the world!
Pretty, impractical and old fashioned. It would not sell well as a production car, but if VW built it for collectors they could surely charge a pretty penny.
The car is absolutely beautiful. The horsepower is outstanding. The only drawback is that it's a convertible, the most impractical model on a car. I've never heard of a car without a top. Dust, rain, take it to the store or out to eat and watch it get stolen. Seriously?
The Design Vision concept cars are pretty cool. I actually prefer the hard top. But they won't ever make anything like that. The enthusiast market to them isn't really that important sadly. It's like the Golf GTI W12 concept. They supposedly were going to make it but said nahhhhh.
