@@b-rye223 That's not what I meant. Paul Heyman is a honest and fierce person. Rogan is pretentious and insincere. I think Heyman wouldn't stand for Rogan's shit
His Broadcasting back in the day was SO underrated, he had flawless psychology when drawing in the audience into the story-lines.. a true Cornerstone icon of Sports Entertainment in so many areas !! Actually he was part of the broadcast team during stint of "Two Man Power Trip" consisting of HHH & Stone Cold back in the day... That was killer, best heel combo EVER... too bad they only gave us a month of that... fk.
it's been said to death how smart Paul Heyman is his ability to exploit wrestlers strengths and hide their weakness's is that of a genius who else could have taken the sandman and new jack two guys that don't even know how to do a headlock and make them two of the biggest names in the history of ecw.
Yea dude this isn't a good take at all, clearly you know fuck all about wrestling, Jim Cornette shits over Heyman as a manager everyday of the week and twice on Sundays.
Thanks for uploading this interview. I've been meaning to watch the entire thing after seeing some segments uploaded by others. Heyman really does give some of the best interviews and is always a good listen.
This was an epic interview, Ariel. You are hot and cold as far as the things in which we agree, but it is always interesting, provocative and downright entertaining.
I've been a paul heyman fan since before CM punk made it a cool thing to be lol. This guy is so entertaining and intelligent. I love watching how he can get any emotions from the fans that he wants.
Paul fought all the yards in ECW he dug up talent from here there and he couldn't pay them a lot of money and he was going up against two Titans in the sport Paul Heyman is a god when it comes to putting wrestling together and story lines and what not and I'm something caught my attention and I'm watching this for the very first time in 9 years I didn't even have a smartphone back then I'm an older but I watched the hell of a lot of the old ECW and it was just outstanding you know they had it all from a to z oh that's all the time I'm going to take up by I have a lonely life so I just babble on and on and on and on and on but Paul Heyman is my number one of wrestling
wwe has gotten better since heyman came back last yr. last yr 2012 as lesnar agent also punk manager in punk long wwe title run. also agent/manager for current ic champion curtis axel also lesnar. heyman creative genius. also great manager. manager of champions!
His description of Vince is the reason why(unless he's forced) Vince won't be the one to bring wrestling back to the forefront again, and that's assuming that it's even possible in an industry were everything has already been done before. He changed wrestling in the mid-80's into what he wanted it to be, and if not for WCW he would have never changed it again. The NWO angle in the late 90's forced him to change it. The guy is too stubborn and stuck in his ways.
@@Vickmeister Makes me feel old. I wish I had been wrong, but I've heard enough Vince stories from various wrestlers, managers etc. to pretty much know exactly the kind of guy he is. He's gotten even worse over the last 8 years, as he no longer cares at all who the fans want to see which didn't use to be the case. A guy can be really popular with the fans but not Vince's personal cup of tea, so they go nowhere and eventually get released. He's still making great profit for now, but few are happy working there and viewership keeps dropping more and more each year. Not a good sign.
The interesting thing about Paul Heyman is that in WWE his character isa complete jerk and you can't help but hate him, but on the other hand, in reality he's a very smart and astute businessman and has a great mind. You've got to like and respect that.
It's interesting that they talk about boxing and appeal as far as people wanting to see X vs. X when, in retrospect, we know we had Mayweather/Pacquaio break PPV records after this interview took place.
tna should mix the veterans with new guys and build up the new stars and keep the old guys moving up the new talent paul heyman is very insitefull and interesting in the prowrestling world and in mma like hearing him talikng about it and listening to him you can actually learn something
It must have been interesting to watch Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Vince Jr. negotiate..2 guys who are the unabashed, unchallenged rulers of their worlds..would like to have been as fly on the wall for that meeting, those 2 guys negotiating, surrounded by their "Yes Crews"
I like that wwe doesn't try to beat ufc. I understand that they are competing for the same dollar. But there's room for both without the two inter mingling
this was the height of the ufc fad among the general public with brock still around....wonder what heyman thinks now about the 'success' of the industry
You mentioned has Vince ever brought up doing his version of ufc. Until Vince buys the ufc, he gave that idea up long ago in the Attitude Era with the Brawl For All. Its a mix between boxing and mma, comes across at first glance as boxing, but watch Bart Vs Godfather and you will see some very ufc/mma style take down attempts! After Bart knocked out every WWF superstar he fought, Vince was pissed, got butterbean to knock Bart out and threw away the whole concept.
dj boy Chill out? How was this comment taken as an angry rant?! I know long comments are a problem for people that cant read more than a sentence but that doesn't mean im pissed or frustrated. First lets start of with, i never said Vince was going to own, or planned on owning, or in the process of owning the UFC. The host of this show asked Paul "would Vince ever do his own version of the UFC". Vince already did that, long ago, in the 90s with Brawl for All which was very much an mma/boxing style. I liked it but the company hated it especially since Bart Gunn knocked out every wrestler he faced (including Godfather and Bradshaw). So they got Butterbean to knock Bart out ending his winning streak and the Brawl for All, all together. Since then Vince threw away the idea of ever copying the mma and wants nothing to do with real fighting.
So my point is not an angry rant, im perfectly fine and relaxed, all im saying is the only way Vince would do an MMA style event again would be if he were to buy out the UFC from White, otherwise there is no way after Brawl for All that he would do his own version of MMA.
Does anyone want to see Heyman and Cornette do a shoot interview together?, fuck if that happened it would be so goddamn funny seeing those two guys shoot together about wrestlers and the funny stuff that happened in their years in the wrestling business.
Heyman is a smart business mind. BUT, he is even better at playing the crowd. Unless an MMA production was going to let him go out and cut a promo, or introduce him into the fake promo's the UFC already runs, than his talents would be wasted. He is at home with sports entertainment.
