Battlerite is a game that at one point showed signs of greatness but sadly succumbed to a series of issues and poor developer decisions that have resulted in many labeling it as a failure.

Battlerite Royale had so much potential but putting a price on it and splitting it from Battlerite was a huge fail.

Yeah but the thing is both games had different developers and basically a different code so to put an example it could happen a situation like league and TFT that even tho theyre conpletely different when they made changes to TFT the changes would apply to league and viceversa which if u now how the league code kinda works u wouldnt be surprised but yeah basically even tho the champions were the same the only way to balance both needed to be separate ,but the part of being payd is tru tho
@Zaszz1
@Zaszz1 3 года назад
@@pineaplejuicegg7667 I agree, the price tag screws it over. If your title is purely multiplayer, and isnt a huge tripple A release with a shit load of marketing, you are going to struggle with getting enough people to play. Given that a skin system is essentially already implemented in this royale (due to the other game already having skins ready for porting over), I think not making it free to play was a brain dead decision. Had it just been free to play, it would have had a significantly larger player base since anyone can try it with no risk, and with a larger base, it has a chance to grow organically from players enjoying it and telling their friends to play it. Really stupid decision there. The game literally can't run without enough players to fill lobbies.
@pineaplejuicegg7667
@pineaplejuicegg7667 3 года назад
@@Zaszz1 the game was free to play what i mean what that it was basically a free to play with ways to get skins just like overwatch the only thing is many skins werent recolours like overwatch so u basically never had to put money on the game besides if u wanted to have all the champs and only had to pay 15 bucks for all of them and that makes that even is non f20 put money on the game u werent gonna make anough

@@pineaplejuicegg7667 Doesn't quite excuse it. Give a free copy of the game mode to people who already paid for the game! It was early access, they literally stopped adding content to the base game and focused on trying to make a new money-grabbing game... so 6 months later, maybe they would make a new game and leave battle royale customers hanging there again? It only built distrust, we all left, the game could have strived as the only MOBA battle royale out there, and TBH it was amazing and unique. Maybe not the next DotA 2, but it certainly would have had no competition in its market.

There wasn't enough to depth to individual characters, which is why the game was so popular initially but faded away. It's fun at first, but for most people gets less and less fun as you figure everything out. Unlike a fighting game, which has far more micro depth to get into, or a normal MOBA which has far more macro depth to get into, Battlerite just kinda had nothing after you got in deep enough.

At least, all skins, loot, and currencies are under one account. But heroes, I had to buy separately for both games. So those inconsistencies put off the game a little bit. I understand why people left when they had to pay for the same heroes in a new game.

It might seem like a great idea. I too gave it a try not so long ago because i really liked the concept of the game. Sadly after playing 4 games, i didnt want to play it anymore because of the toxicity i encountered. I was pretty new so i was a little bad at it, but in all 4 games, i got trash talked and even threatend. This made me really sad because i wanted to play it but after seeing the community, the fun this game had to offer sadly faded away. If you have some friends to play with you should try it. Its a great game. Edit: i know every community is a little toxic, but because battlerites community is so small, its way more frequent than somewhere else. Edit 2. I apologize for my bad english.

The problem for me was the game just had a way to steep learning curve. So you couldn't really play it with friends, since the skill gaps were just larger than in any game I've ever played. Therefore it never became the "main game" for most of the players. Also people wouldn't really play it for a long time because the 7 min ultra-intense games were just so exhausting, you couldn't play for hours like you can in other games.

In most other MOBAs, there's peaks of action with stretches of calm; a game of league isn't going to be non-stop massive teamfights all the time for the full game but BR forced that. By design, BR only allowed for people with great reflexed and nonstop concentration to really win which could easily get exhausting even after a few games.

6:00 I Disagree. The problem wasnt that the suppot class was hard to do, the point of video games is that they are challenging and you enjoy succeding in doing the hard stuff regardless, the problem was that Battlerite failed in explaining new players HOW to EXACTLY play support, specifically, each character, and also make a PVE gamemode that allowed players to practice them without the pressure of online games. Sirius is actually really easy to play as. You just heal with m2, you use E to pretify enemies, you counter fi you need to and you deal damage when you can. If you have the oportunity, you teleport into an enemy and you mouse1 hit them for big damage, OR you retreat, you teleport into your ally to heal them and you move to safety at the same time.

Battlerite having no tournament mode feature, having a separate Battle Royale game instead of just adding it to the base game, and the most dreaded addition: attempting to add the battle royale features likes items and launch pads to the original game all can’t compare to the one thing that really killed the game: overcharge. They actually turned a game about playing with teammates and trying to preserve each other’s lives while trying to defeat the enemy team to “WOOHOO MY TEAMMATES DIED! NOW I CAN OVERCHARGE AND POP THE FUCK OFF 1VS3!”

I didn't really think of some of what you said before. It's been the same way in their other games. In Bloodline Champions and Dead Island: Epidemic, both games were really sink or swim. You either learn how to connect with everything or you end up not really having any fun. It felt amazing playing it, but I saw my friends fall away very quickly from BLC.

Battlerite felt like playing Smash 3 v 3, but the devs didnt did much to motivate players, or building a community. But it felt extreme satisfying to play support in a premade team!

The fact that the community wanted them to put new game modes in and yet they completely disregarded it... unforgivable. Not to mention splitting the community into two different games.

Battlerite royale is my favorite online game of all time. Sometimes I still log in to kill a lobby full of bots, it's kinda sad. The devs did 3 big mistakes that made the game die so fast. 1. Should've been f2p from the beginning. The whole battlerite playerbase felt betrayed. 2. Bad marketing. I bet 99% of the whole gamer world never heard of this game. 3. Lazy game studio. Instead of adding new things to this game they went on holiday for a couple months after the release. Nowadays your game has to consistently develop to be successful longterm. They did some things like halloween or winter event, but by far not enough. I still almost had a 1000 hours of fun and tears in this beautiful game and I hope SLS will do better in their next game.
@pentastealzirl
@pentastealzirl 3 года назад
As the top tournament organizer for the game, PentaStealz, it began to die when they went for the money grab of royale. As a business man I agreed on decision because the main game was not noob friendly like royale. I hoped the gamble was worth the risk like SLS did. Unfortunately it wasn't, due to lack of content building up to Royale which we were unaware of due to poor communication the game began to die despite the communities best efforts. Thanks for bringing the game to my RU-vid algorithm ❤️❤️❤️ And yes, as scarra said. Battlerite is for real gamers, like real fucking gamers.

God I loved Battlerite. The first moba I tried every hero and it felt like playing chess. Baiting the escape skill, knowing when to "all in", it felt just great. When Royale popped up everything went down so fast. I really don't get, why developers feel the need to instantly have E-sports going on. Why not taking it slow and create an ingame tournament mode first, instead of burning the money for useless stuff and price pools? I have no interest in any price pools, because I know that I will never ever get any of it. And calling Sirius a support is an insult! Ah, the only game where you could win in competitive with 3 "supports", it was amazing!

I remember playing it all the way back in 2016 and feeling completely lost as to what the fuck I was supposed to do. And it's not even about winning, just feeling accomplished about having done anything. Even with a decent winrate (back then the game was still fresh, so matchmaking wasn't an issue) it still felt like I was pressing buttons randomly as skills went off cooldown and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't and I had no fucking clue how you're supposed to actually improve at the game to play it properly. It felt like you needed an attention span of a god, tracking not just your own cooldown skills (of which you have 7), but also everyone else's (2 teammates and 3 enemies, so... 42 cooldown timers!), and it was a lot more about remembering the timers than it was about any kind of strategy, moment-to-moment decision making or mechanical execution.

Ive been wanting to play this game since it got announced but I never had a pc till like 2 months ago. I got the game and some days you don’t find matches. I didnt mess with the br one that much but it was pretty cool. What i would of liked for modes, i would of put br in the battle rite game and also made an overwatch/paladins type mode. Like push a cart to the enemy zone type or capture zones from overwatch. It sucks that i just got a pc cause i really enjoy the game and try to play it frequently.
