Honestly, I don't get why sisters have that mentality. The man is labouring all day to make ends meet for his family, he deserves to come home to a nice home cooked meal and a clean house. The way she speaks about not wanting to be a 'maid' is ridiculous. You should be taking care of the house out of your love and support for him, so he comes back to a peaceful sanctuary after a day of grinding outside

@@romaiseb nowadays a man's income is simply not enough to make ends meet. Especially with the cost of living crises we are in. In which case household duties have to be split. I agree that if he is the sole earner than he should come home to a nice mean etc. But it also depends on the family...if you have 6 kids then you definitely are not the only one who is grinding, and the wife rightfully deserves appreciation, a break and the help of her husband when it comes to cooking and cleaning. I mean even if you just have one kid, is it awful to help out your wife? Not saying she should not also do things for his pleasure like cook and clean etc. But a lot of the comments are just so black and white and narrow minded, day to day life is not the same...sometimes we need to help each other out to show we care.

I was talking to a woman and her Wali about marriage. I also flew in to meet her in the presence of the Wali. She wanted to split responsibilities 50/50 like cooking, cleaning, taking care of children. Initially she agreed to split financial responsibilities 50/50. We both make about $75,000 per year. She wants to work full time after marriage and after we have children. Then she changed her mind a couple weeks before the engagement. She said Islamically “my money is my money, and your money is our money.” She wanted to go on vacation twice a year and dine out twice a week. She won’t pay for that either. She won’t pay for the nanny. Her job will need her to relocate for two years. Initially she agreed to do a long distance relationship for those two years and then she said she wants me to quit my job and find a new job near her. I almost forgot. The wedding expenses are going to cost me around $200,000. I dropped this gold digger like the pile of crap she is. Sad what’s happening to our ummah. On to the next candidate.

Raising kids after the age of breastfeeding is father job, because he is responsible to Allah SWT for their manners and religious knowledge. Also Prophet SAWS help in household chores. Are you married sister? You made a list for women that is so long, but both men and women has only 24 hours a day. I agree that women has to do majority of things at home if she is not working and obey husband, but try to clean and do all of that while taking care of kids and you will see how challenging it is. It is nothing compared to 8 hours office job. Why don't husband and wife just be kind and supportive to each other, still remembering their duties, but even tho helping one another?

AllahummaBarik. You pointed the wives duty very beutifully, but to say that the husbands job is only to prtect and provide is a pretty shallow look on things. Yes the wife should beutify herself for her husband but the husband is expected to do the exact same, just as he wants his wife to be. The prophet SAW used to use the siwaak when he entered the house of his wives to not make her uncomftable. The man should be fit ans not sit around with an airbag 24/7. Same thing with intimacy, and he should also be kind to her and show respect. One can provide and protect but whether he treats his wife right is not guarenteed.

"How I can serve Allah with you in my life?" this is not the right question to ask for a woman. even if we are talking about serving Allah, the question the woman should be asking is "How can I serve you?" why? because for a woman, she CANNOT SERVE ALLAH UNTIL SHE serves her husband. The Prophet S.A.W said: No woman can fulfill her duty towards Allah until she fulfills her duty towards her husband. Grade: Hasan (Darussalam) Reference : Sunan Ibn Majah 1853 as for a man, he can serve Allah WITHOUT SERVING HIS WIFE. This kind of woman is driving us to become “passport bros.” I know I’ve given up on looking in the US for a wife… I’m on the 5 pillars, own a 7-figure business, in good shape, but couldn’t even get through the door since I’m average height, and just ok looking. These girls in their 20s all feel entitled to 6’ and perfect looks, lock the age parameter to +/- 4 years, but fail to get the commitment from that guy, and think they can then rush to the finish line to find guys like me and make us their provider when they hit their 30s… To that, I can speak for all of us brothers who built ourselves up, NO, we don’t want you, and we’re leaving you behind to stay single (or choose form guys either 15-20 years older, or similar age guy as you who are broke, because that’s all you’ll have left). The guys who made something out of themselves who you overlooked and are single, high value and your age consider **you** invisible now.

Word reminds me of my ex wife, she was working as well, I paid all the bills, vacations, dates, etc. after 3 years I divorced her due to her being unappreciative and disrespectful, when I did divorce her she mentioned how stupid I was for paying for everything and how she’s got way more money in the bank. Fast forward Alhamdulillah I got married to a woman from the Middle East, much better woman Alhamdulillah, fellas if you can, marry from oversees and/or marry a girl from a conservative family and a girl with traditional values, save your life and the stress !

It's all about who Allah guides. If the wife has submitted fully to her husband the more closer to she is to Allah and being a woman who will enter jannah through any gate she wants. There are many ahadith that enchorages the wife to be submissive to the husband. The husband is the wife's paradise or fire,as narrated in the hadith. The pleasure of Allah is in the pleasure of the husband. There seems to be real lack of understanding of the religion which these women have chosen. But ultimately guidance is from Allah and he gives the correct understanding to whom he wills. A women having an arrogant attitude will stop her humbling herself to the truth. The reason why women became so bitter is because men mistreated women for so many years. Children have seen moms getting beaten up by their fathers, they had to cook clean and do everything and yet look good and fit compared or the husband marrying another wife. Women had to take care of inlaws, beg their husband and inlaws to get permission to meet t her Mom and dad. In laws and husband never appreciated. Women in the process of childbirth, home responsibilities were so exhaused that their whole joiurney was serving others and not themselves. 80% of women still dont get their Mahr in South Asia and are expected dowry including, furniture, seasonal fruits, dinner set, cows during eid al adha, expensive gifts etc. Now some of you will say this is culture but not hate all this oppression but hate a confident an educated liberal women more than the culture. If you see west they have no religion, hence no culture no one is using religion as weapon to control, but women are constantly blackmailed with religion to say they are not good enough. Most men wants a lady doctor and female teachers for their daughters but these same men dont want their daughter to be educated and become doctor engineer to fulfil their domestic needs. Women are stuck in loop so out of anger they become bitter feminist. Women could never breathe happily, When they were not feminists they were bashed at homes and neglected from basic rights When women became feminists they are still bashed for raising their voices So ultimayrly they got frustrated that they became A Feminutsy!

She's not wrong in stating that though. If that weren't the case then we should inherit the same amount of money. The only reason men get double the amount is because they're meant to be financially responsible. If both spouses work then both should contribute to house chores and bills. If one spouse works then the other should take care of the home. I personally like to work because I want to be able to buy what I want and help my family out however I want. I don't feel right asking my husband for unnecessary things even though he's generous and willing but I just prefer to do it myself. I deprive myself of alot when I don't work because of this guilt. I also don't think my husband is responsible for my needy relatives as he has a duty to help out his parents/family with that money. I have always encouraged him in helping his family as generously as possible and remind him his parents needs come before mine. Not all women just want to work for selfish reasons. It seems most men here don't know what it's like to have a decent equal partner with mutual respect and trust.

Is it a surprise that more men don't get married? That leady in the beginning does have a point about Islamic rules and what a man can demand and not. BUT there is much more to the story that she does not reveal. Bottom line is, instead of being adversaries you can also be partners: Throw the money on a pile, give each other an allowance for personal stuff and make a budget together and plan together. This is how my parents have done it. My dad never interfered in my mom's income yet my mom always contributed to the household because she said "it was for the greater good of the family". My mom made most financial decisions anyway except for the cars which my dad took upon him. "You money is mine and my money is mine" is not a good way to start a relation.

I am completely against the daiyouth man and against dividing anything 50/50 because it drops the role of the man and of the woman..... But, my brother, what I notice is that no matter how much a woman works in her home and raises her children, they do not appreciate her as if this thing is not tiring and she must look beautiful all the time and she shouldn't complain, and if her husband drinks alchool, they tell her to be patient for the sake of her children.....this is psychologically and physically tiring, and after this he marries another women or beats her and orders her to blindly obey. Subhanallah, did Khadija RA not elevate Rasulullah S.A.W? If it were not for her beautiful character and the love she had for Allah and Rasulullah S.A.W, would Islam even have spread?your point is totally futile here, if you think a woman cannot elevate a man. The humble woman definitely can. The success of any relationship, is to have the love of Allah at the centre of our heart. For both, men and women. Both have rights in Islam and as long as we understand the rights of one over the other, there would not be a problem. The problem these days is everyone is selfish....everyone thinking of their own gains....people don't want to put in the effort! Yes there are materialistic sisters and yes there are abusive and arrogant brothers too. There's a reason why Our Prophet SAW said, chose a spouse based on their taqwa.....but do people care? They want perfection as the brother said, pleasing to the eyes...look for someone who will b pleasing to your soul....looks change, the soul dsnt. May Allah guide us all.

This is true- I am in a marriage with that subordinate man. I have tried to get him to stop drinking and take better care of himself. He listens sometimes but not all. Women do look for superior men.. why? Because it makes us feel more feminine being with a leader. That’s why.
