My favorite aquascape in a very long time!!!! It has a natural and “realistic” look that the NSAs really can’t match. At the same time it does not obstruct flow and the structures provide a lot of hiding places for all the fish to be comfortable. Essentially you made two large “hollow” bommies. VERY nice! 👏🏼

KNEW I recognized that voice…AmroAzul ! Fellow RedSea 250er and loved your vids…actually have one bookmarked on your flow ! 😁 Kinda spooky as I’ve been lookin at that same Waterbox tank ! This modular design is genius along with Abe’s use of the plugs ! Would of been HUGELY beneficial when I had an outbreak of bubble algae to be able to remove sections of rock to clean….instead of just stacked rocks like I have is almost impossible. Great vid content….will be subscribing ! 👍

Thanks man! The waterbox has been a lot of fun so far! Thanks for subbing !

This is really cool I’m sure I’ll be watching this video multiple times and probably copy it one day I’ve always wondered how they do it !

Thanks man! The way I built this is a bit unique from the one structure type designs you see on BRS for example. But yeah feel free to copy it and improve it for your tank!

@@TheBioReef using Marco cement is a great idea for the coral mounts! Nice touch!

@@CoralEuphoria thanks Abe… glad you liked it! yeah you can make them the size, shape and thickness you want and no messing around with a reciprocating saw :) risks of loosing fingers is minimized :) cheers

Could you make a video on dosing kalkwasser for beginners? Would like to hear your thoughts and how you would dose it

Hi Ray - i did this Kalkwaser vid a while back - I found adding kalk to my RODI to be really easy as it doesn't require an extra equipment.

Here's a tip I highly recommend since you're starting with dry rock. First cure your rocks and cement plugs in RO water only; do it a couple times. Very effective for pulling out silicates and other nasties. Then do the saltwater curing afterwards.
@TheBioReef
@TheBioReef 2 года назад
Thanks for the tip; how long should it cure in Ro… are talking about a rinse; or a few days / weeks in Ro ?
@TheBioReef
@TheBioReef 2 года назад
Also, am I adding a heater : powerhead in the rodi water ?

After sending the ro water where plugs made of white cement sat for 1month, changed every three days) to ati for analysis, it says 30000mg/ltr Silicate and alloy pretty high. So im having an eye on this. Greetings

@@TheBioReef Longer the better I guess, maybe a few weeks. Powerhead alone is good, no need for heater since not worried about anything biological at this point.

I would suggest some epoxy putty feet under the flat Marco rock. Think like the little nubs under a chair that keeps it from sliding. It will raise the rock about an inch off the glass and allow flow and hiding spots and still appear to be on the bottom as long as your sand is slightly higher. It will be just as stable and lift easier it you need to remove them temporarily

good idea!

I like this! I was thinking of doing a negative space aquascape like BRS, but I like the modular concept better cause it seems so much more practical for reef keeping. Maybe I can do a soft of hybrid 🤔 Thanks so much for sharing! Also, is this a new channel name?

thanks Vincent... yes i am in the process of rebranding under 'The BioReef'... did some major upgrades on the studio and video end of things; will be making an official announcement on the weekend!

I'd be worried about detritus traps. I kinda did mine like yours but kept my bases and legs a little more spread out to allow more flow through. But I do like the artistic approach. Yet I'm finding there feels to be less area to grow frags on a more artistic approach.
@TheBioReef
@TheBioReef 2 года назад
Thanks for the feedback… I am less worried about flow because of my plans for powerhead for the new build… the channels I put in the rock work are mean to work with the powerhead configuration to allow flow through the crevices. Regarding coral placement / I hear you although I am trying to add a few non sps corals in the ‘empty’ spaces in the rock work so, I think the end result will be pleasant. Thanks For watching

@@TheBioReef anytime. I'd love to see the flow in a video in the future once this is up and running. You have me curious.
