Coolest strategy I’ve seen with this OC is one I call “cheese lotus” You have an engi place a stack of 4 platforms in a room, and the gunner gets on top and starts shooting quarter-charge shots down into it to fill it with vertical holes. Then if an enemy enters the room the gunner steps behind the stack and shoots through it. If you do it right the shot goes through 6-7 surfaces and does more than 1000 damage when it comes out
This definitely would profit some views if put out in video form on youtube, this sound so cool but difficult to pull off without a friend group or the ilk to plan with!
@@BlackoutBlakeOfficialYT a youtuber named LazyMaybe already showcases this strategy in a video about the coilgun! i dont think he came up with the idea though, be he does show how to do it. also, mole adds +150 flat damage for very surface. if you wanted to reach a thousand damage, (assuming you dont take the damage up) youd need the shot to pass through 6 surfaces to reach more than a thousand damage, 130 + (150 * 6) = 1,030 damage. although its easier to reach this number with hitting a weakpoints or an IFG's enemy.
@@elgatochurroMy biggest pain with gunner is his lackluster mobility tool compared to the others. Scout can get anywhere super easily and quickly. Driller can drill anywhere with some smart drilling, and it’s fun to destroy terrain. Engie can use his platforms to create great stairs and fall great heights with taking no/little damage. Gunner… well, zipping down is fun, but going up is such a slow and painful process with the zip lines. You just sit there. It’s not as interesting to me.
One of many reasons I love mole. BetC, Spitballer, Nemesis(don't even have to it since it never shuts up) and just being aware of the environment enough to 1-2 shot praetorians
The mole overclock carried me to 3 star legendary. I love one/two shot killing oppressors. I encourage everyone to ping big targets. Also people love me for killing cave leeches.
Imaging this: Gunner with the coilgun standing atop a Platform near the ceiling, with about 10 other platforms lined up below him, close but not touching, thus counting as passing through different surfaces. How much damage would that be?
@@Nikolai0169is there a cap for how many times it can gain that bonus, or is it just 'however many surfaces it can penetrate'? If the latter, then I wonder what THAT limit is
@@jeepersmcgee3466 there is no theoretical cap, but there is a limit to how much terrain distance you can penetrate in one shot. I dont know the exact numbers, especially since they differ depending on how soft the surface is. In theory you could drill an extremely long hallway and make holes in the wall in such a way that you leave only waver thin pieces of terrain so you can get the most penetrations possible. I believe you could easily get damage in six figures and up, if you are insane enough to put in the time and precision required. Alternatively if you want to go even crazier and have the ammo to spare, you could line the tunnel with platforms in such a way that you punch out almost all of a platform before placing the next one so that you can fit even more gaps into a smaller area. Either way, there is a finite amount of damage you can do, but it might as well be infinity.
Try hellfire also. Do it! 1.Line up a whole swarm of grunts 2.Shoot through them all once 3.See them die in a matter of seconds at worst( for those who did'nt get insta kill in headshot). Mole rocks for big targets, while hellfire shredds any number of smaller enemies. Also hellfire is so damn good at dealing with glyphid swarmers or naedocytes ;)
I almost always use the mole, I do the exact same thing when encountering BET-C (Or any stronger enemy.) mark it, get behind wall or dig my own, and fire.
Gunner: … so anyway I started blasting and… Scout 1 : You killed BET-C THROUGH A WALL HOW?! Gunner: WALLS plural anyway it’s an overclock the one we got from that deep dive remember? Scout 2: Oh yeah I remember Scout 1: Im just mind boggled…how on earth did DRG get these stuff commissioned? Engineer: I don’t really know how either and I’m friends with RND Gunner: Are we gonna talk about my mole or can I continue my story? Scout 1: Sorry I was curious continue Gunner: Not a problem now where was I… Oh yes so I started blasting…
yes this is haz 1 (i lied actually it isn't haz 1, it dealt so much damage because i shot through the coral which has a lot of surfaces for it to repenetrate)
@@gagooooooooooooooo ok I’ll just blame me playing the mole a whole lot of once then, I didn’t even know it did more damage the more it penetrated ( I thought it just dug better )
@@de-ment each surface penetrated adds 150 kinetic damage to the shot and it increases terrain penetration depth by 2.7x, depends on surface hardness such as sandblasted's 1 hit or crystalline's 3 hit
Too bad it's extremely situational. 2 scenarios: 1. You're swarmed, minigun overheat and you have a useless side arm. 2. You see a big target, now you have to actually run away to find walls and tell your teammate to mark the target before every shot *You probably could've killed the target with the six shot/elephant bulldog much faster, but it's much less funny*
If you have a friend engie they can make a platform stack for a dreadnaught. You shoot into the platform stack from above and make it Swiss cheese then you shoot through it from the side and one shot dreadnaughts
