When i start to get lost, when i start to get worried about life, i always come back to this video, this message, that is so simple and basic and yet so powerful. It always teaches me the same thing again and again and it is good to get reminded. There is no moment that is like the other. There is nothing that lasts, there is only constant flux. No matter how bad a situation is, it will pass, no matter how good it is, it will pass. Everything passes.

My best friend came back from Afghanistan, he wrote “it all goes back in the box” on his Facebook before he passed. I just came across this many years later. He was doing so well. But just because he had things doesn’t mean he was happy with what he was doing.

Majority of people think life is just about a good job, high salary and the accumulation of material possessions. Some people are running after that illusion of success until they die and eventually they realize they have never been truely happy... I think we have been lied to, there's more to life than jsut money and possessions and I hope all of you will find it out

its so hard to find it out... actually i was toled a lie and got addicted to this ugly mass thinking and i believed in that.. getting a job i like, train, eat good, having a girlfriend.. but that was never what i was made for, me and you, are made for greater things. I aimed to low and hit the bottom. Im at my lowest self with 24, but i feel happy to figure it out now and not any later. I can still change my nature and hope and beg, that i'll be good at something. What matters? Dancing in life.

Yeah I always tell myself money is just a piece of paper, then I look at my mortgage, my loans, my kids. I know the sentiment sounds nice but at the end of the day we don't live in a world that allows you to be free from this crippling capitalistic system. It's bullshit, if I stop caring about money today, I will be homeless tomorrow. I have yet to meet someone who doesn't "care" about money or possessions that is happy. Whenever I DO hear someone say that, it's because they are well off, ironic.

The key is to win the game while simultaneously knowing it goes back in the box, AND having the understanding of fair play to let your friends win once in a while. You'll also have a richer experience by giving your friends tips to be as skilled at the game as you are, so that each match will be more challenging and interesting.

I mean they can't even reconcile the omniscient, omnipotent, omnibenevolent, omnipresent contradictions, let alone anything else. Then there's rubbish like; 132 people survive air crash "it's a miracle" Kids dying by the thousand in Africa from disease "god works in mysterious ways" I find the whole thing rather pathetic and religious people, rather amusing. What truly matters are your interactions with others and having fun. Those are things that are created by you and cannot be destroyed or taken by time. Money, grades, leadership experience, work experience none of that matters, what matters is to enjoy life and to live it to the fullest. To get up each and every day and seize it from dawn to dusk. Meeting new people, making new friends, and making new memories... that's what matters, because in the end the friendships and memories you made dont go back in the box.

When I feel like I want to dedicate my life to accumulate things and stuff I always go back into this video and reminds myself that life is short and the most meaningful things can not be bought, we pay dearly with our precious time the things that we consider possessions, we exchange our life, our health, our youth, our time, our relationship in order to fill our life with material possessions.

So long as there is life on this planet, there will always be competition for resources, whether civilized or not. I’d also add that your perspective changes after you have kids, who you can transfer your resources to for their future. That said, this is a great speech and video to keep perspective.

I don't know if I am repeating myself as I shared it many times online... I once walked 14 miles to the beach. I thought it would be exhilirating and fun and a great accomplishment. After I was done, I did not feel any euphoria, no walker's high, no joy, no sense of accomplishment and achievement. I felt EMPTY. It was a cloudy day and I felt absolutely and utterly listless. Gradually, I stopped all these dumb self-help and what not or a pipe dream to be like a Navy SEAL or have Goggins mentality. I think lot of people are misinterpreting the story. It doesn't mean don't enjoy life or don't chase ambition or success or goals. But if you make THAT the endgoal then like me you will FOREVER be hollow and empty inside. Tao does nothing, but leaves nothing undone!! Life is not a checklist to be solved and ticked off.

Life is simple. "When hungry eat, when tired sleep." If you think getting that "goodie"- whatever that means- will magically make you happy, then you will be chasing that carrot all your life. Capitalism, consumerism, social media...etc etc.. traps you. Avoid the traps and you will be fine. Society doesn't teach you contenment, because they themselves have never found it. You don't need to solve brain surgeon or send rocket to space to be happy in life.

I know someone who put their mother in a nursing home, through her caretaker to the streets, she was his sister, sold the mothers home and spent her money on himself,and when the mother died took her will and hid it, took everything for himself and through away his brothers and sister. Like blood and love did not matter. To this I say " It all goes back into the box"

I see no point in having to go into debt to acquire a property and in the process we end up struggling to survive, losing our freedom, start living in fear. No time for the kids anymore, no time for ourselves anymore, having to work harder. And at the end we lose it all. I mean is it worth it ? Undermining our whole life to have something that doesn`t belong to us in the first place? Needless to say we don`t even know how much time we have left to accomplish that. It seems to me a huge waste of life.

Some of the wisdom parents have been learning and teaching to their children since the dawn of time still exists today, and it will still exist as long as man does, we depend upon it to live, Teaching and learning are the only true values in life, it is pure love ;)

I've always wondered why people argue to the point of letting their emotions control what they say next.. So many, waste time on winning at a losers game. So why not try and win at something useful besides arguing? It all seems to start with competition when it could be simply cooperation for the better of humanity. Isn't that what it's all about? I have some thought I'd like to share about this saying: 1) When saying "It" all goes back in the box - what does that mean to you? Your body, name, possessions etc were all lent out at the day of birth. Maybe you were born to a rich family. But you are never the owner of anything in this ever changing world. Clinging leads to attachment and suffering. Karma yoga - do things without expecting the fruits. 2) "The box" is the place you came from before you were born. The end is exactly where the beginning is. Focus on your state prior to "beingness" and find out what you are. 3) "Be a passer by" (Jesus, the Gospel of Thomas). 4) See people around you. Some have ore worldly goods than others. Does it matter? Can any of them really "win" this life and carry their things on to the next plane (whatever it is)? Did they bring anything from the prior plane? 5) When you really go deep and think, it is better to have less than have and then lose. Love you all people

What matters? Whatever the answer to that question it is right and wrong at the same time. So, in that case I choose an answer that I know makes me and the rest of humanity feel good: LOVE matters. Am I right? Probably yes and no, depending from what perspective you look at it.

So you're saying that you will work hard (do things that you don't like) in order to make money and to make a better life for your children. And in doing this you teach your children to work hard (do things they don't like) to make a better life for their children. Therefore I ask you. Do you consider yourself a good person? I don't think you are. You see, you are bringing children into this world with the full intention of imposing suffering on them. And I think that is immoral.

Also check out Peter Joseph's Documentary: Zeitgeist : Moving Forward. This documentary kind of brings back the hope you might felt like you lost, at least it did for me

What matters is. Playing the game. Thats the whole point. To step up to the plate and swing. To learn from your failures and and enjoy your successes. Will making a lot of money make you happy? Maybe not. However, its hard to frown on a jet ski, on a tropical island, with the family or friends you enjoy. Life is what you make of it. So make it a good one.

Balance between money and life wealth is the best. Having a family that you can't feed and getting used from everyone is not good. Having only material wealth and no love it's the same condition. Money never made to make you happy but to live in comfort.

This is what is used to mentally enslave people: The pursuit of happiness. But the "happiness" obtained through that obsession turns out to be an illusion. As you may have heard, happiness comes from within, not from the outside world. Don't be Afraid to be silly, or foolish...it's an amazing way to enjoy moments when you have nothing to do, and it changes you into a more lighthearted carefree person. There's probably a lot more poetic ways to say this, but really, push yourself; be weird as hell. It's fun.

I don't think it matters of what i have, the thing that matters for me is what i would do for the people behind me before i go. If this beautiful lie we call life is so bad, atleast we should do something that is worth the effort before we all go

No. The game is only playable at all by giving. Leaving behind more than taking or living a giving life. The reason any person is alive is by the giving of their parents. Who wants anything at all by death.

The Monopoly game of Life being played is simply out of boredom! To pass the time, we've come up with a bizarre game that uses the planet's resources as prizes and treats the planet's inhabitants as players. We play man because at our core we are predators and having made it to the top, now prey on each other for endorphins. This destructive game will be the end of us all. There will be only one winner and many are already being sacrificed for the game including the planet. We could get the same endorphins looking out for each other as we once did to survive as a species but sociopathy and narcissism are now admired. The game is almost over. Who will win?
